My 2012 Camry SE does not have a rear view camera and am about to install the Roadanvi X12. Can you please explain how this head unit handles a 12v camera? I understand my camry has a rewired harness behind the shifting knob area below the head unit. Can the wiring from that harness be used? Just wanting to understand if I simply connect yellow rca of camera to the rear of the head unit and use the positive red wire from the head unit to power the camera?
It will probably work. It depends on your camera. The camera will get the negative from the radio with the rca cable. You only need that red wire to get the positive.
@@TechGeniusHacks reached out to Roadanvi and they said I should get positive from the reverse light. Why would I do that instead of getting from the fuse box or a constant 12v source. Any thoughts?
the new x12 can get the signal from the camera any time. The old versions were needing the electricity before the car starts to recognize everything. If you get it from the rear light it will be easy for you.
@@Techgeniusideas I've got another question! On the new X12 Roadanvi units, I see there is a canbus module. How does that factor in on installation? I'm seeing different people saying different things....like not connecting to your reverse lights or not needing to connect the reverse trigger. Any thought on how the canbus changes anything with the wiring? Thanks again!
Amazing video indeed! I'm now working on the backup camera according to this! Just curious where did you connected the power (thin red line) to the unit? I saw that you successfully set up the backup camera without a J connector.
Sometimes some radios are using a red wire coming from the radio that is 6 V but the camera is 12 V. You need to get that 12 V wire from either fuse box or rear gear lamp. If it is 6 V you need to use the cable coming from the radio.
I can't get wireless Carplay to work it stays in "Connecting please wait" what version of android and Zlink does your Unit have? (V5.4.42#6F5B4403C_WA my verison)

does the head unit not connect to the backup camera the car came with?
No there wasn’t any. That is a great idea :) for them to put one there.
