The original "Angel" is a very beautiful fragrance. It doesn't smell the same on everybody. I can still smell the original "Angel" in the "Angel Elixir." The "Angel Elixir" has an oriental/woodsy scent to it. It smells better when it settles down. I bought the travel spray as a test. NOT BAD! 👀💯👀
I trust only you, Soki. When I heard that Angel Elixir was coming out, yours was the first review I looked for. I adore the original Angel, it's always been my signature fragrance. I don't bother with the flankers. The original Angel is the one and only but just to honor the legacy of the late, great Thierry Mugler, I will test this on my skin before I decide to purchase. I feel like they’re really milking the Angel Cow. The bottle looks so good and I really hoped for it being the essence of original Angel or a new interpretation of it. But this- no!
I am not too fond of the original Alien as my body chemistry does not mix well with patchouli so for this new Alien Elixir, it is my type of scent. Comforting, feminine and pretty. Love it!
I have Valentino Voce Viva and Mugler Angel Elixir and they are noticeably different to me. Our noses/brains really do pick up things different. I enjoy Angel Elixir more. I do agree that a purple star would have fit better, but they were trying to use the color and name to increase profit.
Big fan of this brand . It was one of the first fragrances I used in my mid teens . Bottles are always awesome. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this one .
Mugler is my favorite designer brand because of it's uniqueness... Most of that uniqueness was taken the brand was sold to L'oreal... Before we were dealing with love or hate fragrances, but precisely that was the edge of the brand... Now we are dealing with more commercial, well liked, mass pleasing kind of fragrances, which are good but not ground breaking... ❤️
I’ve tried at least 2 of 3 angel range last week and I’ve got to say as someone who is new to the mugler fragrances I preferred the angel range over the alien range
I’ve tried many times with Angel EDP..each time rushed to wash it off a few minutes later. Maybe it’s something off with my skin 🤷🏻♀️ anyways, I’m team Alien. Went to the store this month and a lady sprayed the new Angel on my wrist and 🤯 Loved it! Nothing indeed like the original. Got my bottle the week after.
Might give it a try.....my personal favourite perfume of Thierry Mugler is Alien Flora Futura, an eau de toilette.....seems to have been discontinued in stores here in France, but pops up online from time to time
I was not completely loving it but after you let it sit babyyyyyy it's sooo good I agree it's nothing like Angel I think imo they should have just name it elixir ❤❤❤
L'Oréal have ruined mugler.. discontinuing angel muse edp and edt, aura (the edt was lovely), alien essence absolue and now totally changing angel and putting ambroxan in it. The perfumes they are coming out with now are not distinctive at all. Alien goddess, angel iced star, angel nova could have been made by anyone.
I agree, except for Angel Nova, as it truly was the last flanker that still had the Thierry Mugler touch. The only designer perfume in Ulta and Sephora to feature Oud. So no Nova was our last gift from the brand❤
The original Angel has been my signature for years. This new elixir is starting to take its place. I do find this very unique and I get slight ties to the old Angel Comet EDT 💙

A purple or black star would good as this is totally different from the original. This was made for people that dont like super strong patchouli fragrances. Its soapy ,ambery and very sweet. Ive got Voce Viva intenese and Angel Elixir in minis. Voce Viva starts of fruity where Elixir has pink pepper instead and a stronger ambery scent Both have a creamy and sweet dry down though.
I first sprayed it fell in love. Went to the store thinking it was angel and I was disappointed. Today I looked at it closely and realized it was elixer. It smells like Valentino Born in Roma Intense version. Like almost identical. I liked that one but it was too strong and almost headache inducing. I smelled burnt coconut in that one. So I will go buy the Angel Elixer because I can tolerate it and love it. ❤thank you

