The Best Old School Polaris Mountain Snowmobiles!! Proof Vintage Sleds Are Capable Mountain Machines

Is it "all about skill" or is it "all about having the latest and greatest Snowmobile"? Or maybe it's a bit of both? Old School Mountain Sleds in my mind is anything with trailing arms. Today we take a good look at three prime examples from Polaris. A 1997 RMK 700, a 2000 RMK 800, and a 2004 SwitchBack 700.

Just pure nostalgia for me watching these old sleds still ripping. Ill take the 700 wedge anyday, my relative had a 700SKS version which he'd drag race on new years. He went up against alot of fast sleds, off the line his 700 was unbeaten, they quit due to the fact that it was too dangerous. Good post!

During these era's I was a Polaris guy, but that Screw-Doo XM800hundo sounded so clean! She's a ripper for sure!...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠 I typed all this then remembered the 94Formula583, and the 95MXZ583, and 3early 90's 🐈 Cat's parked in the back yard!

I'm a 250 Tundra 1st, Polaris liberty and Yamaha triple 700 person, now I'm just utilizing this barnfind 90s Jag440LT which I geared down and had my relative do the clutch work to match the gear ratio for work now I barley get past 55😂 strong little tractor for my logging needs👍👍

Elans my friends, Them and old 70s TNTs and other models of the 340 and 440 era. Those are beyond fun when you get 5 plus buddies running a mini track. Cool video none the less but yall should gang up and buy a few of them and post videos on a home made coarse. Tons of views will come

You are right. The old sleds are a hoot. There are a few videos of my buddies and I ripping 1978 panthers at fairly high elevation on my channel. I also host a race called the FEEDER 500. We race old sleds and new sleds in separate classes in both oval track and drag race disciplines.

I would say it can be vintage without trail arms. Cat went A-arms way before anyone else so all those sweet 90s Mountain Cats are trailing arm free.
