I loved Vortex, and will miss it next time I make it to KI, but man, it would jerk you around, and I was always left with bruises on my shoulders from the restraints.

Oh man, you have to go back and ride Racer after the retrack. It is delightful! Glad you got to ride the legendary Vortex before it was removed, loved that coaster so much.
thanks for including the Vortex it brings back some fun memories and if you didn't know that The Beast is the longest and oldest wooden rollercoaster in the world and has been around since it's opening debut on April 14,1979 yes it's 42 years old and it's also one of my favorites there at the park... and where the firehawk sat is now the home of Orion so I'm wondering what's next to come to the park to replace the empty space where the Vortex once sat.
I hope you rode Diamondback again and hopefully got a back row ride. The train is one of only 4 staggered row B&M models and since it has that longer train, you really get yanked over the hill for the drop. The airtime is unreal!
Unfortunately the day of our visit, a huge thunderstorm rolled thru mid afternoon and washed out the rest of our day there. Never got a 2nd ride on D-back. Next visit tho!
@@FrontSeatMedia not to knock DBack, but it’s back row or bust for me. The airtime is good in the front row on the camelback hills, but it’s the most intense floater airtime I’ve ever experienced in the back row. And that first drop takes the 215 ft drop and intensifies it lifting you out of your seat before you even crest the hill, then that 215 ft feels almost the same as the 300 ft drop on Orion. It’s crazy the difference.
The Beast sure is a good name for that coaster!!! Man, it's fast and so long!!! Adventure Express looks like a nice family coaster. Kings Island's Backlot looks more fun than the one at Kings Dominion, I noticed in this video they're slightly different, but something about KI's it looks better.
Beast is a great coaster. Adventure express is a great starter coaster and backlot at ki has a lot of its affects running compared to what I’ve seen in videos at dominion
@@lukejensen2521 I'm sure that it is. I would love to ride it someday! That's what I noticed here in the video that the effects were running. When I rode Back Lot Stunt Coaster at Kings Dominion, the effects weren't running which took a lot of the fun out of it and then not long after I rode it they shut it down for some reason. I got off and went to Intimidator 305 to meet back up with my parents and when we walked by Backlot it was closed. I'd have hate to be the one just about to get in the train and they tell you it's closed.
I love all kinds of theme and amusement parks and I love watching and learning about coasters, but I haven't ridden many because I was scared of drops and could never get okay with the organ-floaty feeling on the few I went on as a kid. Going on Saturday with some friends and hoping to overcome this, and this video helps a lot! It's good knowing what to expect, and I figured out a plan to start with some of the more tame coasters that don't have a ton of elements I'm unfamiliar or uncomfortable with and then work my way up as I go through the park. Thanks for all the great video!!
diamondback the only roller coaster to ever scare me... not because of the actual height or speed but them seats it feels like you can fall right out lol
Hey any tips on learning on how to face your fears of rollercoasters.I had this since I was like 6 or something and still have yet to get on one Edit:I got on Thunderhawk at Dorney,I might get on Hydra next :D
Idk how but i somehow did it. I went to seaworld last year as a school field trip and there were 2 options, roller coasters or no rollerocasters. I basically just picked roller coasters to face my fear. After that I really liked them. All you need to do is just believe that you can!
I was at KI yesterday and i rode Mystic Timbers and the Bat for the 1st time ever (i don't go too too often) and if you didn't need to put ur bags in a conveniently placed locker for MT, and the line was shorter, i would have ridden it multiple times. the back of the train is not AS good because *SPOILER* when ut in the shed you cant hear any of the music or projection wall. MT is VERY fast at 56mph. it does NOT feel like that. it felt a lot faster and as my dad said, it reminded him of The Beast, but better. My #1 fav ride at KI 100% would recommend MT no matter the age. But for the Bat i was scared to death the 1st time cuz it has a 70 ft drop (I rode this before MT which has a 109 ft drop) and its the tallest ride i've ever ridden (other than like the Windseeker or whatever) and the slow chain lift didn't help much,oh and there was a clanking above my head (the little triangles on the lift hill so if the chain breaks the train doesn't roll back into the station. but the chain lift set aside i was in the middle to back for the first time and the one behind the front the 2nd time, and theres a little drop at the top, and then it does a u-turn then the big one (which is only at a ~45 deg angle smh) and it was amazing, theres swinging and its one of my new fav rides at KI (MT being #1) Edit: P.S. you forgot Orion (which i barely saw anyone on yesterday i wonder why)
ive only been on a handful of rollercoasters at kings island, but banshee was my absolute favourite. the speed was comfortable, and the loops werent that bad. the part where i felt sick at was actually the last corkscrew. i loved it more than orion

The day we shot this video, a bad thunderstorm rolled in around 3 pm and rained out the rest of our day. We were so bummed.
