    quite possible. one of Sparke's favorite composers is Shostakovitch. and one of his favorite pieces is The Rite of Spring. So it is possible that Sparke was paying a somewhat homage to Shostakovitch.

    are you kidding me? The Rite of Spring was written by STRAVINSKY. Don't tell me that you got confused between the two because they are pretty distinct from one another...

    no, but i do see how you could think i was saying that. that was poor word choice on my part. i was stating that Shostakovitch was one of his favorite composers and one of his favorite pieces was the rite of spring by Stravinsky. I then restated that Shostakovitch was one of his favorite composers. sorry for the confusion.

    It's so difficult for me to pull off this ppp chime part in the finale... I have to be so gentle... Which is pretty difficult for me - considering my forte is more - well, forte marching percussion.

    • @ChannelOfAviation
      @ChannelOfAviation 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** But the great thing of this peace is exactly this.. One moment extreme fort and two seconds later we are in a absolute piano. That makes this peace so interesting. But I can imagine, that this is quite hard to play.
      P.S. Drummers are the best :D

    I figured. A quote that direct had to be an allusion to the composer.

  • @DeepcarBlade

    It's very good, but give me the original Brass Band version every time. There's much more depth to the sound when played by a brass band, and the interlude loses so much when not played on trombone.

  • @samerissa5731
    @samerissa5731 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Still doesn't beat the brass band version for me...still awesome to listen to though :).

  • @zippybogard
    @zippybogard 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Brilliantly played piece of wonderful music but the solo in the middle movement should be played on the Trombone as it is in the Brass Band version, since in this case , a brass intsrument is clearly more suitable for this role than a woodwind intsrument!
