I remember as a kid growing up in Heywood in the 70s and that "tunnel" being contructed on the highway. Great footage I have to go back and have a look at of a few of the stops.
That`s another great video from Outdoorstype...yes, I certainly enjoyed it, thank you.. Correct me if I`m wrong.. buy I read somewhere that the coiled iron structure seen from 02:13 to 02:15 is actually the old railway lines from that area when some of the tracks were dismantled. Mount Gambier is always one of my favourite destinations. Thanks again for the wonderful video and the music..!!
Nice one. 4 years ago, a study was done by Regional Development Australia which talks favourably about reopening this line, reporting cost savings of $15M a year. It was later reported that the reopening was reliant on the upgrade of the the Maroona - Portland line (its Victorian connection) and that project is set to occur in 2026, so maybe not all hope is lost for this line? I remain skeptical but hopeful that this proposal will happen.
Thanks! Cue the annual 'Bring the Rails Back - Mount Gambier MP calls for restoration of the Heywood line' story in the paper. It's like a different state down that way. The Mount deserves better connections with Victoria.
The bridge spans over the Glenelg River were taken from over the Sandy Creek arm of the Hume Weir on the Cudgewa Line in Victoria, NOT New South Wales.
Thanks for the correction, oops! I know all this but it's just me making the vids, so I sometimes don't catch the 'dumb things I made up on camera' when I'm editing. Thanks for watching! Lucky I can 'fix' this one, it'll take a little while to process the cut on the published vid. I make a lot of mistakes btw. I hope you keep watching!

By the looks of it, you might be able to get to the Spring Creek Bridge near Lyons on sketchy dirt tracks. I missed it!
Beautiful video Mike, a few spots there I've never seen or heard of before!
Thanks! I probably pronounced them all wrong. 😂

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks, mate!

Its also a little weird that there are NO safety rails on this bridge. One slip and it over.
Has it been 30years already?
Where's the time gone? We'll all be dead soon - such is life (and death lol)
