2020 Polaris RZR Pro XP 4 Review and Ride

- After the thrashing that we gave the General we figured another vehicle would not show up but boy were we wrong. Polaris RZR sent us this 2020 Polaris RZR Pro XP 4 seater for a Review and Ride session at our local Stony Lonesome OHV Park. We promise to give you an unbiased review of this machine and to really test it out how you all would! At first glance you can tell that the 2020 Pro XP 4 is different than any other UTV in the lineup. I'll give you the clift notes, More Storage than ever before thanks to flat folding rear seats and 8" more wheelbase. One piece frame that makes this Pro XP RZR handle like it is on rails. 13 more Horsepower upping it from 168 to 181 out of the same 925cc engine. Beefier suspension components, axles, and better cooling to the belt make this a great machine if you like to haul a lot of people or gear while Going FAST! This a 2020 Polaris RZR Pro XP 4 Premium review so it did not come with dynamix shocks, radio, or center display but we will put it to the test just the same. After a day of thrashing on this Polaris Pro XP 4 we Love how fast, agile, and capable it is but have concerns over how high the low range gearing is. We would throw some 32s and beadlocks on it immediately and couple that with some lower gears in the trans. Build a cage and bumpers for it then roll out with 3 friends screaming and laughing all the way. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.

I try to do my best to give some real world information.
Of all the reviews I watched, this one is the most fair and unbiased I've ever seen.
That is the Goal! I get tired of the over sponsored reviews. This is real world unbiased opinion. Plus we thrash these machines to see what they can really do.
Nice! I'm 6'4" tall and I love that someone made a machine for tall folks to fit. My teenagers are just as tall. Polaris you have my attention.

Awesome review. I love all the footage y’all shot and it was very well tested. I was sketched out in between the two trees and it was very entertaining. I was extremely happy to see how the pro xp4 did where I plan on riding !
Glad you dig the review! It hasn't gotten the views we would like to see but we will blame that on it being a 2020 and the 2021s just came out. We will continue to do these types of reviews on many more machines though so stay tuned for more.
Busted Knuckle Films keep doing reviews like this and I believe you will get the views your looking for in time. Most reviewers on youtube just showcase the cars and there not very informative.

Great review!! I'm going to order a two seater this May..After tons of research it looks like the right machine for me. I ride Northern California mountain trails and Oregon coast dunes. I will for sure branch out to some other terrain.

Great review! Best test/review I've seen on the pro with lots of various terrain and honest commentary. Loved it. Sounded pretty clunky and squeaky, I assume the clunking was the wheel bearings?
Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah pretty sure it was the wheel bearings, they went back to steel knuckles to fix this in the 2021s

Got the 2020 rzr pro xp 4 in cruiser black, back in august, and I love it man! I’m about to slap on some 32s and a 3” lift and I think I’ll be good to go!
why a lift? they will fit 32s.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo for the ground clearance, I’ve gotten stuck in some ruts due to setting on my frame. The combo of 32s and the 3” lift will majorly help

Thank BKF for the review! I am in the market for a 2021 Ultimate 4-seater. I'll be doing some mild with the family and some wild with the fellas. It was nice to see a complete all encompassing test of the capabilities of the ProXP-4. I'm more on-board then ever and can't wait to purchase our new SxS. Also thanks to Polaris for giving a used machine to these guys to test. Not only did they do your machine justice it proves Polaris makes a GREAT product!
Michael Tillotson the 2021 models solve a lot of the issues I talk about besides the low gear.

We get to keep it for 3 months, I have a set of 32s and beadlocks I am about to bolt onto it, maybe even some paddles and go play in the dunes.

Nice review, we ride slow casual mountain trails in Va and West Va. Would that turbo machine be overkill or does the pro's of the pro model outweigh the pro's of the non turbo xp 1000 4 seater we are considering ? I would get a pro xp sport but I could add whatever accessories i want and still have a more capable chassis. Thanks for any insights.

Watching in cab footage I can see why people are complaining of the rattles. That glove box lid center console is about to come unhinged. By the way, order my first SxS, 2021 RZR Ultimate

Click 6 seat belts have a recall on them. The stiching is completely coming undone. So if your running them in your car take them back to polaris.

whats the clicking and clacking sound as you were crawling over the rocks? suspension or is it something else? didnt sound reassuring lol
on the first year Pro XP's the bearing carriers got sloppy because they were aluminum.

@@BustedKnuckleVideo Yeah this is making me also consider the new Turbo R, but it sounds like you really want to go with the ultimate trim, because of the Fox live valve. Turbo R 4 Ultimate is pushing 40k. So Im in this position where I kinda need to decide between 72" in a premium trim or Pro XP 4 Ultimate, because Id really like to stay under 40k. Do you have any thoughts?
the live valve/dynamix shock package is awesome, but getting a pro shock tune might be good enough for less money. That is the route I am going.

Different springs and some 32s and it would be close. I'll be putting 32s and beadlocks on this test unit to see how it does so stay tuned.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Did you ever put 32 inch tires on it? I am curious how it handled the extra weight on the clutch. Not sure what brand tires to get in the desert but I know I want more ground clearance.

on my pro xp4 with 2 girls in the back my friend in the front going 35 miles it was hitting the bottom back. and i got 32 tires

@@BustedKnuckleVideo Strange, sure was a lot of clunking and clicking. If not a CV, a blown out A arm bushing. Seemed to be coming from the front right.

This high performance utv niche of the offroading market has never really interested me. They are too long, not enough ground clearance and i have seen way too many videos of them breaking suspensions. I would rather have the slow utility cousin to these. The smaller single seat models are kind of cool but i would always prefer to ride a regular old 4x4 atv. Good review but these big four seaters are just not for me.

What about the interior hot problem on PRO XP?
I never had an issue with mine. You can always take out the tunnel and line it with heat shield
