- I bloody love racing motorbikes...
Thanks to Triumph and the whole Macadam Racing team for a brilliant weekend, and sorry for breaking a perfectly decent Daytona 660
And thanks to Liam Searle for the camera tekkers...
And special thanks to Double Red for unearthing the retro podium pics!
The commentary, makes the racing so much more interesting. Really enjoyable to watch.
As a former club racer you shared of the feeling on being back in the paddock and feeling alive is spot on. I miss that. My favorite picture of me is sitting in front of my camper on the infield of Loudon NH NHMS eating a steak surrounded by fellow racers post racing for the day. I tossed my camera to a bud and said. Take a picture of me. This is the happiest I will ever be. Sure I’m happy but that feeling of racing bikes on a track surrounded by friends you complete with is second to none.
Great story
Could not have said it better, so I won't add anything. Perfecto
Was that . Atkins 56 on the kawasaki?
Love the Loudon compound. Used to autocross in their parking lot, and did a TSD rally after dark on their road course years ago. Need to get back on two wheels. Cheers!
Why did you quit ? Did fear take over for you ?
Having the videographer makes this a mega watch
Ah mate I’m sorry too hear this, fingers crossed your fully fit soon and back on a steed 👍🏻
All good thanks! Back on a bike already
Fingers crossed but it probably hurts for him to cross his fingers haha
Haha, very true, he’ll have to use his other hand then!
@@almcculloch8906 In more ways than one.
As you get older you don't bounce as well, but you don't put yourself into the positions that make you need to bounce.
Oh yeah. Great riding, son. You've still got it.
Nothing gets my jewels tingling more than a 44Teeth upload straight after work
That's a bloody good effort mate. Give yourself a pat on the back.
Nothing harder than coming back to a top level sport after a long time away. The self doubt, the rustiness, feels like its so much more difficult to soak in new information etc. You've done yourself really proud there mate, no easy feat.
As an ex Australian Superbike Racer, I take my hat of to you sir. My children weren’t even a consideration until well after I finished and they have purchased me a track day pass at my old home track being Phillip Island. To be honest, I’m extremely nervous about it even after over 1,000 laps and in front of 120,000 spectators trackside. Well done! 👍👍
Damn always wished I pursued racing but never had the money for it, most fun I've had is trashing a 600 on broadford! Really want to go to PI on my rsv4, but good luck on track my guy! I'm sure once you get back on the track everything will come back and you'd be the fastest on the day!
I wouldn't worry about it. Soon as the smell of race fuel , other bikes nailing it in the revs. After the first few laps you will settle down and start really enjoying it. The only thing I recommend is getting a chiropractor to give you a few once overs especially your neck adjusted. You would be surprised what doesn't flex anymore lol. Most of all just go and enjoy yourself. Thats all that matters. The bikes have all these riding aids we didn't have so it appears they have bigger balls but. Hand them a bike that doesn't have rear slide and wheelie controls , they will run back to their super fast scooter lol.
Fabulous effort Nige well done on the points scoring, great filming. Gutted for you on the take out, fair play not outing the culprit. Wishing you a full recovery and more great 44 vids soon
Great to see Andy Ibbott in the paddock. I remember following his racing escapades via Fast Bikes.
That sensation you mention is international, i am a Dutchy, 52 years old and still club racing 👊
Shit man, you were almost handsome back in the days
😂
9:27 to ~9:38 I work in production, and that was basically the best bit I've ever seen on any bike channel. Music was spot on too; working with the right talent is a big plus, obviously.
That said, huge all around. 44 Just keeps getting better.
Watched it live on Eurosport got bollocked for swearing when you got wiped out the Mrs wasn't best pleased when she came in from the garden to see what I was raging about...🤣 Glad you are ok can't wait to see you on track again 👍
Calm down sunshine
Glad you're ok. Your commentary on during your laps is awesome. I'm sure alot of people are going to watch this to get a better feeling about how to run this track.
Broken right hand.... well, chris is going to have his hands full for the next couple of weeks 😂
Great to see Andy Ibbott in the video as well, another legend
Indeed. Andy has helped me sooo much throughout my racing/riding career
Andy Abbott is a fucking magnificent bastard. He helped me twice at a thebikeexperience event for us disabled bikers at Silverstone. ❤️
Awesome effort dude, hope recovery is quick
Brilliant quality in all regards. The people, bike, racing, commentary, humour, production, appreciation of life. Chef’s kiss.
