Thank you for the kind words Mark. I enjoyed making the video and have a couple tricks i have learned along the way. Hope to meet you in person one day,
my brother and I ran that trail when it was only sledge,Jack, and outer limits. a long time ago. I will check you out for sure. I haven't been in years from what I see and hear it's a Damn good time.
hey Jake it's awesome watching you do these videos man, your so passionate about it and get excited over small stuff like tire balls lol I get excited over small stuff as well
I run foam beads in my utv tires 35in which is almost the same concept except no air and they do have to be replaced or add more every so often cause if you hit a rock or obstacle it will crush some of the beads which make them smaller. A buddy of mine runs expanding foam in his.
Hey guys, its really nice see your videos, here in Brazil we couldn't find this tech things , but it always good to improve our ideias! Nice job e good luck on competition Jake ! Busted Knuckel in Brazil lol!!!!!
That's some Crazy stuff Jake. I've never seen those before. Wow. So there's no actual air inside the cavity of the Tire? Very interesting technology! Very cool. Oh! I also noticed A bunch of guy's are snapping their Drive shafts fairly easy in a lot of the video's! That could be another tech video. Drive shaft construction and Materials!
nice vid, i like they way you explain things, cool idea but like you said its for the people who want to stick in the podiums, too much MULA for an average guy, thats something for the pros. 1500 for fancy ziploc bags, i rather get 2 spare tires and a 30 pack of buds lol!
I love that bead press it makes life so much easier, question, being that bouncers generate so much speed at the wheel is it highway possible?? Another words could we also use them for on road as well as of course off road?? Loving the vids that you do, there should be a college for this stuff, we'll call it University of Busted Balls!!
Nice video. Sorry for the late question but you installed them at a 45 degree angle. Does it matter if the bags are leaning in the direction of travel for the tire or against the direction of travel?
Damn that is quite a process, i thot my military bead locks with run flats were labor intensive. umm what kind of duration do you get with a set up ? if your were not a competitive rock bouncer?
Y'all should come trail ride Lewis chapel.. There r some videos of Brandon Dillon and the bacons out here.. Even a lil Tim bacon hill haha.. I feel like that riot buggy could own out here..
+BustedKnuckleVideo The Harvey Rd side got gated off.. But the other entrance is wide open.. There are a couple of smaller entrances as well.. A lot of people think it got shut down.. But it was only one entrance..
That's to bad, I really like internal balancing and these sound like exactly what I need. IDK why the oil itself couldn't/wouldn't replace the balancing media. Any idea what the oil actually is, hmmm. Maybe a little water in each ball would do it. Yeah, don't see why that wouldn't do it, a couple OZ of water in each ball would probably work well. Something kinda abrasive and small like dynabeads would be an issue, the oil would make it sticky, the small hard beads would rub on the balls, be a problem. But something bigger and softer, small solid rubber balls maybe. Ehh mostly just thinking out loud.
ive never blown one. i have seen them blow before but if you hit something hard enough to blow a tire ball you have more than likely broken something in the drivetrain as well. They will take an incredibly hard hit
How long does it take to install those and set the bead locks? Do you have to pull the tire off the rim completely to get the needles back in once they are installed, or just through the bead locked side. I love the idea and the theory, and yeah, anything for an edge when it comes to racing, but tuning them has to be a seriously time consuming chore.
I dont get it. I replied yesterday but its not showing up. Ill try to recap. It takes me around 30 minutes to change pressures in a tire. You have to take the tire off the vehicle, lay it down, remove the beadlock ring, air the tire down, put the beadlock back on, and install it back on the vehicle. The tire balls stay in the wheel and all you have to do pull the bead lock ring to get the needles in and out.
Four questions if you got a min. 1) I'd put them in a daily driver, a 10,000lb Diesel SUV currently on 37s, any issues there? Know of others using them in a daily? I could see them getting hot at highway speeds and high loads. 2) I currently use internal dynamic balancing media(dynabeads). Thinking about it, I think putting about an ounce of water in each ball would work great for that. Any reason why not, know of anyone doing this? 3) So let's say the tire balls are installed at 20PSI, I then fill the tire to 65PSI, the balls are going to shrink down quite a bit. Thus they'll be lose in the tire and shift around, thoughts? Thinking about this it seems to me I could simply attach them to the tire in place. A couple strips of good tape per ball would probably to the trick. 4) Ball size, I see both the 37" and 39-40" kit both have 20 balls, and neither specify wheel size, width, etc. So are the balls between the two kits a different size? I currently roll a 37 on 16.5 but I'm looking to go bigger and ditch the 16.5, so if I get the 37" kit will those work in a 40 on 17s? Or Get the 40" kit and squeeze them into the 37s, or wait and do it all at once?
Multiple reasons.. I've wondered that myself before.. The main reason is heat.. You get the best use out of stickies when they are hot.. And most foam can't handle that kinda heat.. To quote Jake you lose the ability to "tune the tires".. You have one preset for every thing you do.. That's not ideal.. Also you lose the pressure on the inner bead.. No matter how much foam you pack in it'd be almost impossible to put enough in to have enough pressure..
yeah teaches me to fix my own stuff we have a rhino 450 that we ran through water real fast and now it doesnt go as fast and doesnt want to climb hills , it only goes 20 mph top and thats down hill , we replaced fuel pump , fuel filter , air intake , and now whats left is either water in the engine block or the carborater is messed up , we also have to replace a 3rd axle and for the stuff we do thats a lot because we dont roll it and we dont do crazy hil climbs in it , its really just our farm and mudd buggy because the same place we messed it up at was where we mudd
BustedKnuckleVideo oh well what can you do , atleast we might get a new buggy the rihno was already used when we got it but it was in really good condition and it would be 9 years old now
Busted Knuckle Films locks both inner an outer beads of the tire with a center bead lock...not to mention protect the rim edges against hard hits. Honestly I thought you would know this..... but I guess not ....the bead lock adds mass to the center of wheel alleviating the need for balls to balance the tires...the military uses these rims specially because of these properties.
+BustedKnuckleVideo It just seems expensive, and complicated. I get that having a puncture or de-bead is work, and can ruin someone's race, but that only just might happen. And the bead-locker has to come off for every adjustment/bit of maintenance with this it seems.

