    Kurt literally cut a picture of a Jag and a Mustang in half and put to them together, that's it. Sexy

    I'm fairly certain you could buy a basic jagstang body off and pick guard warmoth and swap in all your mustang parts for a quarter of the price of one

    Didn't Kurt forget to tell fender about the body contouring ? making the body flat , like a Telecastor ?

    Seriously thinking about getting a Jagstang, to complete my trio - but I'm a lefty so have to hang on for one. Most people say they are horrible to play??

      +MagicRising they are nice to play very similar to a Mustang I would say the stock pickups are not the best

      I had one for 3 years and i ended up not liking it tbh. But if you know you will then go ahead, its a good guitar i just didnt like the feel and weight of it. the look became ugly to me after awhile too so think hard of how much you actually want it because they are like 800 bucks nowadays. lefty is like in the $1000's

      I have had a few of them over the years great when you first get one but the novelty soon wears off IMO

      MagicRising I recently got myself one as a bit of a graduation present and I'm totally in love with it honestly. The stock pickups really aren't the best but they are that bad either, mine even stays in tune without having to flip the bridge despite what I heard before I bought it. I don't find it uncomfortable to play, more comfortable than my duo sonic most of the time. I will say that you'll definitely need strap locks or at least switch them out lol almost dropped it a couple times.

      @bringbackthe1960sppl 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You should never have to flip the bridge btw, if one does it just means the guitar isnt setup correctly.
      Nice find, glad to hear you like it! Congrats on graduating

      Dude you've given that a lot of thought haha sounds like it would be an awesome guitar with an affordable price tag too, I'll have one in Lake Placid Blue please :)

    • @leegriffin4125
      @leegriffin4125 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I promise you if I get fender interested with it I will have one custom made just for you, sorta like a deluxe model, it will be lake placid blue with a racing stripe, with your choice of string, and neck (rosewood, maple, etc)

    • @leegriffin4125
      @leegriffin4125 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm planning on making a Prototype of the Hi-Stang with my Grandfather who's a carpenter. I'll make two so you can have a model.

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha man that we be sooooooooo awesome Lake Placid Blue and Rosewood Fingerboard would certainly be my preference, I would make an extra special video review for it too :)

    • @leegriffin4125
      @leegriffin4125 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok it might take a while, because i have to save up for the Pickups and other necessary compartments, and times the price by 2, but I'm working on affording the Mustang scratch plates and Pick guard materials (to make that oval shape) and then the other stuff. Is there any other parts you would like to add to it

    love the look of this, although if kc would have taken a bit more rn'd than just taping a jag and mustang picture together, he could have made something much more capable....
    on an unrelated note - why does fender hate lefties? an affordable offset for a lefty is like a nice dream only. they only now came out with a squier jazzmaster, but nothing about mustangs... nothing. just mij special edition runs, that cost near a thousand, while a righty can get a mustang squier and upgrade pickups for around twohundred.... like i get that lefites are a smaller market, but they could at least make a few, and sell them over a longer time, instead of making ten strats and teles and wondering why lefties dont sell good - its because we dont want ten strats!
    sorry for the rant, ive just been searching for a decent lefty mustang for some time.... at least got jazzmasters now, which wasnt even an option until recently.... they should also make squier jagstangs if were already ranting! kc was all about cheap guitars to give a chance to those who cant get a studio for christmas. and hes a good inspiration to kids, that you can make it with three chords and emotion...
    sorry for the second rant. good video though, cool guitar

    It's supposed to be a hybrid of a jaguar and a mustang, But I don't see any jaguar design cues except for the upper horn. the middle section of the body looks way too thin to be a mustang or a jaguar, not sure who's idea that was... that's really what makes the body look ugly is that middle section... also it's a slab body, no contouring :// I had this guitar when I was 17-20 years old... and thats exactly what happened I just couldn't get used to the looks of it, and the pickups were just not hot enough.. So I ended up selling it. I did love the action on it, very easy to play, one of the more positive things about it.

    • @theguitarmanifesto
      @theguitarmanifesto  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree apart from the upper horn there is very little signs of the Jaguar, I have had quite a few Jagstangs over the years I love them for about a week then the novelty soon wears off.
      They have a great neck and you can get the action very low however the stock pickups are not the best.
