      Im looking at buying one today. Do you recommend buying a “TekPower TP50SW 50 Amp 13.8V Analog DC Power Supply” along with it? I see a lot of people talking about having this power supply unit.

      @@frankwc0o Thanks for the reply as Im very new to this. Im trying to find out is it necessary to buy a power supply and a tuner along with my ICOM 7300? I don’t know if Im purchasing unnecessary items but Im tired of procrastinating and just want to pull trigger today so I can get my equipment and start getting things set up.

    • @frankwc0o
      @frankwc0o  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thedivinethree333 If you are using your radio at home, yes a power supply is necessary. As for a tuner, if your antenna is not resonating, then a tuner might be helpful, but the ICOM 7300 has a built in tuner, for those antennas that are not so off from resonating, then the 7300's tuner should be enough. As you know, buying a tuner and power supply, the cost of your system will cost more.

    Question: Can you change the Span (zoom in) while in FIX screen mode? As you get about 3 pixels per USB channel on 20m band. I don't like the fact that the waterfall display shifts (when moving the cursor left-right) in a quite ugly way when in CENTER screen mode. Visually I would prefer the FIX screen mode, but that I would like to set the start and stop frequency, as for voice you can discard a quite big chunk on the left side (CW and digital). So you get more pixels per channel.

      I saw these on ebay. IC-7300 for $850-$1000ish. Is this the same radio sold in the US by the normal ham radio sites or a sold in Japan only version? I'm pulling the trigger on one any day now (waiting to find a Black Friday deal) and VERY CURIOUS about the Japan version.

    • @frankwc0o
      @frankwc0o  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@akcharlie1960 i’m pretty sure the Japanese version is different. If you’re a ham operator in the United States I would buy one that is specifically made for the United States. If the prices are at 800, you might consider buying a new one. Sometimes I’ll go down to $1000 or very close to it.
