Really useful no nonsense advice as usual from you Sophie. Wish I'd viewed this video last week as relatively new to leaded glass and had a piece with several complex joints. Wish I'd done the trick of cutting the heart out of some pieces of lead. Will know next time. Also glad I'm not the only one who has to keep pulling bits off and re-trimming.

Great video. I did a square 6"x6" panel for my first project and it took me all day. I didnt accurately account for the frame and so the further i got, the less it lined up with the pattern. I finished it but it took the entire day. I need practice on angle cuts and such. Anyways thanks for your expertise. 😁👍🏻
Keep at it - practice makes perfect (not that I've ever achieved 'perfect'!)

Lead shears - is that what you mean. Yes they are good and easy on the hand. I get them at Reading Stained Glass - you can find something similar by searching 'gasket cutters'.

Thanks for the very educational video. I now have a much better appreciation of the decisions made when working with lead came as opposed to the copper foil technique. Can you give an estimate of how long it took you to do the leading? You did a great job of editing the video down to about 23 minutes. I did not realize you had a ghost in your workshop! Hence the magic door opening at about 22:45! Probably a ghost left over from Halloween! We had our first freeze last night here in Maryland near DC in the US. Winter is coming!
The window probably took 2 hours to lead. Well it was halloween!

@@candeeham7423 well if it was for a customer id have spent time cleaning up the glass. Also the cementing is extra time. Keep warm x
