Tokyo had to cope with a pandemic and did a great job in adjusting the model of traditional olympic games. Paris re-invented the concept for the 21st century, bringing the games from the stadium into the city, back to the people !!!

I will never forget the song "東京物語Tokyo Story" that started the closing ceremony. Some people may feel that because of this song, the atmosphere seems "gloomy" or even "negative" (阴间). But it seems to me that after the world has experienced a catastrophe, we can no longer pretend that some things never happened especially life and death. In the face of life and death, something we've been dealing with for the past two or three years, the emotional changes we go through are not as simple as the movie the song comes from. About the movie, about the pandemic that is about to pass, about life and death, more than anything, I feel that although the future will be unpredictable, but hope still exists. Thanks to this song, I can have the space to digest my inner empathy. That's my interpretation, but I'm not sure if others would have a similar view to mine. i watched Paris 2024 in a noisy bar without the comentary.... came to TH-cam to re-watch Paris2024 but it's not available yet :(( so I catch up with this closing ceremony for Tokyo 2021 because I did not see it. I actually love the Paris2024 opening presentation, regardless of what some people trashing for 3 mins of it because their interpretations.
