I hear so little music that interests me these days. Then I heard this. I cannot get enough of these guys. I feel silly for not discovering them sooner.
After hearing this and paying attention to Sparks (having been a huge fan of their 80s hits) - I am now a believer in the whole catalog, and this is a genius classic - can only wish to see them in concert somewhere near Shreveport, LA
... Wow! This at least sounds exciting in these, let me say, boring times of latest "popmusic" where people often don't even know anymore where "their music" came from. But really: this is great! Thank you for this video.
intellectually sexy.. provcative.. subversive.. smart.. the best amazing pop independent weird abstract amazing music created by two 50 something californian brothers. Three cheers for amazing unique music!!!!!!!!!
I love This Song After Hearing It On Dolce And Gabbana Advert. I Love D&G And I Love This Song, It' Seriously Cool. D&G Adverts I Think Are Weird But They Make You Remember Them Which Is A Way Of Advertising.
Sparks is truly one of the most innovative bands of this (and last) century. Bravo! When's the compilation DVD coming out?! I'd like to see a video for Suburban Homeboy, please.
i think they were a big hit, but just a style of music that not everybody admitted to liking, since they were signed to atlanic records, warner brothers records, and even roadrunner records for some of their albums, they're respected throughout the music community, regardless of what genre people claim to like, most people know of and love this band
I'd say Sparks are similar in the sense that their weirdest stuff is akin to The Residents' least weird stuff. Not that their is any copying going on, but just that there's an affinity towards similar sensibilities. I love both bands.
If you like this, try 'When Do I Get To Sing My Way' (talk about biting the hand that feeds you) and 'The Rhythm Thief' (scary AND biting the hand again!)
The Residents are a mysterious experimental band who have refused to show their faces throughout the years thus they hide behind eye-ball masks, they wear tuxedos too. the music is close to anything to do with Spark's stuff, but the visuals.. i'd say they're very similar to this video!
@gibokubrick the whole part really, the lyrics and all is so familiar... Like from some movie but i cant place it. the art style is so Courage the Cowardly Dog though. haha,
I think hes talking about she doesnt have to wear perfume to fall in love you love your girlfriend/boyfriend for who they are regardless if they wear perfume, aftershave or not
Fantastic so underrated American band. Active since the late 60s, the Mael brothers are still active doing great stuff. New album this year.
I love this song, I first heard it on BBC 6 radio four years ago, and I had completely forgotten about it!
Sheer genius as always- kitch, quirky & always swimming against the tide-Excellent
Sparks are one of the greatest bands ever , never get tired of listening to their songs
Gotta hand it to Gilmore Girls, the best show to find great obscure old songs.
I hear so little music that interests me these days. Then I heard this.

Adore this song. And the boys play a great live gig. Fab!

The CLOR remix is amazing!
so weird but intriguing

@terror0earth I guess you're talking about the part from the piano! Me too, where does it come from?
If you like this, try 'When Do I Get To Sing My Way' (talk about biting the hand that feeds you) and 'The Rhythm Thief' (scary AND biting the hand again!)
The perfect blend of Roxy Music, Kraftwerk and Pet Shop Boys
yes...except that Sparks were first...
Its weird to hear this as a full song cos im so used to the snipet on katiep who smells :)

@SARA12280 What are your 3 all-time favorite Sparks songs? (Too hard to pick just one, ya?) :)

@stadtaffe2 Pshh you can like Jay-Z and Sparks at the same time. Don't need to knock other artists to say that this is a great song and video :)
I think hes talking about she doesnt have to wear perfume to fall in love you love your girlfriend/boyfriend for who they are regardless if they wear perfume, aftershave or not
I doubt it...think of the free advertising. Yes...great song.
