    It would be great if you could search the "popularity", "danceability" and "energy" scores for each genre. I want a list of songs that all score above 80% so I can make a new crate.

    Been able to add fields to the searching it does when I builds the crates from your library would be nice to help narrow the searches.

    Reading the room and also creating a setlist beforehand... seems legit.

    Good tip and useful tool thanks .
    Another additional tool on top of what I already know …good Dj need to do more to analyse the the audience and keep practising and learn and learn …

    For Bars, Night Clubs and Weddings this is really COOL 😎...for gentleman's clubs/strip clubs...you have to do a few adjustments (ie: club energy, stripper danceability, customers tipping', etc.) This might just work!🤔☺️😎👍💪💯

    I worked at a 24 hour Nightclub as a Lighting Designer and the best DJ played in 3s. More filler and Less Killer and sometimes these sets of 3 records, wouldn't have any killer. All the great DJ'S get the crowd off the clock and most of the time it was not the big record that got the reaction, it was the record that had people knocking at the door wondering what the he'll is the name of that record. I worked with a guy who played non dicript, Tribal Dubs for hours and he'd beat you so hard that you wanted some more.

    Interesting. So, how does an algorithm determine what’s trending and what sounds more “energetic”?
    What if I play music that’s more niche and less trending? If an evening’s promoted as featuring music that’s not too-40 and often 20-40+ years old, is the “trending” Star going to be relevant? Yeah, sure, there’s still the odd request for Rihanna from someone who just wandered in, but to not play that doesn’t mean it’s due to the DJ having an “ego”.

    Any tips on how to find the danceability and popularity scores for an entire existing music library without having to search the songs individually?

    Great tip, but how can you apply that if im lets say only oldschool hip hop dj or techno dj for example?

    • @cratehackers
      @cratehackers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point. Popularity scores should still apply even to the older songs. From there, it's a matter of gut!

    hmmm, i see what you are getting at, but things like "energry level" are not an exact science , and things flucutuate with time too. also depends on what song preceeded it or followed it , same thing doesnt always work on different nights... lot of it comes down to intuition.

      Oh for sure! Don't bet the bank of the small metrics. Your instincts always lead. - Aaron

    good info... but.... 24k magic fell flat last year, I took it out of rotation. Whereas Treasure still worked a bit... YMMV.

    Most important tip. Know your audience. No matter how much data you have, timing & placement is key. Read the crowd & take them on a journey. Otherwise, you are simply a Spotify playlist. (Human jukebox)
