    I would agree that the fish tank is not optimal for a fish that can grow as large as an alligator gar but there is no denying this video is awesome on many other levels.
    The fish obviously enjoys the affections of its keeper & that was really something to behold!

    • @TheSuperbadkneegrow
      @TheSuperbadkneegrow 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Really? Fooled me as you know what's funny if you actually pay attention instead of getting all hostile and aggressive right away you could actually tell that the fish actually came towards its owner's hand I know what you mean but that fish didn't even try to get away and if you don't anything anything at all about animals if they don't want to be around they will run even if there's nowhere to run they will run that fish didn't even try to get away he came right towards the hand went right into it didn't flop and get aggressive he wasn't trying to run or escape he was completely fine with what was happening

    • @user-bl4oq7fd8d
      @user-bl4oq7fd8d 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Phil Thalhammer But this tank is still much too small, it would probably not be possible to touch the fish like this if it would live in a appropriate sized tank...

    • @TheSuperbadkneegrow

      I regardless of the tank size if the fish didnt want to be touched it would have put in the effort, dont be naive

      @user-bl4oq7fd8d 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I never knew you could pet an alligator gar until now. I've seen several massive alligator gars before since I live right by the Mississippi River. Largest one I've seen had to be at least 8-9 feet long. When the levee floods, they come in to swim in the shallow, and you can see them swim in the clear water. Imagine seeing dozens of giant alligator gars and sometime alligators laying on the levee bank at the same time. Living my the widest part of the MS River, you see a lot of cool wildlife stuff. I've seen at a long line of wild hogs gather can a levee bank to drink water early in the morning before. The line had to be at least over a mile long. I couldn't see where the line of hogs gathering to drink water ended, so it had it be over 2+ miles. They are an nuisance to our farm land though

    lol, i had a gar for 8 years before giving him to a fish store. he was a killer, extreemly powerful and may i add, very smart. he could tell by my body movements when he was going to eat. no joke, if i touched the water, he would slowly come up and attempt an ambush that often got the floor around the tank wet. i thought for sure your fish would leave your hand a bloody mess. im glad to hear he is still happy and in a new tank. i do believe the fish trusts you but im not sure he was in top health, in either case, learn as much as you can about em and i wish em the best.

      +Thien Nguyen no offence, but Alligator Gar is one of the biggest freshwater fish species in the world, they can grow to very large size, you should have a bigger space/aquarium/pond for your fish... it will be better for your fish

      its an alligator gar, many gars have spots when young, its just that rhe alligator gars will lose its spots as it matures. thats why it has small spots instead of big splotches you see on spotted gars