Jake. Thanks for taking the time to get to know our product. Obviously well done my friend. We appreciate what you do for the off-road community.
He nailed it. Next up the process for UTVs!

We have been every year since 2011
Nice presentation! I dont have a use for these, but, its nice to know the technology is out there and how it works. Thanks for posting.
So glad everyone enjoyed it. Jake is getting pretty good at these!
Gunters Gara
Seems like a lot of work for a small reward
crazy where these have come. i remember when they first came out several years back in atv racing.
Not many people compete without them now. In everything from dirtbikes to Ultra4 cars
Old videos can still teach some dogs a thing or two. Great video and explanation
glad to help
hey Mr. Burkett! busted knuckle said your gonna get a more money bud! cause of your golden voice!!! don't forget the small people. 👍👍
haha
hey Jake it's awesome watching you do these videos man, your so passionate about it and get excited over small stuff like tire balls lol I get excited over small stuff as well
He knows his stuff!
glad to make you laugh! I'm in Vegas but my hearts in Georgia, have a good one sir.
when i come in from king of the hammers come see me at the Busted Knuckle area.
Yep come see us at KOH, always a good time
I follow them on instagram and they're pretty cool. I don't have a use for them but I'd like to try them one day.
They are awesome for racing
Nice setup. Very thorough explanation on it. I actually had a question that you answered in the vid.
glad to help!
Oh lawd don't give Jake the big head....
LOL

john martin foam beads? Interesting. Heck RC cars use memory foam in their tires.
Hey guys, its really nice see your videos, here in Brazil we couldn't find this tech things , but it always good to improve our ideias!
Nice job e good luck on competition Jake !
Busted Knuckel in Brazil lol!!!!!
Thanks for watching! Check out our entire Rock Rods Tech playlist for more.
Great video. I really enjoy these rock rods tech videos.
Thanks! We have more on the way so stay tuned
very thorough, clearly explained, learned something new today, thanks!
the more you know
learning a lot from videos thanks for the help
thanks for watching
Best videos for bouncing.
Thanks!

