I live in the south of Norway, and two days ago they reported in the news that smoke from the fires on the US westcoast had started to appear here. Which is pretty insane and certainly speaks volume about how big these fires clearly are. I can only hope for your sake that you get some rain soon and/or that they at least manage to contain them. This is a horrible tragedy to observe, stay safe 🙏💞🙏

Learn some things about history. Unfortunately, such a naive solution is not realistic. There is evil in this world, and the only thing that keeps the forces of evil at bay are the forces of good.
California needs to reassess their policies regarding controlled burns and preparation to prevent these massive fires from occurring. It isn’t an issue of dollars. It’s an issue of prevention and preparation.

No. The authorities name the fires like they name hurricanes or tornadoes. Usually the fires are named after a street or an area it started near.
Just the name they have gave the fire.

California has Eucalyptus Trees imported from Australia, Big mistake, those trees are filled with Oil and they Explode.
the Eucalyptus were planted mainly along boulevards and are not near these fires. The get huge; I don't see them any more outside of some wind breaks in grape growing areas. The San Gabriels haven't burned to 100 years; long overdue considering we'd run X country in that breeze up in Santa Anita canyon, and knew in grade nine that you didn't build housing there. So, of course, they built housing there, right on the ridges for the view, the most exposed kind of place for fires to do your home, and fast.

Every fire and each division on every fire has limited resources. These firefighters did a valiant job with the resources available. You had a chance to see a fine representation of the tactics used and tasks performed by engine crews. They responded to spotting fire over the line, defending a control line and then responding once fire overwhelmed the line. You got to see hand crews put out a spot fire, helicopter extinguish a larger spot fire too far from the road for hose lines. You saw engine crews move up the line responding to an escape, as well as a tender filling those engines. This was an awesome ten minutes of video; capturing so much in one short video.
Finally a news reporter using a decent voice level with minimal exaggeration

This is horrific! My heart goes out for those that have homes, only to lose them. What a nightmare. I can't praise the Firefighters enough. They truly are hero's. Thank you are wonderful firefighters. God Bless you all.

im just chillin within 2 miles or so from the Northern August fire, im on my property with firehose and 6000 + gallons of water with 15 gpm well waiting for the fire if it comes... they tried to evac our area but no one left besides oldest people. We don't run from fires like all the other southerners...

Federal government needs to sell land to californians and allow us to log again to prevent these fires and make money in the small local communities... I had my property burn in 2015 and the news didn't even talk about the 500,000 acres burning in northern california because it wasn't near the big cities...

Looks like a city the fire and looks like a volcano but it is not a city or stuff like that. It a fire which is horrible since many people lose there homes and for no reason people get burned alive over the fire.
