hey skillup, next time you get nakeyjakey on friendspersecond, please do ask about rap reviews. his rap reviews were some of my most replayed videos at the time.
The first trailer really was incredible. It’s even more impressive now that we know it was 2 years from release, and still looked polished. Devolver really invested some money on the reveal
This is why I love this channel. It's not always about blockbuster AAA behemoths. It's about GAMING and how creative and good that can be outside of that! This game looks amazing.
@@lukeseshIncorrect actually! James Turner didn't direct Pokemon Sword and Shield, they just designed the pokemon for it. They've also designed some pokemon for previous generations, but they haven't directed any of them.
I remember when I saw this trailer. The 3d reveal had me sitting up straight in my chair. The designer in me was giggling so much hearing about the design process of the combat, level design, mini games, etc. This is 100% on my radar
Fr, this game was on my radar the moment that happened. It took what looked like a basic top down game, and converted it into my most anticipated Indie in ages.
Funny how in a year with Wukong, elden ring DLC, Final fantasy and dozens of triple A open worlds action games, my most awaited games are Plucky squire and a New ace attorney collection
I love when you can instantly ID an artist based on their style. I hadn’t heard of this game but am very familiar with James Turner’s art on Twitter. Saw the SkillUp thumbnail and went “oh new James Turner game?!?”
Awesome to hear this game checks out. The 2D art style captured my attention when it was announced but then forgot about it. Thanks for the review and reminder.
One of the devs did a keynote presentation at PAX Aus last year, and it was absolutely fascinating hearing how the game evolved from its initial concept to here. Can't wait to check it out!
Well yeah, but you were pretty limited in how you could progress in 3D, as well as a time limit keeping you from staying in 3D for longer periods of time
Gives me 'it takes two' vibes in the sense that it's a feel good game that's well designed and delivers a new experience overall without even a glimpse of online services or purchasable unlocks.
I'm surprised and kind of disappointed that this doesn't have a release date yet, especially considering they're out there showing it off. Hopefully it sneaks into this year still!
This looks like dozens of games wrapped into one, but at the same time they are undeniably the same game/go together. One of the games I am most excited about for sure.
Sold! I want one. Great preview, as always. I totally agree: how has no one come up with something like this before? It seems like the logical extension of a Zelda game. Well, this is just as charming and twice as clever.
In the 3D world it's reminding me a bit of It Takes Two. Very different games but both show the devs love of games through how well designed everything is. I'm looking forward to this. Looks great!
This looks adorable and gives me the warm fuzzy feels like Little Big Planet did. Definitely added to the Wishlist on Steam. I'll be waiting for the release date for this one.
If you want something similar till this releases. RPG Time The Legend of Wright is worth picking up. Highly creative game from the point of view of a elementary or middle schooler using their desk as a foundation for their adventure. And it's on sale atm!
The sword throwing mechanic reminds me of God of Thunder, a classic game where you play Thor & a lot of the puzzle solving is based around throwing your hammer & repositioning before it returns to you.
Just looking at this, it made me remember what it was to be a kid. That shift from 2d to 3d is like going from a story world to an imaginary world and how the brain of a child will play with a hero, story, idea. I guess we adults do it in our mind, but the kids play it out, and this game looks just like that to me.
I just want to play this already. Ever since it dropped the first time. It's on the top of my list of games I look forward to. It looks amazing, with a lot of charm and clever mechanics put into it.
This looks like one of those games that I would play growing up on my Nintendo DS or WII or even PS2. I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those games that make a kids childhood

