The Infected Steam Description: The Infected is a survival crafting game set in an open world sandbox. Build your base defend and protect yourself from wildlife and infected Vambies. (Hybrid Vampire-Zombie) A virus was a lot more serious than anticipated, a treatment was looking promising. A drug trial seemed to work, many were getting better and fatality rates were dropping. But somethings not right. DNA is mutating and unexpected side effects are piling up, changing people. We call them Vambies, they seem to look like mix between a vampire and zombie.

A damn good game, developed by one single person, with constant updates and listen to the community. Really something of rare to find.
crafting system is kinda like the system from green hell
a lot of it is a near-direct copy from green hell, even the style of the backpack, how tools are stored etc, the crafting bench mechanic as well only in the infected its wood not stone (other things like the exact number of max logs you can carry, blueprint before build for structures etc)

This system is a direct copy from Green Hell to the point that the developer should probably consider changing it. It isn't inspiration or a successor.. it's a stolen copy.
@@khalbrogos while i agree the need to change it vs should change it will depend a lot on the laws in the country the devs are in
in australia for example they can do this legally under derivitive work laws :/

I always use this game as my example of what a single dev can do and how amazing a game a single dev can put out when you have indy devs that have teams even small 6 to 10 person teams and they still have games that don't even remotely come close to The Infected. I'm talking to you Survive The Nights.

These games will never get big without multiplayer
Although the UI is kinda basic, the game is very detailed, ans the dev is constantly working on this game to make it better. Actually the next update looks like it's going to ditch the current ui for an immersive survival guide book like it the forest. There is a decent amount of content in the game so far, and it's quite enjoyable. I absolutely loved the part where he freaks out when he sees the infected lunge through the door window
You should try playing project zomboid or green hell if you haven't already. I guarantee the shenanigans that would ensue would be HILARIOUS

Used to love this game. Doesnt make much sense tho anymore. Moved all the fish to just one spot. All other bodies of water are empty. Added vehicle, roads, electricity, but absolutely no guns. Got a ninja sword but the dev refuses to add a gun. Pointy sticks are only fun for so long....
