I live in Merida, and I have the joy of having a supplier of cerdo pelon, it is really the waygu of pork, I cooked a Boston Butt roast yesterday with cerdo pelon meat, and it is amazing!! Actually in the Slow food market there is a women called Jennifer Underhill that sells this amazing meat, and also sells delicious lamb, all the meat is Local.
I love how you give us a history lesson of your visits..... it makes the experience you are experiencing so much better!!! Thank you for sharing your trip thru Mexico..... I had no idea all those ruins were there! Love your videos!!!
Every time I see someone's video on Chichen Itza, I feel so lucky to have visited it when you could still climb it. At the time I was a heartbeat away from having to have a helicopter get me back down, but step by step on my rear end, I avoided that. Amen. That is so much steeper than you can even imagine, the steps are so high and narrow. They were meant to be done from side to side if you know what I mean, someone probably told you that too.
They stopped allowing the ascents in the early 2000's, I believe. I climbed up the 1st time with my mom in summer 1994, but when I returned with both my parents and my wife in summer 2012 (yes, 6 months before "Doomsday" on Dec. 21st!), they had already roped it off for several years.
@@EatSeeRV If you answered this without much (or any?) help, then I'm SERIOUSLY IMPRESSED. Even if you got some help from Google translate, is this YOUR Spanish Liz, or YOUR Spanish Dennis, or BOTH? Wow. (No, seriously: WOW.)
I visited Chichen Itza from Cancun some 40 years ago. You had so much more freedom to roam around back then. I was able to climb to the top of El Castillo and see the entire complex and nothing else besides trees for miles. Nothing was blocked off by the barriers that I saw in the video. It was touristy even back then but not nearly as bad as it is now. Glad that you got to enjoy your adventure 😊
One of the beautiful places in Mexico, beautiful Yucatan and all country, you always find many beautiful areas of each state, Welcome back Liz and Dennis!!!!!!!
Wow! Liz and Dennis this was another awesome video. Packed with so much to do and see in that area. The food was mouthwatering, and what an experience. Looking so forward to the bonus video on Friday. Muchas gracias por compartir! 👍🏻😎🇨🇦
The pyramids and cenotes were awesome. Liz is the jumper! Always good to give thanks!! Strangest thing: Ok, not in our camper because we were tent camping; however, a skunk came through camp and decided to hang out. Guess what, you’re doing things on the skunk’s terms because you cannot yell at it, shew it away, or poke it with a stick. Ok, you can..........But, the consequences would be terrible. Luckily the skunk FINALLY decided to leave.
So cool her restaurant is in the top 20! Wow has Chichén Itza changed! I went there in the 80’s and it was maybe $5 to get in. I think our bus to & from Cancun was $10 or $20 at the most. It was so amazing. OMG the scorpion - had a surprise scorpion at my friend’s house we were staying at in Cancun. They flushed it and it took several flushes. They were locals and had never seen one there before.
Hand made tortilla are the best! (4:03) I am glad that you guys are enjoying your staying in my hometown (besides the sour experiencie you guys had) Saying hi once again from the UK
Yes we loved our stay there. It was a minor sour experience that could happen anywhere. We definitely wouldn't let it take away from all the good in the city. And yes, handmade tortillas are the best! - Liz

Hey Liz, Now you can pronounce la “erre” muy bien! And I can tell that the Cochinita was DELICIOUS because of the way you used the tortilla to sweep the plate!
@@EatSeeRV Yep, even your Spanish writing skills are impressive, INCLUDING the accents and punctuation! Wow. You should try picking up French, Portuguese, and/or Italian. (Since my Mexican parents raised us bilingual Spanish/English, I picked up French quickly in high school and my sister picked up Italian in only 1 SEMESTER in college. I also picked up some pretty decent Portuguese ONLINE and have been told I speak fairly well by some native speakers!)
Google translate is essential for writing. I still have a long way to go before I'm fluent in Spanish. But I can get by. I need more time to practice regularly!
Yes, we did that drive on the scooter! The roads are very nice between Yaxuna and Valladolid. Once you turn off 180 in Piste onto Calle 22 it becomes a tight 2 lane county road. The pavement is still nice, just watch out for the topes in the villages before Yaxuna. Enjoy! - Dennis
We ate at Rosalia's, last week. We would not have found her, if it had not been for your vlog. The food is fantastic. The experience is well worth the price. But, according to food historians, pigs were introduced to Mexico by the Spanish in 1547. So the food does not have 1000+ year history as depicted. Something to keep in mind.
Yayyy so so so glad you enjoyed it! Yes we shared that in the video, the pib cooking method has been in the Mayan civilization for thousands of years, but all of the ingredients used for chochinita specifically we're introduced after the Spanish arrived, including the pig! - Liz
Stunningly good! It is very appreciable, and at the same time emotive the way you guys are enjoying my country. People like you guys are more than welcome in Mexico. Again thank you for the diffusion and the respect of my culture. You two have been my best friends for the past weeks during this hard times. Hello from Budapest.

those tamales look like hallacas my boyfriends mom makes, they're Venezuelan, Venezuelan food is not spicy at all though lol. the Mayan ruins are on my bucket list, like so many other things lol
The reason why chichen itza is way more expensive is because only in Yucatan there is a state office called CULTUR that gets 50% of all the entrances, and the other 50% goes to the federation, and also chichen itza has a better infrastructure and a big museum.
My son lives in north port Fl. They have had scorpions invasion from the neighbors wood pile?? One stung my oldest grandson it had gotten into his shirt😱😳. So you can’t say they aren’t in Fl.
Further excavations revealed that it had nine platforms, a single stairway, and a temple containing human remains, a jade-studded jaguar throne, and a so-called Chac Mool. The Chac Mool is a type of Maya sculpture of an abstract male figure reclining and holding a bowl used as a receptacle for sacrifices.