It's funny how sometimes you can get an immediate sense for how much love has been put into a game.
The first trailer really was incredible. It’s even more impressive now that we know it was 2 years from release, and still looked polished. Devolver really invested some money on the reveal
Yeah, It's also pretty sad when you can really tell that the amount was zero :(
Like a good meal, love makes a difference.
Exactly. It reminds me a bit of Cuphead in that sense for example.
Like with the new Suicide Squad game.
This is why I love this channel. It's not always about blockbuster AAA behemoths. It's about GAMING and how creative and good that can be outside of that! This game looks amazing.
That’s exactly why I subbed
I was coming here to comment this exact thing. I really appreciate that they care about cute, indie, cozy, and wholesome games
Pure facts!
Its published by devolver and made by a guy who directed the latest pokemon game lol.
@@lukeseshIncorrect actually! James Turner didn't direct Pokemon Sword and Shield, they just designed the pokemon for it. They've also designed some pokemon for previous generations, but they haven't directed any of them.
Link Between Worlds is in my top 3 Zelda games so I'm super excited to see that 2D -> 3D mechanic back. This game looks excellent.
I don't know what it is but whenever I see this game something is telling me that there's a lot of heart and passion behind it.
Reminds me of Tiny Kin, which is definitely more platformer, which is fantastic and needs a sequel ASAP.
Provably my most anticipated right now. The love and creativity is just spilling off the screen
*leaping off
Devolver are truly special. They just know what's up, and I'm all about it
Funny how in a year with Wukong, elden ring DLC, Final fantasy and dozens of triple A open worlds action games, my most awaited games are Plucky squire and a New ace attorney collection
I'm just surprised my GOTY so far is a AA game called Banishers
Twin where have you been
Yeah I’m also hyped for the collection as well
Nah it definitely was elden ring lmao
i can’t wait for this one, really just a gorgeous game and i’m happy it’s turning out well
Yeah I remember loving this concept in Super Mario Odyssey during the New Donk City level.
This is going to be huge. Can't wait. The game deserves to become popular
I love when you can instantly ID an artist based on their style. I hadn’t heard of this game but am very familiar with James Turner’s art on Twitter. Saw the SkillUp thumbnail and went “oh new James Turner game?!?”
It was really cool to hear he worked on Pokémon even all the way back on Colosseum and XD
The art style is pretty awesome
The 2D 3D transitions and then overlay it onto something else is just so cool, fresh and endearing. It looks amazing.
I'm so excited to play this, everything looks amazing and a lot of fun!
This is incredible. Really hope we get more of this. I want a part two already.
God bless Devolver for keeping the spirit of creativity alive in this damned industry.
This has been high on my radar since the announcement trailer. I'm glad to hear your positive impressions on it! This looks really fresh!
I've been looking forward to this one since the original announcement. Glad to hear they've pulled it off!
You might say the book is a link between worlds.
Huge thanks for highlighting this, looks like a day-one purchase for me.
Awesome to hear this game checks out. The 2D art style captured my attention when it was announced but then forgot about it. Thanks for the review and reminder.
Can't wait to get my finger on this, i was hooked from the first presentation. It will probably win my heart like Tunic did.
One of the devs did a keynote presentation at PAX Aus last year, and it was absolutely fascinating hearing how the game evolved from its initial concept to here. Can't wait to check it out!
It’s like those special pipe sections in Mario odyssey but expanded upon way more
Oh boy completely forgot about this one! It was the best looking thing in that presentation. Good to see its actually good
For sure one of my most anticipated games, love Devolver and am so happy to see/hear you enjoyed it Ralph.
Gives you that childlike splendor of LittleBigPlanet. which is a commendable achievement
So glad you played this and liked it, definitely one of my most anticipated games!
Sold, Shillup! I just placed it on my Steam Wishlist at the #2 spot! Looking forward ro it!
There was Super Paper Mario, which was all about changing between 2d and 3d
Well yeah, but you were pretty limited in how you could progress in 3D, as well as a time limit keeping you from staying in 3D for longer periods of time
My absolute childhood favourite!
Gives me 'it takes two' vibes in the sense that it's a feel good game that's well designed and delivers a new experience overall without even a glimpse of online services or purchasable unlocks.
I was super excited when i saw the reveal trailer. This just looks like such a fun game being made with care and love. Can't wait!
This looks great, nice to see the demo of it. Love quirky and innovative games
I'm surprised and kind of disappointed that this doesn't have a release date yet, especially considering they're out there showing it off. Hopefully it sneaks into this year still!
I completely forgot about this gem during the PlayStation showcase last year? Needless to say thank you for the memory refresher
This looks like dozens of games wrapped into one, but at the same time they are undeniably the same game/go together. One of the games I am most excited about for sure.
The art style is so lovely. I wonder why no one had thought this before
Really looking forward to this since it was revealed
Sold! I want one. Great preview, as always. I totally agree: how has no one come up with something like this before? It seems like the logical extension of a Zelda game. Well, this is just as charming and twice as clever.
Headed to wishlist now! Thanks @SkillUp
Love your unique style, never change!
This game looks so dope, easy wishlist add + buy, I hope the devs get the recognition they’ve clearly earned with such attention and care!
Ok Shillup's absolutely glowing in this preview. I'm pretty much sold at this point, despite the no pre-orders clause.
Reminds me of It Takes Two, which is a big compliment for me. Sounds incredible!
In the 3D world it's reminding me a bit of It Takes Two. Very different games but both show the devs love of games through how well designed everything is. I'm looking forward to this. Looks great!
I love everything about this and can't wait for it!
Okay I’m sold. I’m in. You’ve never let me down yet Skillothy Uperingham. Half of my games come from your Steam Curator page.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS GAME FOR SO LONG I'M SO HAPPY TO FINALLY SEE MORE INFO ABOUT IT AAAAAAAAAAAAA
Had this on my wishlist since the reveal trailer. Great to see that development is still going strong :)
I have been waiting eagerly for this game. The design is absolutely brilliant.
This looks adorable and gives me the warm fuzzy feels like Little Big Planet did. Definitely added to the Wishlist on Steam. I'll be waiting for the release date for this one.

