Would you say the HRD is the best of the bunch as i heard you mention a few other software programmes .I dont want to load up my pc with any more than i have to .Also can Hrd send rtty i like using the decoder on my 7300 but its a pain to use the small keyboard on the radio .Not many folks seem to use rtty now most seem to be using ft8 which i have never used.
Thank you for commenting. I've tried many and I think HRD has the best rig control (HRD Connect) and the best logbook. DM780 is the best for modes like PSK31. No doubt HRD is popular. I find it easier to use than others. Of course it is a pay to play program. That's my unvarnished opinion. No one pays me. Thanks and take care. 73!
I downloaded HRD last night, on the 30 trial right now. I used your settings and it works fine. I tried the panadapter and wasn't impressed with the latency issue. I had all the baud rates set to your specs. Unfortunately after I set all of these settings on my radio my Omnirig and SDRuno stops functioning with my RSPdx so I reset all the settings and then that works again. I am going to get a SD card for it and save a couple of radio presets so I can switch back and forth w/o going though all of the setting over and over again. I think it might be an issue with CI-V USB Port, Unlink from (Remote) setting or if you have an idea let me know.
1crazynordlander hello and thank you for commenting here. Yes I was not impressed with the panadapter in HRD. I don’t think you would have to change anything in the radio to keep all of those working. However they probably won’t I’ll work at the same time. Unless you have virtual ports or two cables. I leave the settings in the radio alone and then configure the software to work. For instance I always have unlink from remote enabled and I set the USB baud rate in the radio to 115200 and then match that in the software. For Omnirig I use a CIV cable and the highest baud rate is 19200.73!
Nice to hear from you Al and that's a great question. I don't believe we can reduce the number of tuning bars. Decreasing the vertical height is the only way I see. If I find out anything more I will put it in a video. Thanks and 73! - Rich, K0PIR
Nice to hear from you and I hope all is well where you are. There must be software activating TX. Try to set USB SEND to OFF inside the ICOM 7300 menu. 73!
Barry Kery Hey nice to hear from you and thanks for commenting here. I agree 100% and I have mentioned it before in emails to ICOM. SDR ought to come with some software IMO. I encourage them to provide RS-BA1 software for free. 73!
Hi Bill, On most systems any user on the computer can download it. It would depend on how tight your security is on your computer whether or not you could install without being admin. Icom will not restrict the download. Once it is downloaded and extracted, maybe you will need to right click on the executable and select install as admin. I did not have to. Make sure that you are actually extracting all of the files. Otherwise The USB driver will not install. HRD is just an executable download, just double click on it after it has downloaded. 73!
Hi thanks for commenting here. No the free version doesn’t have the Icom 7300 listed as a radio, so you’ll need to use something else. I have an article here that covers it: www.k0pir.us/icom-7300-ham-radio-deluxe-setup/ 73!
Glock w4zxt N3FJP has great logging software, but it doesn’t include much for rig control or anything for digital modes like ham radio deluxe does. When I use N3FJP’s logging software I can use it along with WSJTX and Fldigi for digital modes. It works really well. For strictly logging I like in N3FJP. All I can say is have a look at both of them and decide which one fits your needs best. 73!
I have this same rig and he'd. Your videos are super helpful.
Tim Smith thank you for watching and thanks for commenting. I really do appreciate the input. 73!
Awesome Rich. Love your custom profile. Thanks for sharing

How do eliminate the tuning dials of bands you have not currently selected?

Thank you, I'll give it a try tomorrow on the day off from work due to holiday. Will post what happens 73..from w3qin Andy from Philadelphia pa
Nice video. But when is Icom and Yaesu going to wake up and supply rig control software for free, like Kenwood has been doing for years?

Been trying to download the driver. Am I correct that the system administrator can only download this ? Same for HRD?

Ham Radio with K0PIR would you recommend hrd paid or n3fjp for logging with the 7300

Ham Radio with K0PIR gotcha. Yeah I didn’t know if a spectrum has came out yet. That would be nice
