I was just in South Korea a few months ago and I thought the people were very nice. Some of the old folks at the market spoke very loudly, but I in general they were very nice to me. Food was also really good. Same with Japan. Friendly people and good food. I'm sure China is just as awesome.

China does have their own music industry, though it started off late in comparison. In fact, in the last decade many Taiwanese, Malaysian, Singaporean, HK famous singers (switch to singing in Mandarin Chinese) work in China to develop their singing careers there because the market is huge there. Taiwan used to be the place to launch your Chinese singing career prior to year 2000 but not really now. Any Mandarin singer who wants to be taken seriously has to aim for China as their market.
Yes there is a huge pop culture industry in China. It's geared towards the 2 billion Chinese speaking audiences who have chinese taste. It's not geared towards international fans, so it isn't well known if you don't speak chinese or can't understand Chinese culture. A lot of Chinese pop culture stems from an understanding of Chinese history and etc. So it wouldn't appeal to audiences who don't know about it. For example, Chinese pop songs rely on lyrics rather than catchy beats. Chinese dramas are based on history or historical figures and Chinese mythology. None of which would appeal to "non-Chinese" audiences without an understanding of "real chinese" culture, not what you perceive it to be. The reason why people know Kpop is that from the beginning they marketed internationally due to need since they have a small population. It's hard to have a sustaining pop culture market if you don't have enough people consuming the material. Hence why Kpop is geared towards Japan, USA, etc. Larger markets with consumers who have more market power and they can charge more for merchandise, concert tickets, CDs etc. The Chinese market is self-sustaining so there's no desire or need for the market to market internationally. They also have their own music platforms and video streaming sites which is why you won't find it on TH-cam. The world isn't TH-cam and Twitter. To name some well-liked Chinese musicians: Hua Chenyu, Jay Chou, Tiger Hu, Joker Xue, etc. Recently since more Chinese have gone to Kpop there have been a surge of pop stars like Luhan, Kris Wu, Tao, Lay, etc. whom are more popular among teenage girls.

I like Korean. Because I have a Korean schoolmate I feel I can get alone well with. When we communicate I feel we can better understand each other compared to communicate with other western schoolmate. At that time I feel the culture gap among Asian is not that big. I can even guess what she is talking about when she speak Korean, some pronunciation are similar between Korean and Chinese. I also like K-dramas. But I really don't like K-pop music or idols and groups. For someone in China imitate Korean idols I just want to give them white eye. Like someone in Idol Producer, It's a disaster. As food I like bibimbap and Korean spicy fried chicken.

Yes, we do have the responsibility on the issue but i would also like to suggest that you watch the latest news about what China is doing for improving the pollution problem recently. I had many Chinese friends and met a lot of Chinese people and a lot of them were very nice, polite and humble. But unfortunately, I also met many Chinese people who were the opposite - they were salty and impolite or self-centred in a way that they had no respect towards the others in public (in the restaurant, Chinese people were shouting at each other about something). I am Korean and I met chinese family when I was traveling in Europe. They asked me at the first, and they were so frendly treated me as well. I hope our relationship between Korea and China get better.
When I was in China they were very racist and mistreated my family for being Korean so we had to stay in the hotel all day 💀 and like the only person that knew how to speak Chinese was my mom... so that helped us a lot but like when my non speaking Chinese family tried to talk they looked at us weird and they start laughing calling us Korean people... also they would scam us 24/7 will I ever go back?!!.... HELL NO!!!

As a Chinese who can read a little Korean, it's sad to see so many negative comments (written in Korean) towards both China and Chinese people under this video in which most of the Chinese interviewees think Korean people are very nice.
I think the problem is that the Chinese are ignorant but not dumb. it's hard to get informed when you don't have an open internet. and even in the west(where im from) where we have a free and open internet, people are still ignorant. smh
I think what people said in this video is completely neutral and is somewhat a good reflection of what general Chinese people think of Korean people. I'm from China and have been studying in US for four years now. Most of my Chinese friends here including me have at least a few Korean friends and so I don't understand why people get so indignated in their comments. One way to stay intellectually neutral is to not trust news and media that easily and find multiple sources to gain perspectives before making a judgement.
This sounds like a very biased video. They mainly asked young, girls, who are clearly very much into pop/idol culture, so naturally they would have a positively biased view toward Korea. Try asking mature adult men or women, and I bet you'd get a much more nuanced set of opinions
I am a Korean. I do not like Chinese or Japanese government. However, I have Chinese and Japanese friends, I love Chinese and Japanese food, I like Chinese and Japanese music. I have all the love and respect for the people and the culture. I hate the politics behind all 3 countries.

