    People flip the "cigar tube" after they block the trem. One way to block the trem on a mustang you remove the springs and add washers to lock it down. Once that's done you flip the cigar tube so the strings can just be put through normally, instead of wrapping them around.

    Nice work you do. I finished my Jazzmaster and have a bridge like that one on it. I bought a "Buzz Stop" complete foolishness. It's in my junk drawer. I have two concerts each weekend and my new direct from my work bench my Jazzmaster will be getting everyone nuts. I am re doing my store bought Jaguar next. Thank you again Michael and I you beers. I go home to Ireland soon and I will try to get a hold of you then.

    I'm pretty sure the only reason it has a mustang bridge was due to fender not being able to equip it with his usual gotoh one at the time, he did replace it immediately after he received it though, as well as a JB humbucker

    Your video gave me some courage to at least do some work on my own Jagstang, which I had procrastinated for years.
    The vibrato springs were buzzing a lot when playing mid F notes, so I put some grease on them and now it's (almost) gone.
    The intonation was wrong but I wasn't able to reach the screws because of that vibrato tailpiece. So I flipped the bridge. Now the screws are facing the humbucker and they are easy to reach and set up.
    I'm really digging the short radius and scale of this guitar for playing chords.

    I did the same thing to my Mustangs and my jagstang, flipped the tailpiece... I kinda like that "loose" feel, and I use 0.11 strings so...

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah thats cool I get that, I just kinda like things to be how they should

      Yeah, tbh I did the "mod" just cause cobain did haha but when I got my second mustang and jag I was already used to it xD

      @theguitarmanifesto  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      haha yeah I did have a phase of reversing it but I much prefer it the proper way now :)

    How does this finish look in person? In this video it looks orange but I've seen other photos of fiesta red that look almost pink

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Logan Williamson it's a nice bright red in the flesh, have a look at any Fiesta red Fender in a guitar shop they still use this colour

    I can't stop my strings from buzzing without having the action stupid high. Use 11-49s any tips???

    any difference between this one and the sonic blue?i have the blue one and was wondering if they changed any of the specs

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are the same spec wise the difference is only the colour :)

    Small tip for you: Please lower the strings enough before cutting them, as there is very high tension from the strings to the neck and if you cut them before lower them the neck perhaps gets too much stressed.
    and you should start with the high E string when changing them, because it has the lowest tension force of all strings.

    • @theguitarmanifesto

      It's fine necks are very strong pieces of wood,when tuning it compensates it anyways.
