Thanks very much Michael! It was nice to make another video. I was beginning to think of just sticking to sales, but when an idea comes along like this one did, it feels nice to pass it on to others. Glad to see you're still a subscriber!
Holy crap dan welcome back. You have no idea how much your videos have taught me over the years and I am so grateful for that. I know you are busy but try to make videos more often then every 2 years lol.
Yea, so glad you made a video! I learn sooo much from your videos! I know they can be a real pain but, you are a real resource. I so hope you continue. Like I said I learn so much.
Dan happy holidays!! Hope you are doing well in this stupid year :) Its been a difficult one for me, hope better for you. I know you find making these videos annoying but please man make some more we your fans value them and appreciate all you do! Best Jason
What tool do they use on the newer APX6000 to 8000 series radios? Moto is notorious for deleting a tool with one part number but re releasing it with another part number and maybe with a slight modification and Motorolas upward price modification as well.
I'm not exactly sure what the model number is, but if it is the wrench that removes the nuts and top of the radio, Motorola was asking over $300.00 for it at one time - not sure if they lowered the price since or not. China makes the same wrench and sells it on ebay for around $40 bucks or less. I have one, it does the exact same thing and is build very well.
love watching your videos since I got a xts5000 but I noticed my ptt is starting to crack and before changing the housing I seen a side button assembly replacement and wanted to know how to remove the old button assembly from the housing. thank you
@@mattm1817 Some of the PTT assemblies on ebay say that glue or adhesive is included. You MIGHT have to very carefully grind the inside edges of the housing before you can properly get it into place. You pry out the PTT first, then slip a tool in to break the adhesive from the original, but it might be worth a try.
If you require Phase II, APX is the only way to go. If you just need analog and P25 digital, you can pick up 5000's now at pretty decent prices. You may not get the best for $400.00, but you wouldn't do bad. You just have to know or have someone to program them for ya.

Hi there! I have lots of radios up in my ebay store. I still haven't broken into carrying the APX series, due to the high prices of both the radios and components. If anyone is looking for a quality APX unit at a great price that is done right, Rick Thompson on e-bay is your best bet. If you need any XTS Series or Mototrbo Series radios and/or accessories, just let me know what you're after :) I'm really glad that people like these videos and find them of some use. Surprised you are still messing with the 5000s lol. Would think you're a apx guy now. Good video. I think there is Chinese clones of the tools out there and a couple 3d printer templates out in wild.
Yep, still buying them and selling them. Lots of police departments still buy them and others get them for HAM. Military contractors buy a lot of them. I'd love to be an APX seller, but I'm finding it is extremely difficult to find legitimate suppliers selling legitimate APX units. Thanks for watching :)
@@snarlingrabiddog5150 yeah it's a shame the hack jobs are getting bad with anything under r18 firmware on the apx. True we still use the 5000s, 2500s. I'm waiting for you to have a green housing on that or one of them red ones floating around the ebay lol. I wish they'd make those in model 2 for the 5000, 2500. Hello, I don't buy them. I can't find a reputable seller. I've only had a handful of APX units and those are all sold.
If I send you my radio can you program it for New Jersey
