You should rank every movie based on a Disney ride. (The 5 Pirates movies, Country Bears, Haunted Mansion, Tomorrowland, Jungle Cruise.) not counting Tower of Terror because that’s a TV movie and hard to find legally. That’s what I’m going to do. Seeing this movie on Tuesday and posting that ranking sometime that week.
I've seen some people hating this movie but I absolutely loved it. I wasn't expecting it to be bad but I was REALLY surprised with how much I loved it.
I like that you acknowledged the weird, annoying 21st century jabs at old customs. Like the amount of times they brought up Lily wearing pants was a bit much. Her outfit did look strange though like it didn’t fit with the rest of the aesthetic because back then a lady would definitely be wearing a dress.
Dwayne Johnson really has just exploded over the last 5 years. Movies are coming out all the time where I'm like "oh another one with the rock" 🤣. Not that im complaining cos he is my favourite actor
I'm surprised it took them this long to make a Jungle Cruise movie considering the ride is based on the 1951 Humphrey Bogart/Katherine Hepburn film, The African Queen
Nice review, Sean! Totally agree with you about the surprising chemistry between Johnson and Blunt. I knew they’d be good individually, but I wasn’t expecting them to be quite as entertaining as a duo (and trio when you throw Whitehall in there too).
As a longtime fan of the channel, I will say that one of the rare times I've majorly disagreed with you is in your Pirates franchise ranking. I grew up on the Gore Verbinski trilogy and hold it in very high regard while the last movie in the series is to me what the Last Jedi is to many original Star Wars fans: a shocking mistreatment of beloved characters, breaking of pre-established lore/mythology, and disrespect to the films that preceded it. I'm curious if your thoughts on Pirates have changed at all over the last 4 years! Looking forward to seeing Jungle Cruise and talking movies way too much!
Just saw it yesterday and I thought it was a decent summer blockbuster. Maybe it wasn't perfect but, if you put your brain aside for 2 hours, it's good entertainment to relax with popcorn and friends. I also loved playing comparisons with The Mummy, The African Queen and all those classic adventure movies. Finally, it wasn't a sequel which is a big plus for me.
For me, Jungle Cruise is just a solid adventure. It's an enjoyable film, that was able to make me laugh a lot, but it's just too familiar to me. Everything about it felt like something I'd seen before. I still enjoyed it a ton don't get me wrong, but I don't think it has much rewatch ability to it. If I'm in the mood for a fun adventure film like this, I'd rather just watch Raiders.
I definitely want to see this movie looks awesome anything with the rock I'll watch it love adventure films this is gonna be a great one pirates of the Caribbean the mummy Indiana Jones style all in one it'll be fun👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@@sweetpeach3649 just now seeing this, but yes. I just watched it because my family wanted to watch a family movie but I was shocked by how actually good it was.
the budget is 200 million and I was expecting something between 90-120 why is it so expensive? for example Jumanji that is a pretty similar movie costed only 90 million and I get they have to recreate London and Rock is the highest paid actor of all time but 200 million? seems a lot to me
Because Disney pays a lot of money for cast. The 2 main stars are both super expensive, Dwayne being the most expensive actor right now, and they use a *crap ton* of CGI. It’s actually pretty sad how terrible the CGI is for the huge budget.
I loved it. I used to work at Disneyland and rode the Jungle Cruise way too many times, so I got all the cheesy dad jokes. I constantly heard those on the ride. So it was a good adventure family film.
I find it kinda funny in Disneyland the ride is right between the Indiana Jones ride AND Pirates of the Caribbean which jungle cruse is pretty much a mix of
I don't get why everyone is comparing this to The mummy 1999. Just because it takes place in an exotic setting in the early twentieth century where a beefy hunk guides a prim British intellectual and her fey brother on a quest to some cursed ruins in the hope of finding a macguffin that holds the secret to immortality and accidentally end up awakening an army of the dead....oh fuck.
hey Sean quick question did You get a screener for the suicide squad if so are you going to do a review of it anytime soon I have heard great things about it but you are the most reliable critic in my opinion
i cant wait to watch this movie the rock is my favorite actor so i have been waiting for something new for him a good while now edit after watching dang i was hoping it would be higher on the scale than a b and 7.5 i havent seen any of the movies he mentioned so this should be new for me idealy but if you think about most recipes have similar ingriendts so borrowing ingredients isn't to big of a deal great review sean
The trailers I saw before seeing the movie didn't showcase the Pirates of the Caribbean aspects. Therefore I didn't mention it by name in my review. But the second half is very Pirates of the Caribbean.
So apparently Clownfish TV released a review of Jungle Cruise today that likens this movie to Romancing the Stone, Indiana Jones, The Mummy, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Hmmm. Guess they watch your channel and just regurgitate your content.
The letter grade is how good of a movie he thinks it is while entertainment scale is just how entertaining it is despite it maybe not being the best movie Like imo space jam a new legacy while a really bad movie imo was still pretty entertaining to watch once That’s I interpret it at least
I watched first 20 minutes of this movie and honestly speaking the film's visuals, CGI, vfx and sets look very artificial and unnatural. Also the acting performance look mediocre. I lost interest with the movie.
So what was her character arc? Oh wait, she didn’t have one. How does a 400 year old Spanish guy learn to speak perfect English? This movie was absurd, ridiculous and weak. Tons of recycled content, and plot holes. Way too much CGI and of course Disney needing to shoehorn in a gay character for zero reason. Why would you make a kids film… with no kids? Train wreck.
I'm a sucker for big, cheesy adventure movies like this.
You should have a blast

I’m doing a ranking on that in a few days.
I've seen some people hating this movie but I absolutely loved it. I wasn't expecting it to be bad but I was REALLY surprised with how much I loved it.
Indiana Jones + Pirates of the Caribbean + Jumanji = Jungle Cruise
It’s kinda funny how this movie takes elements from Indiana Jones. Considering the ride is located right next to the Indiana Jones ride at Disneyland.
How funny is it that I waited for this movie to get released just so I can play Weird Al's "Skipper Dan"?
There’s also this The Lost Atlantis feel (I’m not sure what is the actual name of the Disney movie that was filmed around the early 2000s)
I really want to see it the trailers look like it’s good!!!

Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
I did not know that, but that makes total sense.
Nice review, Sean! Totally agree with you about the surprising chemistry between Johnson and Blunt. I knew they’d be good individually, but I wasn’t expecting them to be quite as entertaining as a duo (and trio when you throw Whitehall in there too).

So excited for this movie! Also, can you do an updated Pirates ranking in the near future?

Dwayne Johnson is good in everything he’s awesome
Cap
Cap
At this point every character he plays is just “Dwayne Johnson”
Dwayne is awesome but I wouldn't say he is good in everything. Like Jumanji very good, Skyscraper not so good.
Dwayne Johnson couldn’t act to safe his life
When I was little their were a tons of Dad Jokes by the person leading the tour.
I’m so excited for this, got tickets for tomorrow a week in advance
Woah i got 16 likes on my comment thanks to the people who 👍 my comment
I give it a B
But on the entertainment scale a 8.0
Emily Blunt would be fantastic as Chloe Frazer from Uncharted.
Yeah she would. Nice idea!
Emily Blunt is blonde. Chloe is brown
@@pedroagustin9989 She can dye her hair. She’s done it before.
@@andersaleckson6025 ok
@@andersaleckson6025 I was about to say so myself.
I was expecting it to be good, but it subverted my expectations and was great. As a Star Wars fan, I am appalled.
Seeing this movie later this week. So excited
Watched it yesterday
It was really funny
Had a few twists but overall enjoyed it

Great review. I’m doing a double tomorrow of jungle cruise and then suicide squad in the cinema! Looking forward to it
Sounds like a great movie day
This movie was really good, between this and Cruella Disney has been stepping it up recently
Was Cruella actually good?

Review James Gunn's The Suicide Squad
I loved it. I used to work at Disneyland and rode the Jungle Cruise way too many times, so I got all the cheesy dad jokes. I constantly heard those on the ride. So it was a good adventure family film.
reminded me of Talespin mixed with Popye and the mummy
any plans to review the green knight? im seeing it in an hour and cant wait.
I’m so hyped for that movie I am seeing it today, I hope you enjoyed it
Seeing Sean talk about Jesse Plemons makes me wonder if he's watched Black Mirror
"I'm a tour guide on the Jungle Cruse Ride. Skipper Dan is my name..."
Do y’all come up with the dad jokes you say
Jack Whitehall was hilarious in this movie.
I find it kinda funny in Disneyland the ride is right between the Indiana Jones ride AND Pirates of the Caribbean which jungle cruse is pretty much a mix of
I'll see Jungle Cruise eventually, I'm seeing Stillwater very soon.
Not to mention the villains were taken straight outta pirates if the Caribbean 5
i got emily blunt mixed up with Annabelle Wallis from mummy, they both looked and sounded smiliar until i rechecked
Can you rank The hostel movies? i just Get The trilogi
I don't get why everyone is comparing this to The mummy 1999. im convinced disney only makes period pieces so they show a group of old men being misogynistic
It would be cool to rank all of the Disney Theme Park Ride movies with Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland is a section at Disneyland, but it's not a ride.
Looks like a good movie!
I'm just gonna wait till it's free on Disney+
Alsp i liked where he explained the past and im just vibin the music
The Metallica?
U gonna review pig and green knight?
I was at camp so I couldn't see your videos after your G.I Joe ranking video.
hey Sean quick question did You get a screener for the suicide squad if so are you going to do a review of it anytime soon I have heard great things about it but you are the most reliable critic in my opinion

The Rock is not an actor. He couldn’t act to save his life
Imagine a Disney ride cinematic universe lmfao
Please do the green Knight 💗
I'm watching this tonight!!
lol remember the haunted mansion ride based movie with eddie murphey? it was hilarious
Great popcorn and nacho movie 🍿
The trailer gave me big Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Indiana jones

You should rank PT Anderson’s movies
Rank all the movies based on Disney rides
Romancing the Stone? No. Romancing The Rock.
What's the main difference between your actual grade (letter) and the entertainment scale grade (number)?
The letter grade is how good of a movie he thinks it is while entertainment scale is just how entertaining it is despite it maybe not being the best movie

The dad jokes are a reference to the jungle cruise ride and the cringy jokes on the ride
I actually really liked the movie, but there was too much CGI in it.
What about jack Whitehall
When will you do the suicide squad review
When is The Suicide Squad review coming ?
Probably next week or so since the movie comes out next Friday
C’mon Sean, put some respect on Jack Whitehall’s name. Didn’t even mention him at all in the review.
Batman: The Long Halloween Pt. 2 video?
Love the Metallica in this movie
Is this movie already out?? I didn’t even realize!
no its not out yet comes out Friday july 30 he probably went a prescreening or something like that
