    Let's look at this objectively.
He appears only in one episode of 1st season
A little in the beginning of second season. N then one proper appearance in the finale of 2nd season.
N then Only appeared in bits and pieces of abominable bride and His last vow of season three...
Then one scene in the final problem.
He is hardly anywhere yet such an impact!

I'm an Acting major in college and got my first agent last summer. Teachers never told me how hard it is to balance school with auditions!

Yeah man I just got an agent as well and school starts in February. They won't be submitting me during school because I will be in my college's musical. Rehearsals are very time consuming, as it turns out.

+lastofmykind8 That's my life right now! I'm in the school's one act play and my agent wants me to drive upstate for auditions... Sorry, I've got rehearsal! (please don't drop me)

Oh man. Sounds greedy. My agent suggested not to be submitted so that I can focus on the musical and the acting classes I'm taking there. Just talk to them and let them know you're enthusiastic to work but you just need to prioritize and you'll be ready to go as soon as it ends. :)

Uni/drama school is a time to be creative and push boundaries. For some it is the only time. Once you are out in the real world it becomes a business unless you are very lucky (and most of it is down to luck, one way or another) and are offered parts where you have some input rather than just being asked to hit your marks. Agents exist to make money - something that should not be forgotten - they are not really interested in your creativity unless it benefits them financially. I say this with over 30 years' experience performing. Writing things for yourself can help, but that's a whole other challenge in the dog eat dog world of performance...

Excellent post, Clara. Getting where Andrew is is about luck - and being persistent on getting better roles. There are many Andrews out there as actors who are more or less journeymen actors who are in less dynamic roles and less dynamic projects simply because of the lack of luck and not having a decent agent. As he said, and I paraphrase, "more interesting, more artful, more dynamic projects." Better agents are gatekeepers to these coveted scripts/roles.
What's scary is the only way to edge closer to "dynamic projects" is to see who's attached to it, and that's a chess game where actors need to position themselves to get their agent to vouch for them. You can have the lead in a lukewarm tv series but if no one of significance is producing it or acting alongside you your chance at being cast in an anticipated movie or tv series is slim to none. Consolation prize is that one got paid as an actor and now has some substance to add their reel. Hopefully a better agent sees the potential and comes a calling.
Once you get lucky and play that luck for a few projects you're more or less set on making tv/film acting your sole avenue of income. It's harder to become a working actor than it is to leave because good agents don't want you leave since you're a brand to them - you're one stream of revenue that also build their brand as an agent.
