I and wife spend a month in Turkey but only 2 days in Goreme. Did green and red tours with a guide but what I see in Brian's video, I think we missed out on a lot. Next time, we plan to stay there for a month and rent a car as many others do.

I only have two full days in Cappadocia. Besides the hotair baloon ride, I may visit the Castle or open air museum. Is the underground city suitable for small kids?
I went in February and had no problem. I would suggest contacting one of the hot air ballon companies...just search "hot air ballon Cappadocia" and i am sure several will show up.

yes....there are tons of companies so i'm sure it won't be too hard to get. just give your self a few days cause weather is the only thing that can stop the balloon. it needs like zero wind.
depends on the duration of the trip and with which company. It isnt' cheap, but i promise the experience is EPIC! I think my 90 min flight with breakfast, transport and champagne was $150US

Thanks! Best is to take a flight from Istanbul(SAW) to Keysari....Then a 1 hour drive. I recommend a rental car if you have the budget, but their are buses too.
We flew in to Istanbul and took a flight to Keysari. We pre-arranged with a tour company that picked us up from the Airport. Town we stayed was URGUP. It was an amazing experience as we stayed in a Cave Hotel. Taxi ride from the Airport will cost you about 300 TL or $ 50 -$60. Best is to go with a tour, there are so many places to see. Plane is the easiest, and sometimes the cheapest. You can also take a bus. You can fly into two airports that are close to Cappadocia...One of them is Kayseri Erkilet Airport (ASR) located in Kayseri and nearly one hour driving to the center of Cappadocia region. The second one is Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport (NAV). Once you arrive, you can rent a car or take a transfer shuttle. If you have the budget I recommend a car, but if you don't you can still get around by bus or tours. You will have an awesome time, it is one of the most picturesque places I have ever been to.

There are a bunch of companies, some cheaper than others. I think it cost around 150 Euros...not sure in turkish lira. It is not cheap but it is definitely worth it.

I think so. I was there in February and they were flying. I think they fly year round as long as it is not windy or raining.

Thanks! I would recommend renting a car since your time is limited. Also if it isn't too late I would suggest staying in Goerme.

I was in Turkey in November and in February. It was a little cold so just take a jacket. I hear it is quite warm in the summer.