Ironically, this is one of my most anticipated games this year
Gonna grab it on my switch. I've been looking out for this one since it was announced.

I've been looking forward for this game for a long time, and i'm excited to see that it will finally release.
This went straight on the wishlist after that initial trailer and this only reinforced that.
This has been at the top of my Steam wishlist for 2 years
The sword throwing mechanic reminds me of God of Thunder, a classic game where you play Thor & a lot of the puzzle solving is based around throwing your hammer & repositioning before it returns to you.
Wow this game has like 3d mario levels of creativity in it which is extremely rare and impressive I can’t wait to try it.
Really looking forward to this one. Especially after the tortuous Shadow of the Erdtree!
It's not very often that an innovative game comes along. Looking forward to this one.
hmmm i wish it had coop though, would fit right in for some chill sesions with a friend
So this is what creativity looks like
The minute I saw the trailer for this game in that direct it’s ALL I have been looking forward to
Already loving it ever since it was unveiled into the world and it 100% deserves the most creative and innovative game of the year!
Looks amazing! I hope it turns out as good as it looks.
This game looks incredible
Can't wait to check it out
Nice preview video
This is on my list since I saw it at the direct. Can not wait.

This is looking lovely! I only hope that the screen shake effect when attacking can be turned off. Shaking always feels bad for me.
this is my most anticipated indie of the year, it looks amazing
well, Psychonauts did some perspective + art style shifts too so its certainly not new at all.
That looks like lots of fun, love the art style aswell
There was a sick game that used a neat perspective change mechanic that I played way back called Fez.
That game was dope af
always love the love shown to indies on here. Never heard of this game but looks like a must buy for me
I just want to play this already. Ever since it dropped the first time. It's on the top of my list of games I look forward to. It looks amazing, with a lot of charm and clever mechanics put into it.
I'm legit so hyped for this. Everything about this game looks fantastic.
This looks like one of those games that I would play growing up on my Nintendo DS or WII or even PS2. I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those games that make a kids childhood
one of my most anticipated games in years
The game, the video, and the sponsor are just brilliant 😂

After diving deep into Strinova, yeah I'm interested in PluckySquire xD
I'm not usually up for these games but this is such a breathe of fresh air I'm actually hyped to see an actual great concept for a game
Havent been this hyped for a game in years
The more “plataformers” the better. Easiest Wish list ever
I can’t wait for this one to come out, it just looks so cute
So glad to see you loved it too!
This one’s been high on my watch list since I first saw it, glad to hear it’s good so far! Great review shill