As a Chinese, I think reunification of Korea is very hard. Only after China was defeated by the USA of USA is defeated by China in Asia, then it would be possible. The relationship between NK and SK is also a big problem for your country, I hope it could be solved in peace.

My friend experienced that a couple of South Korean tourists act very loudly and impolitely in the bar and very annoying to the other customers. Maybe they were drunk or too excited. And the tourists were kicked out by the security guard later. The other customers complained about them. This happened about five years ago in Shenyang, China.
When I was a college student , there were some Korean students in my university, they played football almost every weekend regularly, no matter it was raining, snowing, or in hot summer, which expressed me most. I think this why our national football team has always been defeated by Korean team.

As a chinese malaysian i want to say that I love China,Japan and South Korea. I love China because i think that is where i originally came from. I love Japan because of anime and im pretty much a weeb or just a weeb. I love South Korea because i have a lot of Korean friends and the society. But why can't east asia be like europe and the west. Even though their country did have some tensions the people still love each other. In east asia each country hates each other. I just wish east asia would work together and become friends. I am Korean. After looking at the comments in this video for hours, Chinese people also hate Korea a lot. In my personal opinion, I don't hate China much. However, the situation has worsened three years ago and now. The so-called "Han-Han-Ryeong" is also being implemented in China. As a result, China is a country that you can't get close to even if you want to. Many media outlets seem to hate Koreans more because they speak badly of them, but we are not such a bad people. I was just in South Korea a few months ago and I thought the people were very nice. Some of the old folks at the market spoke very loudly, but I in general they were very nice to me. Food was also really good. Same with Japan. Friendly people and good food. I'm sure China is just as awesome.

China does have their own music industry, though it started off late in comparison. In fact, in the last decade many Taiwanese, Malaysian, Singaporean, HK famous singers (switch to singing in Mandarin Chinese) work in China to develop their singing careers there because the market is huge there. Taiwan used to be the place to launch your Chinese singing career prior to year 2000 but not really now. Any Mandarin singer who wants to be taken seriously has to aim for China as their market.
Yes there is a huge pop culture industry in China. It's geared towards the 2 billion Chinese speaking audiences who have chinese taste. It's not geared towards international fans, so it isn't well known if you don't speak chinese or can't understand Chinese culture. A lot of Chinese pop culture stems from an understanding of Chinese history and etc. So it wouldn't appeal to audiences who don't know about it. For example, Chinese pop songs rely on lyrics rather than catchy beats. Chinese dramas are based on history or historical figures and Chinese mythology. None of which would appeal to "non-Chinese" audiences without an understanding of "real chinese" culture, not what you perceive it to be.
The reason why people know Kpop is that from the beginning they marketed internationally due to need since they have a small population. It's hard to have a sustaining pop culture market if you don't have enough people consuming the material. Hence why Kpop is geared towards Japan, USA, etc. Larger markets with consumers who have more market power and they can charge more for merchandise, concert tickets, CDs etc. The Chinese market is self-sustaining so there's no desire or need for the market to market internationally. They also have their own music platforms and video streaming sites which is why you won't find it on TH-cam. The world isn't TH-cam and Twitter.
To name some well-liked Chinese musicians: Hua Chenyu, Jay Chou, Tiger Hu, Joker Xue, etc.
Recently since more Chinese have gone to Kpop there have been a surge of pop stars like Luhan, Kris Wu, Tao, Lay, etc. whom are more popular among teenage girls.

I think what people said in this video is completely neutral and is somewhat a good reflection of what general Chinese people think of Korean people. I'm from China and have been studying in US for four years now. Most of my Chinese friends here including me have at least a few Korean friends and so I don't understand why people get so indignated in their comments. One way to stay intellectually neutral is to not trust news and media that easily and find multiple sources to gain perspectives before making a judgement.

As a chinese malaysian i want to say that I love China,Japan and South Korea. I love China because i think that is where i originally came from.
