    BRO this is insane. This is legitimately the coolest thing I've ever seen. I can't believe you've done this.

      Thanks! It was fun. The honeybees are going through a tough time right now.

    Wow Jordan! I got suggested to your channel last year because of the floods. I had no idea you were a beekeeper, too! (So am I) totally cool observation hive! keep up the good work. @curvaceousbees

    So just curious...you have a bee hive in your bedroom? Are they noisy and do they have an outlet to get outside?

    • @JordanMowbray
      @JordanMowbray  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes! They can be loud during the day depending on how active they are but at night they are very quiet. There is an outlet that goes outside. It is the PVC pipe you can see in the video.

    Such nice docile bees. Did you introduce a queen to the new hive or did they find one?

    • @JordanMowbray
      @JordanMowbray  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They made their own queen from a split.

    That is a beautiful observation hive. Did you make it?

    Jordan,
    How do you know you will have another queen? Will that egg change into a queen?

    • @JordanMowbray
      @JordanMowbray  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The workers will most likely make a new queen since she is the only one that can lay fertilized eggs that turn into female workers. Without a queen the hive will not survive. The male bees play a very small role in the hive to only mate with a queen from another hive.

      @@JordanMowbray So it's the males that keep the hive going?

    Ok, so the obvious question here is... how in the world did you get your wife to agree to a beehive in your bedroom! :)

    How will the nuc get a queen if you didn't put another one in and there were no swarm cells?

    • @JordanMowbray
      @JordanMowbray  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All you need is eggs in a hive. After they are queenless they will make one of these eggs into a queen with royal jelly. It takes about a month to go from a hive being queenless until they have a new queen back and laying.

      @@JordanMowbray Thanks for clearing that up for me. I always thought they at least needed queen cells. Good video too by the way.
