I don’t know if this was intended or not, but I’ve noticed that in most depictions of Magician’s Red flames, there is no smoke. Kakyoin imo serves as Jotaro’s well spoken/social counterpart. Jotaro in Part 4 is notably more understanding and wise, and I think Kakyoin during their journey served as the conscience for Jotaro.
Alright Meti, I'm sorry, but I must respectfully disagree with that Kakyoin statement. All the Crusaders played a vital role to the story one way or another. Let's start at the beginning, he is the first enemy Stand user sent by DIO and attempts at killing Jotaro. From this fight, we see Jotaro's potential more than the Avdol fight, and I'm not saying the Avdol fight wasn't important, it just wasn't showing off Jotaro's full potential. After that fight, we also get a showcase of Star Platinum's precision pulling out the flesh bud, again, we are shown the capabilities thanks to Kakyoin losing. Next, we have the Tower of Gray fight. This fight showed that brute strength alone wouldn't win the Crusaders DIO's defeat. There has to be brains involved, if Avdol used Magicians Red, the entire plane would blow up and kill the remaining survivors and the Crusaders. Star Platinum wasn't quick enough to even land a single blow from his Ora Ora rush, so that was out of the question. And Joseph didn't really stand a chance seeing that Hermit Purple isn't great at offensive attacks. Sure, he could've used Hermit Purple, but that would leave him vulnerable and he couldn't even get to the Stand user in time anyways, so there wasn't a point to use it, not to mention, Hermit Purple isn't that fast nor does it provide stealth maneuvers like Hierophant Green did. Again, Kakyoin kills the Stand user and Crusaders survive. Later, during the Hol Horse arc, Polnareff almost kills himself just to avenge Avdol's "death", but the one who snaps him out of it is none other than Kakyoin. Kakyoin shows him that it's better to live for your friends than to die for them, which brings Polanreff closer to the group instead of letting him continue on as a loner or a dead man. Kakyoin also shows Polnareff how to counter all the attacks from J.Geil and not only did he change Polnareff's mentality, but it also saved their lives at the very end when they surrounded by the poor people with J.Geil hiding in their eyes. He literally turns Polnareff from a sad and empty shell of a man bent on getting revenge for his "dead" mentor and for his sister to a goofy man who is passionate about the good in life and what it is worth, fighting with the group to the end. Finally, we bring Kakyoin to the final fight he is in. Yes, he does die, but if he didn't die, he wouldn't have found out the secret of DIO's stand. The Crusaders would have all died, Holly and Josuke would have died, and then he would obtain heaven. Kakyoin was not unimportant, every single Crusader was crucial to the plot. Again, you should do research on Kakyoin and go further into his character, revealing how important he is to the group. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Avdol seemed like such an interesting character with a cool backstory and an awesome stand. It's a shame that he was so underused and basically written out. He deserved more
Tbh avdol got all of the screen time he needed even though its minimal yet its still good that his character arc is mostly based on him and polnareff which affects his death
I think that's the thing. Avdol was an incredibly impactful character because of how serious and capable he was. In contrast to everyone other than Jotarto was pretty telling. No other character on the hero's side quite had that intensity, so it made sense to kill him off to force other characters to step up. Which didn't really happen in my opinion.
Avdol's death was a huge shock to me in Dio's mansion. It wasn't a typical shonen death because it just came out of nowhere, but I wouldn't have is death happen any other way. That fits his character so perfectly
8:14- He was a flame master of the highest degree, with not even a gun that specifically allows the bullets to telepathically alter its trajectory to its target and a Stand compassed of light could take him out permanently. It says a lot that a Stand that operated on higher plane of power as in vanishing existence while transporting anything caught in its invisible path to a dimension that not even the user knows where it is was the thing that finally took Avdol out.
On the subject of the Stardust Crusaders, did Araki ever talk about the girl Anne who followed Jotaro and the others? I didn't mind her, but I never really understood why she was introduced.
I always thought she was meant to be a future wife to Jotaro (like Suzie Q and Erina, who were also introduced along the way), but I guess this is not true? It is definitely weird why she was in, she did not really contribute much in my opinion.
tomatotimmy wasn't Jotaro only seventeen during that time, so if she's twenty one then he'd be twenty eight, so it's not implausible especially with how she seemed to crush on Jotaro slightly.
The name Muhammad in Avdol or Abdul, as how it is pronounced properly is also a name to one of Muslims Prophet's name and means to bring harmony and it indeed fits his character

@@garrisonmoncher5461 I'll give you one off I came up with off the top of my head a few days ago. Fall Out Boy: a close range Stand with long range capabilities. DP: A, Speed: B, Range: E, Durability: C, Precision: C, DP: B. Ability- Ring of Fire: Fall Out Boy can generate flame-based discs from the generators around it arm. While these disc will burn whatever they come in contact with, they retain a physical presence, sawing through targets like a buzz saw. Weakness: Fall Out Boy can only generate two discs at a time and cannot control they're trajectory once they are thrown. I gave it various techniques to give it some better utility but you get the general premise.
It's probably because he could make quick work of some of the weaker stands. For example, he could easily defeat The Lovers by burning all of the duplicates away, as well as the real one. Or he could incinerate the corpses that Justice controls.
