Yeah, limited scaling is fine (like Skyrim) but Oblivion made me avoid levelling as I couldn’t make the build I wanted without enemies becoming over levelled.
I would include fall damage. So annoying. I know it can be considered immersion breaking, but it’s more annoying to take damage from a ten foot drop imo.
How many times was different versions of grinding on here? Then you have party members reacting to a choice followed up by when choices have no weight. Odd list.
I agree with almost all of them. The one I don't agree with is the lack of control over party members. Frankly, I'd prefer not having to deal with that - it seems like extra work and it's not fun for me.
There is one real annoying one that is not even mentioned at all and that is having the proper save points at the proper times in games nothing is more frustrating than playing halfway through a level then dying then having to have to replay that same level at the very beginning again all that previous time playing that level is wasted and another aspect is you want to quit playing the game because it is getting late in the night but you keep playing because you want to get to the next save point so you don’t lose all the progress that you made next thing you know it’s 3:00 o’clock in the morning and you only have 3 or 4 hours of sleep and you have a lot to do the next day and your tired all day long because of lack of sleep that happens to a lot of gamers including myself
Multiple boss forms is always so annoying. Maybe 2 or 3 at the most but when it starts going into like 6+ it’s just not fun anymore. You are no longer happy for defeating him and completing the game you’re just irritated and happy that its finally over
I don't think any ending was quite as off-putting as Mass Effect 3's, but currently playing Starfield, I'm not looking forward to an "end" where NG+ offers multiple outcomes. Granted, I've never gotten that far because the game's many technical issues killed my immersion and thus my entertainment, but I'm not excited about playing through several iterations of the same story either on some "Ground Hogs Day" repeat.
I love grinding because I’m not a particularly great gamer, so if there is level scaling, I won’t play the game! I want my exploring and doing all side content to mean something.
1. (For turn based RPGs) Death of your "pointman"/main character is game over even if party is still alive and could revive w/spells or items 2. Crafting 3. Boss featuring horde
My biggest grip with RPG's is when games are OVERHYPED to ridiculous acclaim. Yes, I'm looking at you Dragon's Dogma 2 and Starfield. Two utterly overrated, slogs that died as quickly as they came. lol
I hate it when ultimate weapons are only available after you beat the last boss, or so late in the game that there is no use for them. FF games do this often, at least FF10 did not and had the dark aeons to use them against, but many games have no enemies left to use the best weapons against.
I have run into the forced side quests for levels with Hogwarts legacy. Side quests are suppose to otptional. Not feel like they are forced and pretty much main quest at that point.
I think Hogwarts is a bi tof a uniqu eone houg hin thas ti tlock spar to fth egam euntil you reac h hte required level which I agree can b eannoying bu tI think Hogwarts is moer of a exception than h erul ethough becaus ein most RPG's youcan jus tshoo thtroug hthe main stuff s olon ga syo uhav ethe right equipment. The only drawback is that if you are underlevelled you're likely going to find it harder but you d ogo in knowing that at least.
I don’t like level scaling because it diminishes the sense of your own progression within a game. Like when you first start out you only stick to those starter areas, you build up your strength then move away. When later in the game you return to that starter area for whatever reason, you see the mobs you once struggled against are nothing to you now. It a great feeling of accomplishment.
Creating your character but not being able to see it much during the game, particularly with first person RPGs. Skill trees with a bunch of nonsense worthless skills. The best weapons/skills locked until near the end of the game. In game merchants that sell a bunch of useless crap. Romance options which are pathetic.
I think this guys just wanted to list everything he could think of. Carrying capacities should be limited even more or at least capacities for the amount of weapons, potions, sellable wares etc you can carry. Resident Evil does this the best where if you can’t fit all your items in that box your shit out of luck.
Worst level-scaling I ever played was Mass Effect Andromeda in the vanilla version. No matter how much you levelled or what gear you got the same stupid alien-dog-monsters (for instance) on the first world would still be like three levels higher than you, soak up way too much damage, and would kill you in like two hits. Although I will say that the goblins in Oblivion are a close second as they go from chump enemy early in the game to somehow being more dangerous than Dremora at high levels.
Not big into RPGs, i like smaller elements of RPG in games but HATED having to collect a tone of worthless items and how they'd slow you down in cyberpunk. Just irritating
Level scaling is the only one that really bothers me. It’s like the developer saying screw all your hard work, it means nothing.
Yeah, limited scaling is fine (like Skyrim) but Oblivion made me avoid levelling as I couldn’t make the build I wanted without enemies becoming over levelled.
I hate scaling but some people like it. As long as I can turn it off,it's fine. If I can't, it's going back to the store the same day. 😊
i love dead island 1, but from start to finish, i never felt i was making any progress no matter how many levels i gained hahaha
Weight limits, no where to store stuff
I dont see doing side quests annoying as long they are good.
I'd much rather play side missions than spend many hours killing the same enemies.
All games should have a god mode where you cannot die. Very handy if you want to experience the story.
I feel like "rpg" definition has been stretched too much when Fortnite redskins like Syicide Squad are included.
I would include fall damage. So annoying. I know it can be considered immersion breaking, but it’s more annoying to take damage from a ten foot drop imo.
Yea, when I'm tanking explosions, bullets etc left and right. Seems kinda dumb to die from a fall lol
Level scaling is the worsttttt
yeah you don't feel stronger, can't plow through the enemies that gave you crap at the start of the game
Limited carry weight

Weapon Durability as well, annoying and useless mechanic.
So basically every RPG mechanic can feel annoying when is unbalanced and overused. Of course.
Weird list.
I see Oblivion thumbnail, I click watch.
The devs won't even listen to anything in this vid.
Wait Suicide squad is an RPG? I never knew.

As a big fan of Borderlands, I 100% support using the game for #7 as an example of RNG madness.
This list explains why CRPG's and TRPG's rarely see their proper place on other lists from this channel.
Yeah grinding gets really annoying in rpg games sadly.

Diablo4 has scaling enemies too
Yes but only to some level.
@@blackthorn8091after level 50 or so scaling isn't much of a thing

Still alive and kicking on my console (and I’m not the only one enjoying them)

Hello, there is a horror game called Dont Leave. Do you have a chance to make a video of it? It has just been released.

I actually like lvl scaling and horizontal progression, especially in online games...to smooth out vertical power creep

"Congrats. You managed to beat an enemy far above your level. Your reward: a weapon or piece of armor that you can't use right now." 😅

“Take Suicide Squad for instance”
“No”
Poorly-designed maps, causing me to run around aimlessly forever, trying to find something. Also level scaling.
"List" videos with no chapters.
Base Management in Fallout 4 ... I hate to say it , but Palworlds did it better
Weapon durability sucks.
First point itself is wrong. Do some basic research without putting videos. Diablo 4 has level scaling
Dragon plague

Ok so you don't like RPGS, did we really need a list of why you don't like RPGs? This channel is getting bad
Git guud, kid ;^)
So basically don't play rpgs... dumbest list ever..
