Yes, that’s part of the site that’s getting demolished. Think that bit was particularly run down/derelict.

The town needs a theatre/concert hall surely?

@@Scotdrone It was only built in 1992! Council seem to like building vanity projects while neglecting local amenities.

@@sgillespie9028 it was a privately owned shopping centre that the council have bought for the land to build a new theatre/concert hall (which there is massive demand for - remember all the people protesting about the old decrepit Town Hall getting closed?). I don’t think that fits the description of vanity project. A vanity project is something that isn’t really needed. The town centre needs this for footfall and the associated boost to the night life etc from having a focal venue / leisure attraction.

@@sgillespie9028 "It will bring money and jobs into the town" is what they said, same as the howgate, then no one can afford the rents without charging customers a fortune for things Amazon deilvers for pennies, Done nothing but take money from the town and jobs? Whose pal owns the contractor whose bringing this down? Jobs all right. The mall was the vanity project, used to have a thriving high street, Grangemouth town centre was mobbed as well, now you've got McDonalds drive throughs and 24 hour Asda full of self service tills that aren't employing 30 people anymore.

@@Scotdrone Funny, A thing I see people asking for a clean public toilet in the town and up the park and a proper bin collection so that all those rats aren't running around Manor street, it's not the rats fault that shops and peoples rubbish are all over the place, they're only trying to clean it up but they send out folk to kill the rats rather than fix the problem, it's humans that made the mess, It's the seaguls that burst all the bags open and scatter it everwhere. You should mibe fly your drone closer to the ground on occassion you would see this sort of thing.
