Pate grew up in Georgia and he’s talked us up since before the first title… lol I’ve been watching him for years, he’s one of my favorite CFB opinion shows.

As a diehard Alabama fan I have nothing but love and appreciation for Kirby. He's a true professional and a hell of a coach I'm just sad we're not going to get another Saban vs Kirby match up.

@daricocooper4963 All I can tell you is enjoy every season don't get lost in National Championship bust so many fans forget where both our programs were before both of them. I literally can't believe Saban's retired I was a senior in highschool and now I'm a 34 year old time flies.
@@AshtonAndrews89 I totally agree with the statement about the championship hype. I’m a former college football player so I’m a very realistic fan. Saban was good for college football because he put out so many great college coaches.

Extremely nervous about Carson Beck’s big play ability. He’s got to make big plays this year. And Bobo’s play calling in critical situations is cause for concern. Incredible talent at every position alone has never won Natty’s. Ever!!
What didn’t you like about his play calling in the big moments? The fact we didn’t win the game? Results based judgment of play calling is not fair and that’s something most college football fans need to learn including yourself.
@@jayhagan8151 several things. Bobo creates no pressure points. He doesn’t target secondary weaknesses. That should happen on every play. He doesn’t challenge linebackers. Great OCs manipulate defenses. He plays straight up predictable football.

So how is he not targeting weaknesses? What play-calls did he make where he failed to target weaknesses? Bobo is a great play caller and he was all year. No. The program discussion is based on prior performance over a closed period of time. In this instance we're talking about the past 3-5 seasons. What you're talking about is the best team in any given season, which is a completely different discussion.

@@adamnbeast I would argue that Nick Saban was the standard. Alabama won't fall off of a cliff, but they aren't going to be the unbeatable team they were for many season under Saban (or at least not every other year like they have been recently). I'd also like to add that Ohio State is looking absolutely disgusting for next season, pending how their quarterback situation plays out. Plus Michigan's program is going to be totally chalked after the sanctions for cheating come down. Personally I think their natty should be vacated as well since they cheated in games during the season in which it was won, and their cheating impacted recruiting over several years, etc. (I'm partially biased because of how scummy/arrogantly they responded to getting caught after decades of sucking ass lol)
Another thought... very happy to see SEC schools finally forced to play in the cold after so many years of refusing to travel north past a certain date. Alabama's roster last year for example was around 70% players from the deep south or Texas. It will be very interesting to see how teams like that handle a first round playoff game in January, in say... Happy Valley, Columbus or Ann Arbor instead of playing in a dome 50 miles away from their home Stadium (which has always been BS, there are domes outside of the deep south). To clarify, I do think Georgia will have a bye first round this year, just speaking more generally.

@@Stangvette Thanks for the thoughtful comments. Saban was the standard for head coaches, was, but his teams over the past five seasons were not. That team is in Athens. The weather thing is a non-factor talking point for teams not in the Deep South. Great teams aren’t focused on the weather, they have more important business.
Then win.a national championship again before Georgia goes and 3 peats several times
