Venice Beach is different for some reason. People drink with open containers, smoke weed, sometimes people are missing essential clothing, fights of all sorts, graffiti, sex and so much more in front of the police and they don't do anything in Venice Beach. I see it all the time. Once some little black kid in a Tesla rolled up to the pizza joint and popped out with crazy eye and an attitude and as soon as he turned towards me, I knocked the kid in the face. It was obvious that he was a minor and shouldn't be driving, and I didn't know if he was armed. As soon as I knocked him once, he became furious and started dancing around in anger lol it was the funniest thing to me and my girlfriend. But soon after I smacked him some cops walked up that had seen the entire incident. The kid jumping his car and drove away. The cops didn't chase him but they said the car was stolen. I didn't get in trouble for smacking the crazy gangster kid in the face when he stepped up to me with unknown intention.

As I watch this video, I am saddened. Why? Because It brings back memories of when I used to live in California in the mid 80s. Every morning when I got off work (I worked 11p to 7a), I would go for my daily walk on the boardwalk, listening to my music on my Walkman device (no cds back then). After my walk I would go dip my feet in the pacific ocean for a while, grab a bite to eat and go home relaxed and ready for a good sleep. It was safe, none of this we are seeing now. How times have changed. Just reminiscing. 😢

They demanded to take all my hard earned money. I pushed them and ran away. The two guys literally watched me the whole time (6 hours) and knew exactly how much I made! Another day, I had a jealous heckler who kept bothering me while working, and I said, "Let's see you draw!" The heckler looked embarrassed and walked away. I get drug addicts panhandling me every day because they know I have cash. Drawing live portraits is not for everyone. It's random and unpredictable. You gotta be ready to deal with all kinds of different situations. Is it worth it? Yes. Santa Monica is a little bit safer, but you need a permit.

Every morning when I got off work (I worked 11p to 7a), I would go for my daily walk on the boardwalk, listening to my music on my Walkman device (no cds back then). After my walk I would go dip my feet in the pacific ocean for a while, grab a bite to eat and go home relaxed and ready for a good sleep. It was safe, none of this we are seeing now. How times have changed. Just reminiscing. 😢

Everywone, seems to think there problem is they dont have a home, but, i repeat but, their real problem is why dont they have money to rent a room or home or buy a bus ticket to somewhere where they can become nonhomeless. Their real problem is they like to do drugs, and or stay plastered on alcohol, therfore they cant hold a job, or pay for housing, or leave to a place where they can afford a home.

They demanded to take all my hard earned money. I pushed them and ran away. The two guys literally watched me the whole time (6 hours) and knew exactly how much I made! Another day, I had a jealous heckler who kept bothering me while working, and I said, "Let's see you draw!" The heckler looked embarrassed and walked away. I get drug addicts panhandling me every day because they know I have cash. Drawing live portraits is not for everyone. It's random and unpredictable. You gotta be ready to deal with all kinds of different situations. Is it worth it? Yes. Santa Monica is a little bit safer, but you need a permit.
