      Not true, im Black and I grew up in a neighborhood in San Francisco (Hunter's Point) when I was a kid that I would never go to late at night. Some areas are really not safe that late at night, especially on foot. It was a really bad place during the late 70s through the 2000s. Its only changing now because of gentrification, but that has taken a few decades to change the area and it still is bad.

    Not going to lie, watching you fellows enjoy Burr has been so enjoyable. The things that Bill says that go against the grain in the US and you agree with him, gives me a little hope for the UK. There are so many things that are upside down here that we always feel are way worse everywhere else in the world, and to see some guys in the UK who think the same normal people in the US do is extremely refreshing. Cheers and I hope to chill with y'all if I ever make it back there!

    I am a NY native. When I was in high school, we took a class-trip to Harlem- a very bad place after dark in the 1980s. We were a group of 25 students and 5 teachers. We had a plan to get out of the area before the sunset. Well, our trip got delayed and the sun had already begun to go down. We had to make it below 96 Street fast. So everyone began to run. As we were running everybody on the street was staring at us. Upon arriving at 95 Street or so we stopped running. Everyone was winded and glad to make to the train station for our train back to Long Island.

    • @boki1693
      @boki1693 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I live on Long island as well. And you are talking facts. LOL. Sounds like I am about 10 years older than you cause most of my experiences with Harlem was when I was a truck driver in the mid 80's. I had to deliver mostly cigarettes to the Bodega's on mostly either Broadway or other major North/South streets. Even then my average delivery was $10,000 or more and my company would only accept cash from the bodega's that I had to count in the store. So you can imagine how tense things got for me. LOL. But as I left one store, the people in the store would call my next stop and then walk me out to the truck carrying guns everyone could plainly see. When i got to the next store two dudes would be waiting outside with guns to escort me in with their cigs. But ironically I never got rob in my truck in Harlem. I got robbed once on Madison Ave and once on Park in midtown. 4 People popped the back of the truck on Park avenue and ran off with several cases of cigs while I was delivering in Grand Central. On Madison they stole the iron safe that was bolted to the floor while I was delivering in a Hi-rise.Go figure. And to be honest, I thought Bedford-sty in Brooklyn was far worse. I think Mike Tyson is from there. Harlem actually had a lot of thriving business'. Bed-sty looked like a bomb exploded in the middle of it.

    This is an old video, but it reminded me of when I lived in NYC. I lived on the Upper West Side (very White), and I went to visit my cousin in Washington Heights (more mixed, but not the best neighborhood), which is north of Harlem. I went home at like 2 in the morning, and accidentally got off at 132 St. There was only one other person in the station, a Black man in his 30s or so, on the other platform. He looked at me, and he said, "Honey, you are at the wrong stop."

    Check out some Big Jay Oakerson from This Is Not Happening, or if he has any other clips out there. He's a dirty comic but a great story-teller. I know this is not happening gets blocked a lot so maybe he has some other clips out there, but he's fantastic. Great reaction as always.

    If you play Chappelle's faux-documentary montage about being a blind racist, the dude would abide and perhaps even subscribe

    I think the girl he talked about is his wife. She's super funny too and keeps him in check

    Bill Burr & Louis C.K. are the top dogs in my book. Dave Chapel is right there with them, less active though.