They are tunable so you put a certain pressure in the balls and a certain pressure in the tire. Drive shaft tech is on schedule for the next video.
That was interestingly kool! Never knew such a thing existed. Thanks
makes a big difference, so much so that many race series have outlawed them
what a golden voice!! You should be a sports announcer or even the kraft Mac and cheese spokesperson...."you know you love it"!!!
hahahahah that made me crack up! people i know call me "the weather man"
Jake will want a raise after seeing that comment. What's nothing times 2?
Who knew guys were going to these extremes just to mount a set of tires. Fascinating stuff.
Doing everything you can to gain a competitive edge.
Thanks for the video man and great explanation of them.
your welcome sir. Hope you liked it
Jake knows his stuff

Fancy Ziplock bags LOL
These are SICK!!! so now i could actually sell my heavy ass H1s. I would love to go to a 17 inch alum wheel!
A single beadlock and tireballs is a good combo
I love that bead press it makes life so much easier, question, being that bouncers generate so much speed at the wheel is it highway possible?? Another words could we also use them for on road as well as of course off road?? Loving the vids that you do, there should be a college for this stuff, we'll call it University of Busted Balls!!
With the right setup you could drive on the road with one
Thank's Jake, awesome. I'd heard of them but didn't now about what they were, where can I get some?
Thank's again BustedKnuckle !!!
We sell them over on our site www.bustedknuckleoffroad.com
BustedKnuckleVideo why did you stop carrying these?
Lots of Balls! LOL. Great video.
They help.
Very interesting video on lubed up balls. Remember kids;
Friction = Bad.
:)
Exactly lol
Haven't these been prohibited at KOH? I was recently browsing through the rule book and I think I remember reading that.
yes from all Ultra4 but at legal in other series
What a great idea. Temperpedic tires.
lol
Kick ass Mr Burkey!
Thank you sir, shot a couple more videos today that i think are going to be REALLY awesome
+jake burkey I like all your vids....you'd make a kickass teacher. You explain things so "real world".
Now we are getting to the good stuff!
Nice vid Burkey! That TC press is awesome looking, saw that or something similar a few years ago at the Expo and it caught my eye.
Thank you man, i watch your stuff too. Where are you located?
Nice video. Sorry for the late question but you installed them at a 45 degree angle. Does it matter if the bags are leaning in the direction of travel for the tire or against the direction of travel?
shouldn't make a difference.
Omg that's awesome great vid
Thanks we are a dealer if you ever need a set. We run them in buggies, trail rigs, and UTVs
See I get everything you're saying.. Only thing I don't understand is why you drew flowers on the white board??
hahaha i figured id get WAY more comments about wearing socks and crocs!!
+jake burkey haha right! Nah that one was too easy..
Bwhaha.....Jake's drawing skills....
I was waiting for that comment as well!
Damn that is quite a process, i thot my military bead locks with run flats were labor intensive. umm what kind of duration do you get with a set up ? if your were not a competitive rock bouncer?
They will last a long time even in a competitive rock bouncer basically maintenance free.
this new to me love it my kind of fun
Y'all should come trail ride Lewis chapel.. There r some videos of Brandon Dillon and the bacons out here.. Even a lil Tim bacon hill haha.. I feel like that riot buggy could own out here..
Ive been but didn't it get shut down?
+BustedKnuckleVideo The Harvey Rd side got gated off.. But the other entrance is wide open.. There are a couple of smaller entrances as well.. A lot of people think it got shut down.. But it was only one entrance..
ahh ok I see
Very cool - too expensive for the average joe, but not really needed either. Another great tool in the racer's pocket though-
yes sir, pricey, but after breaking/bending a couple wheels and cutting a couple tires they start to make sense
They hook!
Just curious your thoughts on them now, 3 years later. Still good, or not worth the fuss?
Still think they are worth it for sure
@@BustedKnuckleVideo awesome. They seem a little fussy to set up, but no worse than an internal beadlock. I can definitely see the advantages.
Is there a way to run tire balls and internal balancing media?
No.