Glad you're okay. Pretty good racing. The narration adds the life to the footage.
That was for real one of the best episodes so far for 2024 (along with R1 build) also Jamie coward 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤ Cheers from Greece
Top work Nige, glad you're OK, great to see Andy Ibbott in the paddock.
I LOVE your racing content. It is the best on TH-cam.
All the best to you. Hope you are fit again soon.
Love it mate, well done and really unlucky to get tagged in that second race. Heal quick and look forward to seeing you out there again soon
Please do the full season next year!!! Been watching you boys from the start and love the behind the scenes race stuff.. This is the ONLY bike channel that covers EVERYTHING for us 2 wheeled lovers..
hope you are on the mend and lack of the “DOUBLE WANK” isn’t pissing you off more than the crash itself 😂
The production quality of this vid is off the charts!!! Well done and unlucky race two
Really nice work with audio and video on that one! Super solid riding as well. Joy to watch
Great video. I'm starting track days next year and watching you guys get onto the tracks have inspired me!
Great video, love all the setup chat. Slick camera work by whoever was filming you, really adds to the video.
Bummer on the crash but props for sacking up and going out to race those serial killers on bikes (these kids are no joke), and a damn good result on the first race. Nothing but respect. Get better soon!
Proper racing is something else, I'm glad they're doing these championships in more places.
Glad to hear you're back to riding already Al
Speedy recovery + enjoy a 🍺!
Thanks! Only just clocked this
Great film. Kind of scary but I guess you get used to it. Fascinating to hear to commentary over the action - learned a lot, mainly how hard and competitive racing is.
Love the race commentary 👏 and bloody good effort too 👍🏼
Get well soon, Bro!! Great riding on Your part! 🙌🏾🤙🏾👏🏾👌🏾💪🏾
Well done Al, the weight difference between you and those whipper snappers must be almost double! You smashed it my babyyyy
Was watching from the chicane on Sunday, that race was chaos! Glad you’re on the mend
Great to see Andy Ibbott in the paddock top chap! Speedy recovery Al
my gosh this bike is gorgeous. The vi,deo is very well made. A proper movie. keep the high quality stuff. I like the racing series, cfmoto, the suzuki endurance and this one! A bummer it's only 16 yo to 21.
Good effort mate, great video, keep racing for as long as you can, we're a long time dead❤
Doesn’t that just sum up the high and lows or peaks and troughs of all forms of bike racing and motorsport in general, it teaches you to try and keep on an even keel, never too high or low emotionally. A factory ride in the twilight of your racing career isn’t too shabby! Speedy revovery🏴🇬🇧
Glad to see you’re up and about and not too hurt! Mega video and heal up soon!
Gutted for the end for you but 90% was brilliant, grew up supporting my father's friend at Mallory,.always around race bikes but not had the chance to ride on track yet, that has to change!
This was awesome. The lap commentary was brilliant!!
I knew it from instagram or wherever it was that you got a knock but still absolutely gutted for you. Unreal job and class video.
Good to see your ok
And despite the incident looks like the rest of the weekend was good and hopefully you’re back out there again soon
Bad luck Fagan. Fingers crossed for quick recovery and most important no complications after.
“Shit happens, we move on” - thanks Al, I crashed recently and I’m determined not to let it weigh on me. Your quote is the kind of thing that helps me with that - thank you, get well soon, and keep doing what you do so well dude 👍
Looks like an incredible series! Here's to a speedy recovery mate!
Great to finally see you on a triumph. You always sing the 675’s praises and always see them in the JHS videos (background). But never see you on one. A detailed vid on the 660 would good.
My favourite 44 type video. Racing with commentary. Love ya work.
taking it like a warrior. good for you. please continue these videos, preferably without crashes. love it!
Nice work Al, bummed about the crash, looked like you were going well.
Was expecting this video after meeting you on Saturday, hope the hand heels up well and doesn’t keep you off the bike too long. Also hope your friend got his van home ok and was able to be repaired easily.
Great video, speedy recovery! You'll be on the grid in no time!
It's my first season racing and I got involved in a big starting grid pile up on Saturday at Donington and it really sucked not being able to race again for the weekend. It was only race 1 and I didn't even make the first corner! Hope you've recovered Al and hopefully you'll be doing some more racing next year!
