This game is so dystopia and scary. I've got such a soft-spot for it though. Cheers to you and Icy for checking back on it's development.

The dogs are really frightening, Imagine being hunted by a pack of them.
It's a funny contrast, this game. It's made by Apex Studios who make gorgeous out door landscapes and weather sims in their games like the Hunter: Call of the Wild; but it's dystopian like you said. But it's both a modern and 80's dystopia of there being stuff from the 80's but also it's just a bit clean and clear cut like modern times. Nothing wrong with it, but there is just a slight jarring mental reregistering I go through every time I go from fighting a beat up and kind of more 80's themed prototype machine to fighting what could be a more modern day FNIX variant of the same robot.
Can someone explain what's scary about this?

A better update than the Resistance one was. Two new enemies, a new thing since launch, and the south forest is greater than ever. plus new notes to find that flesh out more of the story. However I can understand why one might find it underwhelming. They need more plot. And yes, occasionally coming across a human AI fighting would be GREAT. I wouldn't even mind if they're not interactable, at least not on release, but it's weird that we're the only people able to do THIS much damage to the bots and still be around.
Agreed. You could come across a band of resistance fighters who you help in a single battle, but after if you try to join them they give you the essence of "Don't call us, we'll call you." Which could actually help in future expansions- you have to do a certain amount of damage if you want to join a group. And you have to join as a "Scout" which would explain why you're alone most of the time. You're a front runner for the resistance group.
@@KovarrBlue Perfect, you're a scout, or saboteur, and that's why you can't otherwise join these random groups you find sitting around.
And I do mean sitting, otherwise you could just follow them. Course, even if they wandered and you went with them, they're not sneaking, attracting attention, and not to any real destination, much like the bots themselves, so it would still mechanically work out to you needing to lone wolf it. Yeah.
I wouldn't mind if you had to fight human npcs as a raider faction from fallout, you know. Madmen who worship the machines and kill their fellow man while the machines don't care and kills both the npcs and players, plus an R&D skill tree to upgrade your stuff would make the game more replayable.

This game need more useable assets to change how it looks (new different houses, buildings, broken stuff etc) it also needs more robots, majority of the time your fighting dogs, hunters and the occasional tick so there needs to be another in between dog & hunter as well as hunter and harvester that way people won’t get bored of the combat. More variety is a good thing for this game in my opinion
It definitely need more “stuff” but the game devs are also working on Second Extinction
@dan this game could make an amazing comeback something on the level of No Mans Sky, they have an amazing concept but they haven’t fully delve deep enough yet.

Imagine if there was a trust system for the Russian faction, like if you assisted a Russian unit in defeating a AI unit then you get 1 trust point and they become neutral from long to medium range and if you have 3 tp they become passive and will have a chance to spawn near you to assist in combat, also you lose trust points if you destroy a Russian unit, you can do Russian quests to get more trust points (2-3 quests = 1tp), if you get 5 trust points then you get a quest that upon completion will give you a pup companion at you next safe house (I'm calling the little ball robots as pups) and if you keep it alive for long enough then you can get a quest for a 2nd one, if you get 12-15 tp then you can do a quest to trade you 1-2 pups for a wolf, also if you pups or wolf dies then after a long cooldown it will spawn at your next safe house.
Idk if this might be a bit too op but something like this would be interesting to see in game as a mod or vanilla

Alpine Unrest: am I a joke to you?
They think that the new machines are terrifying and such, but, last time I checked, they still haven’t fought the “Reaper” machine yet. In the story basically before FNIX rose to power it was developing an experimental machine that it classified as “Reaper” which utilizes features and weapons from both the FNIX class machines and the Apocalypse class machines. It’s “Rival Level” is always labeled as “???” as well.
Basically the “Reaper” is one of the toughest and most terrifying machine to fight. It utilizes forcefield shields to keep itself from being able to take damage and it’s most terrifying ability that no other machines have is called “Thermobaric Explosion.” With this ability it will start to blare a very loud alarm and during this time it will throw up its shield and start flooding the area in gas. Once it floods the area with gas(after 10 seconds) it will detonate the gas creating a massive explosion that will instantly kill any players that don’t get into cover within a 120 meter radius of the “Reaper.” After every Thermobaric Explosion that the “Reaper” does it will also summon FNIX Runners as backup to support it. Also whenever the “Reaper” falls down to low health(around 15%) it will initiate one last Thermobaric Explosion as a self-destruct mechanism to attempt to eliminate the player(s) and itself.
Also to get the “Reaper” to spawn you must get any region’s level to be at level 21 or higher for it to spawn in and killing any rivals that are assigned to that region will decrease the region’s level so you can’t kill any of the mini-bosses/rivals in order to do this.
I really want to spawn one lol sounds slightly mad as it's a tough soab. But I like the long battles and dodging death every second

They have fought the Ever-Evolving One for a long period of time,hardly killing it and the Reaper is just....straight a whole lot new level,so he is like the ultimate machine that is unstoppable.

That “grind” is fun for only so long... it needs something else. Maybe expand the “Alpine Unrest” chapter some how. 🤷🏻♂️

Man I have got to go back to Generation Zero. I stopped playing when my buddies stopped playing like 3 years ago but it seems like they added a lot of content since then.
Omg I know its been a bit over a year since ya'll last played this but it has gotten some serious new updates that include flying machines and a rival machine set that adds Machines fighting machines. You guys have got to check it out now.
FOA 2, aka the large area with giant walls you went to, was the place the Reaper Tank was tested before being stolen by FNIX. You can see near the middle that there's am elevator with "FOA 2" next to it. During "Hellmouth", the mission on himfjäll, you will encounter that exact tank being offline, on the exact "FOA 2" elevator that exists on östertörn, next to the Norrmyra Artillery Base

Gen zero is one of those survival games where you have 5 seconds to die once spotted and 5 seconds to run away before getting spotted.
IGP, the ones you have been seeing are the Scouts, they are the ones that drop the mini ones named Lynx robots.
there are Soldiers that release gas, and use nanotech recovery fields.
Then there are Spetsnaz troops, they use cluster mines.
I knew this was coming, and I'm glad it did.