We love helpful comments for our readers, but many times you share facts we also share in the video as if it was missed which makes me feel like you didn't watch it. - Liz
@@EatSeeRV Ha ha I was racking my brain trying to figure out how I could work that word into a comment. I looked up what attracts scorpions into houses and the website says "Moisture, Darkness/Lack of Lighting , Small insects that scorpions eat and Rotting wood/leaves".
Since I don't live in Mexico, I have no other Mex. ID to use, but I left my Mexican passport at the hotel and had to pay the full Sunday price for foreign tourists at Tulum ruins! Learned my lesson!

If they hadn't confiscated our mic we would have definently included that and the 7 echos in the tlachli feild. Sorry dude. - Dennis
Hey Liz,
Now you can pronounce la “erre” muy bien!
And I can tell that the Cochinita was DELICIOUS because of the way you used the tortilla to sweep the plate!
¡Gracias! Creo que fue porque tomé español cuando era niña. - Liz
Was the drive safe for you guys on the way to Yaxunah?
Yes, we did that drive on the scooter! The roads are very nice between Yaxuna and Valladolid. Once you turn off 180 in Piste onto Calle 22 it becomes a tight 2 lane county road. The pavement is still nice, just watch out for the topes in the villages before Yaxuna. Enjoy! - Dennis
Ahh scorpion! I found a massive earwig in my coffee after I’d already drank half of it while rv’ing in Kelowna last summer.
Yikes, those are creepy too and floating in your coffee... Yuk! - Dennis 🤢
- Liz
How do y'all keep the cats cool when you are gone?
Stunningly good! It is very appreciable, and at the same time emotive the way you guys are enjoying my country. People like you guys are more than welcome in Mexico. Again thank you for the diffusion and the respect of my culture.
You two have been my best friends for the past weeks during this hard times.
Hello from Budapest.
Wow! Thank you were glad we could help you during hard times and that our videos show Mexico in such a good light. We love being here. Wishing you well - Liz
those tamales look like hallacas my boyfriends mom makes, they're Venezuelan, Venezuelan food is not spicy at all though lol. the Mayan ruins are on my bucket list, like so many other things lol
wow!!! to be gringos are very well informed 👍😄👍😄👍congratulations
Aquí son muy comunes los alacranes, tarántulas, pero en especial las serpientes, y las más peligrosas como la víbora de cascabel y las coralillos.
Yikes!
Love the videos!!! They have gotten me thru this year long plague!!!
So glad we could take you with us on our travels and bring some joy during this crazy time! - Liz
Oh my gosh -- no where is safe! Hope he was okay!
We did Palenque this morning. $170 pesos per person... we felt it was worth it.
Palenque is AWESOME! We really enjoyed it and yes comparatively there are so many more affordable ruins to explore. - Liz
We are headed to your favorite RV Park tomorrow
Yayyyyyyyy! Please tell Thelma hello!
Not just a scorpion, it was a Mayan scorpion.✌️😜
🤣
WOW! Scorpions are bad news. Check your bed covers and cushions. Be safe y’all! Dan - Oklahoma’s Tumbleweeds
Luckily it was just that one! But yes not a fun critter to find in your bed.
Had the stink bugs a few years ago.
Yeah! the Chac Mool were what we referred to as "medium men". - Dennis ✌️
Random question, @eternal summer rising but do you actually watch our videos or just comment facts about each place without watching? We love helpful comments for our readers, but many times you share facts we also share in the video as if it was missed which makes me feel like you didn't watch it. - Liz
Don’t feel bad... we lived in the foothills of Napa Valley and had scorpions and bats !
Wow!
👍🏽🙏🏻✌🏾
It is well know that scorpions are attracted to *moistness* in RVs.
Haha did you say that because you know my affinity (aka hate) for that word? - Liz
@@EatSeeRV Ha ha I was racking my brain trying to figure out how I could work that word into a comment.
I looked up what attracts scorpions into houses and the website says "Moisture,
Darkness/Lack of Lighting
, Small insects that scorpions eat and Rotting wood/leaves".
Haha well, you nailed it.
ok see you on friday at 6pm
😃🙆♂️🌮🌯🍺🍻🍺🍻🍟🍟🌭🍕🌭🍺🍻🍺
Yay! - Dennis 🍻
I don’t know how a scorpion could get in your rv unless it was on you when you came in.
Nationals can get there for free on sundays
Lucky! - Dennis ✌️
Since I don't live in Mexico, I have no other Mex. ID to use, but I left my Mexican passport at the hotel and had to pay the full Sunday price for foreign tourists at Tulum ruins! Learned my lesson!
Sorry about I thought I had seen the video. I want to be surprised what I see. Let you know in a few minutes.
#NativeFloridian St. Pete Beach
Mosquitoes are attracted to black clothing, that's why Mayan are dressed in whites.
Is that true? Wild!
Flying squirrel
What?! A flying squirrel in your rv?! We have to hear more.
It looks like A smalle Chipmunk It's very cute
I love your X Max 👍👍👍 We have one also
Nice, It's a sweet ride that's for sure! - Dennis ✌️

Haha! Yay thanks for tuning in 😁