Avdol is so underrated!! Hes so adorable and he's my favorite from SDC, and probably my second favorite from the entire JJBA series. I love this man so much- And I cried both times when he died. It literally broke my soul.

I feel like he played an important part, and did what he was meant to do, though I was hoping to see more of him.
Avdol was actually one of my top 3 characters in Stardust Crusaders, I love more coverage of him, and I still have this personal canon that Avdol had to die because DIO is piss weak to fire, and once Avdol had figured that out the fight could've ended rather quickly
"DIO is piss weak to fire..." Not an unfounded idea when you remember that the Joestar Mansion fire in part 1 nearly killed him and he spent literal days recovering in the shadows even with the vampire healing factor, and that same healing factor is weakened in part 3. In the right scenario, It's not implausible to think Avdol could defeat part 3 Dio. Damn Avdol really is very powerful.
I personally love Avdol and think he's kinda underrated, mostly cuz he dies in bad ways. Even Araki said he kinda wished he'd done that a bit better, but I still like what the character had to offer and the theme that he was struggling with fitting into the group.
Araki did him so dirty, he brought back my man in another universe just to kill him for lulz what the hell I really want to see Avdol's backstory. Part 3 is gory on its own, and Polnareff's backstory features rape and murder, I wonder what could make Araki consider "too mature" in that regards
When he said "this isn't me" he meant "I'm not willing to be gay...that's not what I'm all about"...or so I think, homosexuality is a great taboo in Islam after all
Irrelevant comment to the video, but i wanted to point out that Avdol was not only the first one to die twice, but his alternate version of SBR was the FIRST one to be eliminated during the race. Now THAT is pretty lame.
Kaykoin was important example is when he willing to fight Dio just to learn how The World worked and you call him the most meaningless even though Avdol just keeps diying a bunch of times!?
I always looked at Avdol as some sort of Pokedex... Most of the stands they encounter while he's there he has some sort of experience about the enemy stand. I guess that's why he disappeared for like half the part, to make it more mysterious. Or maybe Araki was like "I want a party of 4." and then he said "No, wait I like the number 5 better, 4 is a bad number." and then Polnaref joined. Then he said "Ugh, 5 Crusaders is too OP against these run of the mill enemies." and then Avdol 'died'. And then he felt bad for killing off Avdol so fast and said "It was but a flesh wound." and thus Avdol lived again. But then he said "5 Crusaders is still too OP, your up next Kakyoin." and then Kakyoin had sunglasses. Kind of funny how the characters with the least screen time were the ones to die... *sigh* RIP Fried Chicken, Donut and Iggy God damn I write a lot...
I honestly never would have picked up on a lot of these character choices. Araki definitely puts a lot of work into all of them. Great series have a sub
I got sad and stop watching Jojo after part 3 because he and Kakyoin died, despite being side characters I actually like them better than the main ones. That scene in the OVA where he gave Iggy some gums and promised to brought him back to NY after defeating Dio made me cry like a bitch.
I think i am only one who noticed this by his name also suggests a famous arabian singer by the name Mohammed abdo. Avdol character is absolutely one of my favorite he is an awesome mentor , responsible and caring
Avdol sounds like a black guy from the 20th century. -Killed first to boost morale and show the stakes -Mentor/smarter friend to everyone -Not nearly as remembered as his friends in the same series.
The problem is even though Polnareff is big mouthed, the Crusaders were so cruel to him about Avdol’s death. That’s some mental trauma and Polnareff could have committed suicide or something.
Tbh you are right. like literally the team take it like it's nothing. Ofc the first time was just a fake death but I would be mentally depressed if I was him
I wonder what was copyright in the original vid? I mean it sucks putting effort into a video and then having the video being taken down due to unintentional copyright.
The fact that avdol got his fucking body ripped to another dimension, saved iggy and polnareff, and fucking attacked vanilla ive while he was in the other dimension hes thee fucking man.
"I think in terms of Jojo, flames and *poisonous gas* have become off limits ofr me" - Araki And you're telling me that the fact that Purple Haze was so op wasn't at least one of the factors Araki wrote Fugo out of Golden Wind?
Another thing about Avdol and Horus from COTI, they both aid the protagonist in an effort to thwart the chaos being brought about by the Egyptian gods, two of which being Anubis and Bastet. Also, even though the protagonist is the one who wakes up from a sleep capsule in COTI, Avdol and MR assist Jotaro after Dio awakens from his coffin.
Also, and I’m pretty sure this was unintentional on Araki’s part, it’s possible Avdol’s origin and role, a pyrokinteic native to Cairo, could be a reference to The Cure’s “Fire in Cairo” from their Three Imaginary Boys album.

I personally love Avdol and think he's kinda underrated, mostly cuz he dies in bad ways. Even Araki said he kinda wished he'd done that a bit better, but I still like what the character had to offer and the theme that he was struggling with fitting into the group.
Why aren't there more videos like this about avdol?
