You guys need to take it easy with Rep. Raul Labrador. He misspoke when he said, "nobody dies because they don't have access to healthcare." What he was trying to say was, "let them eat cake."

Torben Otten If we're all nitpicking, Livid Imp technically didn't mention Marie Antionette.
It's much more insidious than that. Republicans keep saying ACCESS to healthcare. Not "Nobody dies because they can't get healthcare" or "Nobody dies because they can't afford healthcare" (which are both false) but "Nobody dies because they don't have access to healthcare" which is technically true. Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean you don't have access to it.
It's true in the same way that everybody has access to lamborghinis and yachts. I can't afford either of those things, but that doesn't prevent me from having access to them if I were to win the lottery!
THe reason you had so much trouble lighting it was because you neglected to have some random orphan light it for you. People with monocles do not light their own cigarettes.

Well, it ain't perfect here (Romania) but it's better than nothing. Doctors are quite badly underpaid, so the better ones tend to go work in other countries. Pros: if you need urgent treatment, you get urgent treatment, paid for via taxation. No exceptions. You can also get relatively simple diagnoses and medical advice for free. Cons: for more specialised/difficult surgeries or treatments, you kinda need to go to another country if you have the money. Same with more obscure and unusual medical conditions.
So basically the exact inverse of the US system. I wish we had the UK system here, to be honest. It's much better run. Although there are people pushing for privatizing it in government right now, and it's a mad dash for them to keep their system.
