We have this program in our country, where they pick the worst/funniest answers too and the questions are often tricky. But often it's much worse that these answers here, believe me. One example (not from the worst ones, those don't translate well): Q: Is it closer to Europe from Bratislava (capital city of Slovakia) or from Brussels? A: I think that from Brussels. Because Brussels is in Europe, right? And Bratislava is not, it's a country. 🤡
4:10 "They wanted freedom" Nope, wrong answer. The reason where the illegal taxes thrown at them. This was a consequence of the Seven Years War (1756-1763). The British Empire was basically broke when that war ended. Their solution was to increase tariffs on all goods in the trade with their colonies, the 13 colonies in particular but also colonies in other parts of the world like India. This was not legal according to their own laws, but they did it anyway because they needed the money. This led to the colonists protesting, then asking the King to intervene on their behalf. When it all started it was not about independance at all, it was about getting illegally taxed.
I wonder if they know, that the French Louisiana was not the state Louisiana in modern borders, but was more or less Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama and - Louisiana...
Also that France didn't own all that territory, but only the trading rights to it. And that France had sold the rights to Spain and then purchased the rights back from Spain so it could sell them to the USA.
@@alicemilne1444 The fact that it was only trading rights isn't enough to stop a good genocide, after all the reason the French needed the money was to pay for their own genocide in Hati after the successful slave rebellions, those floating gas chambers don't come cheap.