Pretty smart really could used this long ago
they work well
how durable are these? How often do you need to change them out?
shouldnt have to change them out at all. Might have to put more ball lube in there from time to time.
ive never blown one. i have seen them blow before but if you hit something hard enough to blow a tire ball you have more than likely broken something in the drivetrain as well. They will take an incredibly hard hit

It is not recommended to use in street driven tires
OK well that's not helpful, without a reason that's meaningless.
You puncture one and now your tires not balanced.
Not really, and to the point it is it would be anyway with any balancing method.
@@snek9353 Ok, sounds like you know what you're talking about. Quit asking questions and run them at 70mph.
sure like find roller give me ideal what to do build my own
we can get you setup with everything you need www.bustedknuckleoffroad.com
Nice!👍
Thanks! 👍
did good job of it to
totaled?
cool never new this
started out as military applications
Sounds like an infomercial
you must not get it.
Huh, didn't even know this was an option. Run flat system for off reading.
It is expensive and a PITA but it works great
Tire balls are great, but maintenance sucks on them sometimes.
I havent had an issue thus far. Then again we don't endurance race either
You use them? Looking to pick the brain of someone who uses them.
They're not balls they're bladders
They call them Tire Balls.
Wow what a pain in the ass I'll just use tire blocks
These have a better level of tuneability compared to blocks. That is why we use them
why not use foam to fill the tire? it works for rc trucks, and equment like skid steers
No matter how much foam you pack in it'd be almost impossible to put enough in to have enough pressure..
foam wouldn't hold up. If the carcass of the tire had air pressure that would mean moisture was in there and would degrade the foam over time as well.
+BustedKnuckleVideo just a ideal, one size does not fit all, there is a big diffcen betrwin your buggy, and my rc trucks
Weight is the primary reason. These balls weigh a fraction of what a high density foam does in the same application.
guy's getting lit up never learn probably spilled more every drink
watching bree video she got a set nice buggy to
she does
fun bags at just the right time....lol
LMAO
i never even knew these things existed
now you know
BustedKnuckleVideo yeah i know a fair bit about cars and off road an engine stuff but i never new that learn something new everyday
Our Rock Rods tech videos have a ton of good info. check out the series
yeah teaches me to fix my own stuff we have a rhino 450 that we ran through water real fast and now it doesnt go as fast and doesnt want to climb hills , it only goes 20 mph top and thats down hill , we replaced fuel pump , fuel filter , air intake , and now whats left is either water in the engine block or the carborater is messed up , we also have to replace a 3rd axle and for the stuff we do thats a lot because we dont roll it and we dont do crazy hil climbs in it , its really just our farm and mudd buggy because the same place we messed it up at was where we mudd

they kill me try out do me all time
friend messed up new truck only had a week
What did he do?
that looks like a pain in the ass
It is worth the effort
Or you could just buy Hutchinson split rims
and how would that be the same as tire balls?
Busted Knuckle Films locks both inner an outer beads of the tire with a center bead lock...not to mention protect the rim edges against hard hits. Honestly I thought you would know this..... but I guess not ....the bead lock adds mass to the center of wheel alleviating the need for balls to balance the tires...the military uses these rims specially because of these properties.
yeah but when you cut a tire you are screwed, Not with tire balls!
Busted Knuckle Films true to true for sure👍
guy's bored need something to do
watch more videos
Pretty neat but looks like a PIA!
It is worth it
BustedKnuckleVideo I don’t doubt it for where it is needed.
less worries when racing
BustedKnuckleVideo yea man if I was racing I’d totally do it.
I'm ordering parts put back together 15000 dollars worth
that will get you started
These comments have got to be fake.
Why?
The dumbest thing i have ever seen..... next is busted knuckle blinker oil! And muffler bearings.... wtf....
It's not dumb if you race. But you are entitled to your opinion even if you are wrong and ignorant.
Nope. Sorry, no.
K
???
+BustedKnuckleVideo no idea..

Just about every Ultra4 racer, quad racer, and endurance dirt bike racer runs them. There has to be a reason for that
