    Great conversation! I went through a similar deconstruction and reconstruction of my belief system, and it was hard. The videos of Jude 3 helped me work out a lot of my questions. Thanks!!!

      The gospel is the gift of Eternal Life that God has given to us, and this Truth is manifest in the bodily resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. All the other preachings are not the Truth. If it's not centered and on the foundation of the bodily resurrection how can it be the gospel? So many misuse the written testimonies of the Word Himself who is the Eternal Life. I'm amazed on how not many actually understand the gospel. If you have the Holy Spirit of Jesus, you should be experiencing the depth of His life that has already overcome the experience of death. You should actually be a new creature. A spirit born organism understanding the spiritual reality of God. There are so many cursed imaginations because of the false gospels. What made the apostles and the ones who saw the risen Messiah is that they were no longer in spiritual bondage to death because of His bodily resurrection. He is the one to fulfill the promise in the garden and every other promise God made throughout time. His bodily resurrection is our reality, and the experience of this is by His Spirit. This is only the basic level of intimacy with Jesus that I'm testifying of so where is there any room for the false ear tickling worldy teachings? If it doesn't build up on the confession of Jesus as the Living Messiah and cause re-birth as a spiritual organism through His bodily resurrection, how is the gospel of Truth?

      No, thank you all at Jude 3! I bless the Holy Spirit for leading me to your videos during that tough time.
      Briefly, I'd been saved for 20 years and went through the "seeking my identity in scripture" crisis as a result of what I was seeing play out in our Western culture. I saw an eye opening video by a now deceased historian, Runoko Rashidi, that showed me artifacts from our people that far predated scripture, that showed me that we were more than enslaved, but rather had a glorious history.
      That led me down a great 2 year historical journey through time, but my worldview was also confronted. It was painful and I had to reconstruct what I believed, the great thing was that my life altering salvation experience is what I could never deny and get away from, but my intellect and head needed to reconcile things. I'm one who has always studied and actually love to.
      The Kemetic community has some compelling arguments and theories, but along my searching I saw a few Courageous Conversations, and Dr. Vince Bantu was a huge help. I also saw his debate with Dr. Jabari Osaze at Pastor Mason's church, which was awesome.
      The video that really helped though was the one with Bantu, Dr. Wesley, and the two other panelists that discussed the Inclusive versus Exclusive positions. From there, I watched Dr. Wesley's entire Can I Push It series. Him really being honest and transparent and being able to say, "I don't know it all," was so liberating. I identity with a more Inclusive stance.
      So, it has been a great journey, and I bless God for the work you all are doing. I needed to see and hear this from an African-American viewpoint. It helped save my faith. 🙂

    The prosperity gospel will have us thinking and focusing on ourselves, and not the cross of Christ, that’s the god (small g) of this world, and not the God of the Bible. Once I came into right division, it made the word of God come alive. This grace message has humbled me, and I am forever grateful. God bless you and your listeners🩵

    That's why God gave us the story of Job because He knows when things go wrong the devil will come through people "even" those in the church to doubt our place in Christ.

    When faith disappoints is bigger than the prosperity gospel. We will all feel disappointed in God because there are times to grow us, there’s a lonely, isolated and tough growth process. It gets dark and scary but God was there THROUGH it.

    I grew up in the prosperity gospel and I had a similar experience as her. I think it was more of not understanding that in your 20's you have to pay your dues and be patient for success and God's plan. God doesn't circumvent the natural pattern of things sometimes so you can get what you want. Sometimes you have to pay your dues with God. I worked so hard in college and had no job in my career for 7 years after graduation but God told me to keep trying. Now I am living my dream, in the career I graduated in and thriving, but I am in my 40's. God is after character, patience, and hard work. He does also want us to have faith in Him. Faith does work. He never wanted me to give up faith that one day I would be successful, but he wanted patience too. So there is a balance but you have to seek God to find it. Faith plus works is the best balance. Don't abandon faith in God for success, but don't be impatient and want things more than your relationship with Him.

    This is a great discussion to have in the community. The prosperity Gospel is based on American culture of capitalism, selfishness and greed. You can't preach that kind of message to the unhoused or countries that are poverty-stricken.

    Kayla's story resonates with me. And yet, I don't think her story reflects "prosperity gospel" failing her. It seems to moreso display commonplace unmet expectations with God + life within a coming of age story (especially when someone graduates college and doesn't have an amazing runway to their first job).
    Disappointment, though, can come in many ways. And I appreciated hearing Kayla talk about her journey and reframing what God is doing in her life.

      The prosperity gospel has no theodicy. If you are financially strapped or ill, then something is wrong with you. It is an American orientation of the gospel that is foreign to many Third World believers. I often wonder how lower income families would feel in Kenneth Copeland's church.

    • @itschrischriss
      @itschrischriss หลายเดือนก่อน

      It resonates with me too. I really enjoyed hearing someone else say these things out loud. Personally, I would relate it to the prosperity gospel failing her/me bc those expectations were set by way of a growing up under a system & certain type of teaching - so deeply charismatic and though it may speak of the hard times, not with nearly as much emphasis as the trails being won & on THIS side of heaven on top of that. She/we just hadn’t lived long enough to see that its focus didn’t set her up for other seasons of life as much.
      Of course we have a role to play and it doesn’t mean a person didn’t read their Bible but if the church has a place of importance & we’re supposed to go then it has to take accountability too. If it’s responsible & needed for us growing in the faith then teachings can also be taken into consideration when assessing someone’s separation from it. Idk but I enjoy these perspectives in the comments too that most of us unfortunately can barely get in person.

      @@itschrischriss I hear you. For me, I think about the percentage of people who graduate college and get hit with the reality of the job market. Believers or not, the percentage would probably be high that many college graduates aren't getting what they expect despite being above average. Either way, I understand what you're saying and equally value these videos.

    It's really popular and easy to criticize where the word of God talks about prosperity, or healing and if we don't read the rest of the scripture and believe that also we will be Christians with very limited knowledge of the word and the character of God and that we can also expect suffering, trials and tribulations in our walk with the Lord,

    • @tpisbrave1135
      @tpisbrave1135 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree. Yet both are choices. A woman can choose to be Married or Single, both are GOOD choices. Having Children is a Choice through natural birth or adoption. The problem is most congregations pressure women into getting Married and having children as if that's something GOD promised all women. Not in scriptures. Mary and Martha were Single and childless, yet JESUS still found them valuable, useful. It's people, not GOD, that has an issue with it. A loss of a child by miscarriage or death is extremely difficult 💔 and a separate discussion.

Associate with Saved, Single Women who are at peace and living and enjoying life not pining about Marriage and Children. Adoption is a great option. Unless Men desire or need for Marriage and Children, they will seek it out.

    The entire premise of salvation is based on Jesus suffering the most horrible barbaric death imaginable. So based on that model, he uses things that seem bad in the moment to bring about his purpose and plan. Success in anything is not just a straight line. It has dips, turns, circles, and everything else. So suffering is actually an intricate part of prospering. You think an athlete doesn't suffer when he's training in the heat or cold? You think a boxer isn't suffering when it's round 9 in a 12 round match and he's already tired, battered, and bloody? The victory comes with extreme discomfort

    Prosperity gospel isn’t faith so it doesn’t build faith. It’s manipulation and perversion. For every promise God gives, there is a standard. Without the standard (that matures us into real faith) we forfeit the promise.