Araki did him so dirty, he brought back my man in another universe just to kill him for lulz what the hell
I really want to see Avdol's backstory. Part 3 is gory on its own, and Polnareff's backstory features rape and murder, I wonder what could make Araki consider "too mature" in that regards
When he said "this isn't me" he meant "I'm not willing to be gay...that's not what I'm all about"...or so I think, homosexuality is a great taboo in Islam after all
He says it when jumping out a window as well not just in the Joseph moment
As a Muslim, I approve
KAKYOIN IS RAD WHAT DO YOU M E A N
Meti: He gives life advice to the other crusaders.
Avdol: Piss and laugh Polnareff!
>saying kakyoin isn't important
>kakyoin discovered the world's ability to stop time
And avdol saved polnarreff, not once, not twice, but three times
they claim over use of the OVA and not the anime? That is an action that baffles me on so many levels. The whole things is uploaded on TH-cam anyway!
Kakyoin was a good character and it was sad to see his potential wasted in the one part.
He didn't get enough love ❤️
I'm not going to lie, I cried during the Judgement fight when I first watched it.
*sigh* RIP Fried Chicken, Donut and Iggy
God damn I write a lot...
“Conflict known as World war 2”
Oh that one
Araki: flames and poisonous gas have become off limits for me
Cioccolata: *Laughs with Green Day*
Kakyoin is the thoughtful intellectual of the group
Says Kakyoin doesn’t play an important part to the story. Kakyoin figures out how the world works. Hmmm
I honestly never would have picked up on a lot of these character choices. Araki definitely puts a lot of work into all of them.
Great series have a sub
Avdol died saving polnareff twice
Kakyoin was important. He was key to victory in several fights, like against J Geil, Death 13 or Steely Dan.
I search "Fifty Shades of Avdol" and I find this...
I cant wait till we get to Dio's mansion so this video can be taken down again
“Old habits never die, but avdol always will”
Damn. Great line, but damn.
I got sad and stop watching Jojo after part 3 because he and Kakyoin died, despite being side characters I actually like them better than the main ones. That scene in the OVA where he gave Iggy some gums and promised to brought him back to NY after defeating Dio made me cry like a bitch.
Magician’s red is cool, he reminded me of the flying man from Earthbound. Which literally is, and could’ve been Ness’ stand.
I think i am only one who noticed this by his name also suggests a famous arabian singer by the name Mohammed abdo.
Avdol character is absolutely one of my favorite he is an awesome mentor , responsible and caring
Beautiful man
Avdol sounds like a black guy from the 20th century.
-Killed first to boost morale and show the stakes
-Mentor/smarter friend to everyone
-Not nearly as remembered as his friends in the same series.
Muhammad is not just a common name, it's the most common name on Earth, based on the fact that most Arabic people have Muhammad as their second name.
**sees this on my recommended**
Me (an Avdol simp): IVE BEEN SUMMONED
why is it that people say that kakyoin didn’t do anything
He got them to realize DIO’s power with his dying act
Plus he was the most relatable person to Jotaro
Old habits never die, but Avdol always will.
What a great quote
Therapist:Muhammad Abdul Josuke isn't real, he can't hurt you
Muhammad Abdul Josuke
:(pause here) 9:10
“I mean all of them besides Kakyoin” Smh
It's a shame he's not popular...He's really a good character!
The problem is even though Polnareff is big mouthed, the Crusaders were so cruel to him about Avdol’s death. That’s some mental trauma and Polnareff could have committed suicide or something.
Tbh you are right. like literally the team take it like it's nothing. Ofc the first time was just a fake death but I would be mentally depressed if I was him
I wasn’t ready for the last lines of the video holy shit lol
He protecc
He attacc
But most importantly
He came bacc
I *really* wasn't supposed to laugh at that last joke as hard as I did.
Ngl I think Avdol is the reason I wanted to get my first tarot deck and try to learn how to read them.
I wonder what was copyright in the original vid? I mean it sucks putting effort into a video and then having the video being taken down due to unintentional copyright.
Tmw no one ever respects my G enough to say his name correctly. Abdul
I was pissed when avdol died again and so quickly.
He was my sexy chocolate drop 😭
@@tamerpin7504 wow I've never seen anyone describe him as that. I'm not complaining tho.....
@@itz_missy2061 Yeye me too
The fact that avdol got his fucking body ripped to another dimension, saved iggy and polnareff, and fucking attacked vanilla ive while he was in the other dimension hes thee fucking man.
Caesar: Avdol died first because he was the mentor and the mom friend
Joseph: Avdol died first because he's black

Magician's red is actually op.
Avdol stole rodan from Godzilla,
Can’t have shit in Detroit
He was my favorite. Truly underrated.
Kakyoin isn't important? He's best boy. That's important.
"I think in terms of Jojo, flames and *poisonous gas* have become off limits ofr me"
- Araki
And you're telling me that the fact that Purple Haze was so op wasn't at least one of the factors Araki wrote Fugo out of Golden Wind?
Yes, because Fugo didn't use poison gas, he used a virus that had a 5 meter range and evaporated in seconds.
avdol got shot, stab, then dead to villana ice
The black master in here saying niga they brought me back in the game
cool guy avdol
I wish Avdol had more screen time
I wish he had one more chance to use magicians red in a stand fight.
