Thanks for the ride. It still makes me smile when the Japanese Engineers/Drivers wave to each other. I know that was a thing for us American Engineers. The massive amount of railroad that Japan has built is quite impressive. This ride was a diesel car but there was overhead catenary for the entire trip. These rides are a lot of fun for a retired US railroader. I'm learning the Japanese signal system and that makes it even more interesting. It's similar to American signal systems but on the opposite side. Just like American systems you have to be qualified on the line because there are what we call "non conforming signals" and that's due to the physical characteristics of the line. Thank you.
