- It's time to open another Upcrate art supplies subscription box! This one is number 44, from April 2023, but I am opening mine in August 2023 so I'm a few months late. Upcrate sent it to me for free but I'm not sponsored by them. Let's see what mystery art supplies are inside this time, and can I make some fun art with them? All shall be revealed in my video, haha!

Artspaze belongs to Upcrate or the other way around, I'm not 100% sure. Also about the red metallic pen. Last year December I believe we got a box with a set of those pens. The red ones were faulty in a lot of sets (mine included). Upcrate then contacted Spectrum Noir to replace the faulty pens, but Spectrum Noir didn't have enough replacements because there were sooo many faulty red ones in the boxes, so Spectrum Noir had to manufacture those specifically to replace the broken ones. That took longer than expected, and that's why this pen ended up in the box randomly. I wish they would have explained. I only know because I contacted Upcrate about it when I tried my red pen and it was just dried up already. Hope that clears up the confusion about the red pen a bit :) I adore the kitty btw, Becky! It's adorable! ❤

@@BeckyTregear I do hope that the replacements work as intended 😂 otherwise they would have to make another new batch 😆 ah well, mistakes happen and they immediately worked on fixing the issue, so all's good. I just thought I'd clear up the random metallic pen without information in the magazine, because so many were confused (I already mentioned it in other videos about that box as well) glad to be of help ☺ hope you're having a wonderful weekend, Becky

I love art subscription boxes cause you put it away and forget then when you're bored or feeling down, open a random one up and bam, something to cheer you up and a new activity to do or learn. I think Art Crate is probably the best one cause it gives so many options for supplies to play with and not just one. You did amazing for your drawing of the house and kitty. Its such a beautiful building.

That looks like a good box! Agree that the two green paints looked very similar shades!
That was the only issue really, otherwise the paint set is pretty good!

Klood is a brill artist, I've followed her for years, I adore all 3 artworks you did with this box, I especially loved the Tudor house! And I can totally understand you when you don't always get inspiration for artwork, I've been struggling for months with artblock and it's driving me insane, and even more so now I've had early access to Inktober 2023 prompt list!! Are you going to be taking part Becky? I'm going to try my best as I really love doing it :D
That's a great haul from an art box!
I ended up sticking Kloodwig's picture into my art journal, with my "Mondrian/Picasso" piece on the opposite page, The colour palette matches very well! As for Inktober; I got the prompt list too this morning. I probably won't really do much because October is always a busy month but I'll maybe get to do some little drawings. We'll see!

I only subscribe to them once a year and I got this box, I was so shocked to find my two favorite mediums, alcohol markers and watercolors! It was so fun to combine them I definitely will do it again 😊 your house painting turned out lovely 🥰

fun video and nice paintings 😊 as far as I know, Artspaze is like the 'housebrand' of Upcrate. Even heard today that they seem to have the same CEO but that is not confirmed I would have to research that.

I am jealous of the red pen. I got a set of 6 of those in a subscription box last year and the red one never worked. They are so pretty though. You got a lot in this box. I did 9 months of Upcrate and I never had as much in a box as what you have here.

Hi Becky, just curious where you got your swatch stamp from? That would save me a lot of time when I'm creating palettes for different things. I seem to swatch a lot.
I can see your cat painting as a sticker on that paint tin. I like decorating different palettes with stickers following a theme of what the palette was set up for, it makes them easier to grab when I'm in a hurry.
They are Waffle Flower swatch stamps. I bought them from Amazon US, but I've seen them on Aussie websites too. They were pretty expensive but I find them to be very useful!
@@BeckyTregear Thank you. I see they sell a lot of other interesting stamps for journaling too and I might have put some in a shopping list lol. They are quite dear but all the art supplies in NZ seem to be dear anyway. I suppose that's not a bad thing, I only buy what I need and use and don't have an art clutter problem.......yet 😄

A few other artists with TH-cam channels has mentioned that Artspaze belongs to whoever makes the subscription box.

@@BeckyTregear I suppose it's like using the box to advertise their own supplies. It's probably cheaper than buying in from other manufacturers, too. Whatever the reason is, they still do a good box 👍