Hi Soki I have smelt this and I do like it, it has good lasting power, I do have Angel edt which I love I don't know if I would buy it I am waiting for Iris Absolu lol, I know I will definitely be buying this!
I just got a sample of the Iris Absolu. It's very similar to the OG LVEB but even more sweet with powdery iris. I'm not sure it's different enough to own both. It's super strong!
At first when I tried angel elixir I really didn’t like I thought it was too strong but as I’ve had for nearly 1 year now I’ve grown to like it. I had the scent addict subscription from the fragrance shop. The only thing I will is although I do really like the angel elixir I found it and still find it really strong and have to be careful when I test it because I suffer with chronic migraines that get really bad and this is one of the perfumes that aggravates my migraines and makes them worse. So I was wondering if there is an angel perfume that I could use or weather they would all make my migraines worse.
Angel elixir smells like a combination of Soleil Blanc and Not Your Baby. It has a popcorny element to it that I ONLY smell on me not on anyone else who I smell it on. I really like it
Funny on me the original doesnt smell like Patchouli much at all other than the sweet notes... definately fruity, but to me smells like warm blackberries in the summer sun. Its my all time Fav!❤
Was looking forward to your review about this!! My sample is also on it's way (I hope, sometimes they don't arrive, looking at you, Paco Rabanne). The original Angel: to my nose: too much going on, a mess, a patchouli mess (and I hate dirty patchouli, wich is exactly what normal Angel is). I'm more of an Alien girl, although sometimes it turns into a bug spray scent, depending on the weather. Never tried Muse, and have tried Angel Nova (not the EDT but the EDP) which was too synthetic and pungeant for my nose. Nova had a reminescence to Carolina Herrera's Very Good Girl, but then I like the latter way more (but still a bit too sharp/tart as well). Guess this one will be more up my alley: I like the new white floral releases, although they're all a bit of the same? Saw people comparing Angel Elixir to Victor & Rolf's good Fortune (which I liked for the special herbal note in it). I liked my sample of Alien godess (very good for spring!) and I'm in love with Alien Godess Intense. But not sure if I would pay so much money (i think Mugler is rather expensive compared to other brands) for Alien godess or this. Will see. :) Think my favorite sexy white floral is now Dor j'adore infinissime.
I have a bottle of original Angel EDP and for some reason it absolutely doesn't suit me, I think it smells great on others, very sweet and unique but on me it smells sickening and weirdly aromatic. I'm curious to try the EDT version, apparently it is lighter so maybe I'll prefer it

Thank you for your review, for me this is Alien Godess Intense but make it Angel.. honestly the biggest downgrade. Mugler was famous and made a name for itself because they were standing out and scents were trully more foward to different directions. I feel like now they jumped straight into crowd pleasers this Elixir smells like each new release designers had this year. They all smell the same nobody brought anything unique to the market.
I've ordered this from escentual as their doing 25%off all perfumes. Notice its a 25ml rather than a 30ml but I'm getting a free 10ml sample of it aswell so not bad there. I have smelt it and its nothing like angel so I agree with you on being misleading. I don't like that L'Oréal have took over, I think they've messed with mugler perfumes. I have all the angel and Allen ones and I'm a angel girl. I do feel a little let down with how misleading this one is and I only bought it for the huge discount escentual are doing otherwise I would never pay £65 for 25ml!!!! X
To me it smells like a nicer longer lasting as jasmine cherry blossom from bath and body works lol. It's nice but I'm not sure it's worth the price. In my opinion
Uh another jasmine perfume. I really can’t get behind that note. Angel Nova is what started my perfume collection and it’s still my favorite. It’s almost warm enough to bring it out again!

I tried it this morning i got the sample as a gift with purchase and it didn't impress me much,maybe the dry down is a little bit better but nothing unique unfortunately 🙈🙃🌷🥰

I honestly think this is horrible what they did calling it Angel elixir and had nothing to do with original Angel smells nothing at all like it and price wise it’s expensive you complained about Chanel price but this is 185.00 US dollars that’s expensive

I really like it. The original is way too strong for me and this one gives me angel vibes without giving me the headache the original gives me.
Original Angel was, above everything else, chocolate. Then patchouli.
And it was wonderful.
Now it's just a sweet patchouli. Really sad.

I absolutely dislike the original Angel, I don't like patchouli and definitely no chocolate scents and I guess why I adore this one