Great vid as usual. Love your work. Rest up and get well soon.
Glad you are mostly alright. Get well and hope to see you back soon!
Healing vibes matey. You were def looking on for a top ten the way you were riding!
Cheer Up! a solid and bloody good effort! Get better, get back out there and give those kids a jolly good a55 whoppin!
👌👍Great video. Great commentary. Hope the hand heals quick. Thanks
M8TE you still got it! Keep going after it, sorry to see that crash, I'm glad to see you are okay and still full of fight. Get well soon!!!!!
Amazing and quite funny that Triumph have snuck it past everyone..... & after everyone was complaining about a lack of excitement and focus after the launch....that Triumph might have made the 660 Daytona with an eye on Racing after all.....!!!!! Just Racing with the twins instead of Grown up Super Sport.....Really Lovely Looking Bike though Unbelievably Sharp and focussed looking and Seriously sorted the suspension too....!!!!! Thanks So much You Guy's as Always fantastic content too.....!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
As long as you walked away, bikes can be rebuilt 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Go on nige, such a shame you got taken out.. you need to lose that timber and give it a real go and take it to them kids 👍🏼👌🏼 glad your ok 🙏🏼
I’d agree - my lad races in the Sportbike class - it would be great to have someone of your “maturity “😂 about mixing it with the young guns mate!
I was there both days love Thruxton as always provides some good races, Sportsbike looks like a good class watched both races, you did well sir and dont forget to lay on your left hand before you ..............
Excellent racing! You're now fully capable of replacing Jason Statham. Hope your recovery is quick and painless ❤
That top yoke is a work of art
Thruxton, proper.
The Triumph guys are class for making this happen.
Unlucky. Ride safe. 🤕
Good to see you’re well mate, it looked like a good shunt!
Bloody awesome! Cracking vid that and congrats on the points finish! 😎👌
That Triumph looks so cool. Great vid
Good to see you back out there mate
When Air Fence…..Met Air Bag…in the immortal words of “Chas n Dave” When Two Worlds Collide…..lol , glad you are ok pops ….this working your way up to the CB 500 class is going well….👍👌🇮🇲😉🤘😜
Brave man to race in that bear pit with those hooligans!! But well done top ride and i am sure you will be back !!
Glad to hear you are ok. Just bought a RST airbag suit myself so wanted to check if yours worked ok?
Gutted that it ended that way, but a great ride. Top drawer stuff ❤
Urgh gutted mate, what a high on the first day and what a low the next, keep the positives from the weekend, like you said, shit happens and sometimes it's totally out of your control. Another banger video though!
“It needs mirroring to people’s requirements” This guy could be a diplomat at the UN talking to Iran with that skill.
Broke my right hand also 30 years ago. Don't worry you can learn to use your left - feels amazing after a while... 😂😂😂
Gutted, but what a great result up to that point, still got the tekkers! Hopefully the concussion has healed with suitable application of double deckers
Great job dude, ol boy still got it.
Still got it 👏 Speedy recovery
Correct me if i’m wrong but doesn’t he have a prosthetic leg? Cause even if he didn’t, mad respect for the race he drove against the younglings but if he drove that race that good with a prosthetic then i have absolutly no words for the skill and dedication. Hope you get wel soon and that there comes more content like this. Love it!
Great effort Nige. 👍
Hell yea brother, dad bod racers on little bikes. There is never enough gear on those straights.
Great video as usual, many thanks. Hope you get better soon! Did you know NIGE has all the same letters as ENGINE ?
Awesome to see you out at it again. Shit end, but I’d still take your weekend over mine!
Great camera work and editing
Great video. Glad you're ok, rest up mate.
I remember you signing my copy of Fast Bikes in the paddock at Brands in July 2014 Al :)
Love all the videos but the racing videos are the best! Heal fast!
Good riding. That was a sweet bike. Get well soon!
Get well soon and great job scoring points
Wicked effort, hope you heal up quick!
Amazing, you done us proud lad. Did you or the team establish why you seemed to have so much more grip than the others?
Quality opening line Al.... got a like from me 10 seconds in....
Brooo you was getting it! I wanna see you in BSB more!
The highs and lows ! Great video though ! 👍
Jamie Coward, probably the most ironic last name of all time.
