Thanks for the great and detailed review. I don't have this pair of Pumas, but I run in the Velocity 3s and Deviate 3s, which are very good shoes. I'm 61 and have been running since I was a teenager. I think I've run in most brands over those years. I only tried Puma a few years ago, as they had fallen behind in the running shoe race, but I'm happy I did. They have definitely caught up! The one thing I like about the brand is they use the same foam in all their shoes but tweak the nitrogen in them depending on their use. Many brands use cheaper foams in their trainers and reserve the best foams for their racers. They are also not stupidly priced.

My experience is that Pumas are very durable. I have a pair of DNE2s on almost 700k and another at 400k and both are going strong. Big difference in feel with DNE3 though, which I have run a few kms in and have in the box for some racing in the spring. Much improved.

Because I’ve only done a shorter run in the puma I don’t yet think it’s fair to rule it out for a marathon, but I can say that the AF3 is absolutely ideal for marathon distance and probably still the very best option for it 👍
😂😂 sometimes these accidents happen and you end up with all colourways 😂😂. The Vaporfly 4 will be interesting, I’m looking forward to seeing how they change from the 3.. I’m expecting them to go back to the more aggressive feel of the 2. I’m not sure on the pro 4.. I will likely give them a go at some Stage but is see a lot of people having sizing issues with them and ending up with bleeding feet when Doing over half marathon distance. The Puma are excellent based on first impressions, but for longer than half I’d still go for the AF3 or asics Sky Paris I think.
Normal, marketing and conventional wisdom (that has Puma as second tier) is strong. But you too will eventually realize that you were wrong and Puma are actually better, (not only value-wise, but probably overall)!
@ that’s true. I’m definitely happy to hold my hands up and say that for too long I was a Nike snob.. since last year I’ve spent more time in asics, NB and now looking forward to spending more time in the Puma.

@@macoyupadoodle they’ve changed the foam a little for the V3, and added stack height too. They feel like Vaporfly now, super responsive and really fast transition through the rocker. If you liked v2, you’ll love v3 👍
seems like a trend at the moment when people like a shoe and its good they limit the availability to drive up hype,i call it the Jake and Logan effect, then the next iteration will be higher priced and because the previous was so good people will buy the next and realise it aint as good 🤔
It definitely feels very intentional by the shoe manufacturers that’s for sure. These are at the better end of the pricing market compared to other carbon plated manufacturers but I suspect version 4 will as you say be more expensive 👍
Just saw you finally got the metaspeed sky Paris aswell. Are you planning to post a comparison between the edge and the sky? I would be interested in hearing your opinion about both :)
I did mate, and I’ve done about 30k in the Sky Paris so far. I plan to do a long run in them tomorrow and will then share my thoughts between the two. They look very similar but the ride is very different so I look forward to that one. Have a great weekend 👍

Nothing too crazy for speed as there was so much ice, but the Sky Paris performed so well and even exceeded my expectations for how well they coped with the icy conditions. They aren’t as aggressive as the edge, but for longer distance they are spot on.

Hi mate, how does the softness compare to the Adios Pro 3? I have the AP3 and I'm looking for a new one but a bit softer.

Is there any difference between these and the earlier released orange versions, or is it only aesthetic. Great review!
