- What's up AVI, welcome back to another video! Here we have a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray 1LT. It has 455 HP and good for 3.9 0-60! That's really quick for a base level Corvette!

As others mentioned definitely a 2LT. Clues are HUD, memory seats, front curb cameras, heated and vented seats, frameless rearview mirror, etc. At 8:36 - "not too many differences in exhaust..." There will be no difference with standard exhaust. Performance exhaust (option NPP) will provide a substantial difference. At 9:22 - "I wish it told me my 0-60..." Select the Performance menu (left arrow on right side of steering wheel), scroll down and there is a 0-60 timer which starts automatically upon acceleration. Not safe to do these acceleration pulls on a winding, narrow 30 MPH speed limit road. Find an open country road or take it to the track.
By the way, I got my 2019 2LT, Torch Red (of course), 7 speed manual, just under a year ago (at age 61) and I absolutely love it--such a good looker and so much fun to drive.
Ok review. Gotta do a little homework before making these so you’re not guessing about equipment. The roof is in the hatch wrong. It actually sits further to the rear and locks down in place. The rear fender vents are functional but not for the cooling the brakes. One side cools the transaxle and the other cools the rearend. Taken right from the C7R race car. The gas cap locks electrically when the car is armed to prevent opening. I also don’t think that being more refined and easier to handle makes is an old man’s sports car.
The rear vents are only function on z51 and up.

And this is not the 1lt. This is the 2lt. The 1lt does not have the front bumper cameras and does not have the HUD.

Actually, this one is not a 1LT because it has the small flag emblems on the seats, and it has the HUD. It's either a 2LT or 3LT. Also on the regular stingrays, those rear fender vents are not functional, the functional ones are on the higher tiered models; Z51, Grand Sport, etc.
Anyway, it's still a hell of a car, enjoy!

@@AmericanVsImports this isn’t completely true lol, if you have an auto car the driver side rear vent goes to a heat exchanger for the transmission, on the passenger side there’s nothing. Z51 cars have a heat exchanger for the rear diff. Only the 7 speed manual cars have both rear vents that do nothing. And yes I agree with the other guy this is a 3lt

Question; If I'm not tracking it, and it's basically going to be a weekend fun car, do I really need the Z51 package? Would it make that much difference?

It’s no Porsche but the C7 is definitely refined. I like it despite being in my 30s. I like not having weird noises. The cushioning that prevents noise from the plastic panels are a must for me. I couldn’t stand my previous economy cars because of those plastic panels rattling.
That's at least a 2lt there, it has front camera and the heated/cooled seats.

Are you sure that a 1LT. I got a 1LT it has no front camera, HUD, Memory seats and heated/vented seats. Traded in for a Zo6 2LZ (2LT for stingray) and it came with all those feature

No the rear side vent is to cool the transmission which is over the rear axle not to cool the rear brakes.
The best thing about Vettes is they’re cheap to insure, because the insurance agency actually look at it,as a old man car.

The rear brakes on standard and z51 cars are cooled on the bottom of the car. They have a vent that catches air and directs to the rear calipers. This is standard on all models except GS and Z06. Can’t say I’ve driven a challenger to compare but I’ve run several in my c7 z51 and I have no problem pulling away. My car has a cam, CAI, mid pipe and a tune though. I pull away from charger hellcats too. Def not an old man’s car lol.

That engine is filthy! I've had my C7 2LT Z51 for several years, and love it ! Get the manual, as any sports car enthusiast should... I've had zero issues with my 2014 and get compliments every time I take it out.... although I am not and old man, but my kids may say different... Great car for a great price!

i have a 2014 but wish the transmission was in the front,,,i dont like a power shaft spinning that fast near my elbow and im hearing that it needs expensive work at 60000 miles,,,
Why do you need more horse power ? All these young people modify these cars and then realize it's a waste of money to do .it's not like they race them on the track .then the cars start to malfunction do to so many add ons
I don’t necessarily want more horsepower, just more drama when driving to feel on the edge a little bit!
That’s definitely not a 1LT, it’s either a 2LT or 3LT , if it has Napa leather doors seats and dash

No, go into settings scroll to exhaust mode change it to open the baffles and it is very loud at all times. No need to buy a aftermarket one.
I think this is a great car review. It is extremely informative and it is extremely great! I would have never have known so much about the car unless I watched this video. The guy, Tim who is reviewing the car is extremely informative and I would now want to purchase this car. As he says, the car is not for him but it is for the people who would like a good fast and noticeable car. One time I was considering buying a nice car and now I know I would buy this car

Not an old mans car. Younger people just cant afford nor properly care for a vette. Its simpler to park their charger uncovered in the driveway after sluggish performance from their hemi tick😂 they look cool tho

Its who ever can afford one, plus family men of six its not practical, now 70 with C7 Z06... My first vette i was 40 several vehicles four kids, C4, C5 Z06, C6, now C7 Z06, its who got the resources to pay insurance and big Car note.

I had a 72 454 coupe when I was in college.
Got married, bought a house, had kids and certainly couldn't have bought a Corvette.

I've always believed that weather is clothing jewelry or of course in automobile it's what you make it you make the item the item doesn't make you so even if you are older with a sports car if you got your s*** together you're going to stand out in a positive way this car is beautiful it's a great representative of American muscle

I've noticed since owning a Corvette from my late 20s to 50s that the only people who call the Vett an old man's car is guys who wish they had one , but wife rules them. Or it's a young guy who can't afford one at the moment.
Yes it is an “old man’s sports car”. I purchased my ‘17 ZO6 at 60 and seven years later I’m still happy with it!

Since this video featured the 2019 Corvette I was referring to the 2019 ZR1 which has 755 horsepower and has a curb weight of just over 3500 pounds.
@colehara that would definitely qualify. This new zr1 should be fast but that Zora will be amazing for sure.

Well, I have a Challenger and a Vette. Better sound system in the Challenger. Quieter ride. Take 3 or 4 friends, or fold the seats down and put a ladder and tools in it. I loose religion every time I get in and out of the Vette. My 10 yo grandson says about the Vette, "Grandpa, that is a sweet car.." I'll never get rid of the Challenger. May trade the Vette for a Zo6 or a Hellcat.
