I think this is the first home EVER that’s been shown like this that looks legit. People actually live here & she didnt do a makeover before they arrived. It had a lovely lived in vibe. Gorgeous views
What an honest and inspiring story. To be so forgiving and understanding of her Mother and in spite of the problems she may have caused, still to look to the good and be grateful to her. Thank you for sharing.
Mmmmmm? Sorry, but I do wonder if she would of had the same point of view if she had of grown up in poverty. The wealth and culture would of certainly knocked the rough edges off.
@@carolineramage7480 What on earth has wealth got to do with understanding the mental health of her mother?. Ever read Shuggie Bane, or know the childhood history of Angela Rayner?
@@annishilcock4587 thank you for mentioning the book Shuggie Bane. I never heard of it but am interested as it is somewhat related to Susannah’s early life. Regardless, it helps people to learn more about one another.
I love the comment about the house being another member of the family and their protector. That is the perfect description of ’HOME’. What an amazing space. ❤
Hi Susannah, The drawing room gets its name from the 16th century term withdrawing room, where the guests, for example, would withdraw to for the eg entertainment or I guess we may use today as a comfortable sofa space. Lovey home ❤️
Susannah, I used to watch you and Trinny Woodall and loved that show. I think I felt a bit more of an affinity to you in that show. I love the way to communicate to all of us, so naturally and the honesty you show. I grew up in Canada but was born in Rutland; a triplet and we were the youngest of eight. My biological father left us when we were around three or four because he could not handle it. I was separated from them all when I was almost seven and taken to Canada to live. Agreeably, there are things in life that happen to us and it can affect the way you think or the things you do. I never resented my mother for giving me up or was angry, you understand the circumstances. I admire your honesty regarding being a recovering alcoholic. Thank you for sharing your home and a small part of your life with us. You are amazing!
I greatly enjoyed the tour, loved the tranquil colours used on the bathroom walls and the very beautiful wallpaper. Suzanne is so refreshingly candid, a truly delightful woman. Not an ounce of artifice, love that the husbands clothes were draped across the bed, a slice of real life. A very real snack food list too, I laughed aloud at 'maltesers'
Gorgeous house and so comfortable and relaxing. A real home unlike some of the so called perfect houses on Instagram with perfect owners always striving for perfection. Susannah is so refreshing I read her memoir and loved it. She is a real person with a real lived in house. Thank you for sharing
I read a book Susannah wrote a while ago and have remembered it so well and wasn’t surprised when she spoke about her mother and her upbringing, such a natural lovely person. Thank you for sharing ❤
A wanna be your friend Susannah...i have never felt so much instant warmths, authencity, charme and honesty coming from someone over a tv-screen❤ what a beautiful woman, what a beautiful soul.
Perfection! I too want to spend my end days as a crazy hermit old lady living, loving life in a kitchen. With a couple of sofas, a bed & of course two grumpy old cats & a mad dog. The dream. This was beautiful to watch x
Susannah, you were an icon of mine in my younger years, Trinny and Susannah days... Truly inspiring and made me feel better about my curves. Thank you. Thanks for sharing. You are a remarkable lady, keep going.
It's so refreshing to hear an adult speaking of mom in a food light. She was loving and had her mental issue, but nonetheless loved her children. Love your mother, there are more good than bad memories.
Susannah, you are a beautiful soul! This is my favourite house tour ever as you are so open and authentic and talk honestly about yourself. I love your home❤️
Love that you have your @TrinnyLondon products in your bathroom .. so do I they are simply the best aren’t they ❤- thanks for sharing your beautiful home ❤
This, for me is an incredible video. It provided so much solace for me right now, when I'm barely holding things together. Thank you so much Susannah and Good Housekeeping! 🙏
What a Lovely House & what a Lovely host . Amaizing quiet ambience, such a fantastic personality, she is honest, Clear & with a Lovely heart, easy to see 👌✨💜🔆🏡
Susannah I'd love to have a cuppa and a chat with you. You are such a lovely soul . Your house is a proper family home. Beautiful and homely. Always loved you and Trinny. ❤❤❤
Love this video so much ,such a comforting home with so many interesting pieces. i particularly liked the painting of your mum you can see your dads affection for her in it. A very beautiful house love the openness of the rooms. Such amazing views as well. Thankyou for sharing.
Oh darling…Thankyou for sharing your heart with all of us….I was feeling down today because my mom told me I was a f:::::::ng nobody ten minutes before she died after I took care of her mean ass for twenty plus years because she was blind….no she didn’t have dementia…..she told me very day of my life that she never ever wanted kids that we were all BIG mistakes…..Thankyou again. Hugs carolyn
The fact that you took care of your mother until she dies, regardless of the truly appalling things she said to you, means you are a beautiful, forgiving human being. Your mother - sadly - was not. There may have been reasons for the way she was and the abuse she dished out to you. It doesn't matter now, let it go. You've proved yourself to be a wonderful, caring person Carolyn. Chin up now, be proud, live the rest of your life knowing that you are a treasure amongst women.🤗
Much 💖. 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️.. I took care of my mom too for 12 years.. she was not a kind or loving mom. She has Alzheimer's/ dementia. It's our turn to live. Without regret. We did what needed to be done. Hugs. 💯🙏🏼💐💐❤️❤️❤️
I love Suzanna, she seems so real! What an incredibly inspiring story… It’s rather ironic that you lived in The Priory when your mother battled with bipolar…. Lovely home… ❤
I’m American, and never watched What Not to Wear, so wasn’t familiar with Susannah Constantine. Wow, what a real woman - talking about her mother’s mental illness, and allusions to her own alcoholism. Who can’t relate to life being less than perfect? Best of all was the tour of the bedroom, including damp on the wall, her husband’s clothes and flies. I love you now.
Oh my goodness I can’t imagine who would criticize her. A real and open human being. What a joy.
How nice to see a house that actually looks like people live there. Beautiful

Yes ! ….a proper family home ….not a “ Show “ house !
I don’t know how Susannah can be so grounded. It’s a testament to her character. ❤

I'd forgotten what a delight Susannah Constantine is and her home is every bit as lovely as she is.
What a lovely authentic person. Out of all of the house tours I’ve ever seen I warned to her the most. Think her mum would be very proud of her. ❤
You could really have a cuppa with your feet on the sofa and she wouldn’t bat an eyelid, very well spoken but so down to earth, love her 🤩❤️
Loved Susannah my whole life and I just knew her house would be fabulous and homely, hope to see a full tour one day ❤️

I love Suzannah. She shows us everything, warts and all. That painting her father made of her mother is wonderful.