But we shall return!
@@FrontSeatMedia When it started raining on Vortex it brought back many memories of that coaster, I can recall at least 5 times of it starting to rain on us as soon as we got on it too and a couple times we got totally drenched lol!
2nd last? You’re a legend!
I rode the Bat a day or two before it fell of track killing at least one. I forget... Was in the 80's. I rode it maybe 5 times and I didn't like how it swung so much
I loved the banshee so much that I went on it like 4 times in a row! I loved it so much!
I thoroughly enjoy these videos😁
Thank you so much!
We love making these videos for you guys!
His comments are always spot on. Diamondback he said smooth. Racer is rough. Bat short and sweet. One hundred percent spot on every time based on my experience. I gives credibility to any review elsewhere for me.
"Me and my boys were just at Cedar Point yesterday"
and 80 music, especially Total Eclipse of the Heart, awesome music. Im watching this to mentally prepare myself for when me and my friend go in september😂
Edit: I didn't get to go Sept. But I am getting to go June/July 2022 for my birthday.
Have fun, dude!
And 80s Music like totally rules!
yo you went yet?
A lot of these roller coasters look so much fun!
I’m going to kings island on Tuesday so I can try to overcome my fear of roller coasters. Wish me luck
Good luck man! It took me a bit to overcome my fear as well, but the day will come
@@SwiPapa5026 I will make sure by the time I come back I could confidently say that I am no longer scared of roller coasters lmao
me too! can't wait to ride the new coaster
@@_.kalico._ bro Orion was amazing! Your like scared out of your mind and when you fall it feels like your flying. After I went on Viking fury, Invertigo and Banshee it prepared me for it all. The drop feeling is still there but you learn how to make it into excitement and fun🤩
@@SwiPapa5026 guess today was the day bud. I rode rides like Banshee, twice Invertigo, Diamond back twice , Delruim and Orion and I loved it all😂
I love all of the rollercoaster in the world!
Ok. Banshee looks horridly terrifying
Not really
24:05 “my head hurts” 😂
Man I wish I had gotten to ride that
So classic... end of Vortex, young kid: "My head hurts". Yep... ride in a nutshell.... but what a ride. I miss the old man.
My ride on Vortex in a pouring rain was so Classic!
And you were the 2nd to last train before suspension due to weather... timely!
I loved Vortex, and will miss it next time I make it to KI, but man, it would jerk you around, and I was always left with bruises on my shoulders from the restraints.
I gone to kings island multiple times but I always miss it, thank you for your POVs they help the wait to go back
Watching this brings back alot of memories of when we use to go alot during the summer months... The Vortex was the roughest ride to me.. had to know how to hold your head in a certain position so that you wouldn't get whiplash... Never made it on the son of beast I was too afraid to ride that ride just had too many problems. But great video... I may go back another time and ride the diamondback in the Orion before the season closes.
The conversation with the random guy on the diamondback was so wholesome lol reminds me of some randoms I’ve been on rollercoasters with .
Went to Ohio for a lacrosse tournament and got to visit this place, pretty amazing experience, although I couldn’t get on everything I did get to try Orion and it definitely tops everything at my home park six flags great America!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hope you got to ride The Beast.
It's pretty much the flagship coaster at Kings Island.
I can’t wait to go to KI in June!! I’m looking forward to riding Banshee!
Just went there this weekend and rode orion for the first time, you MUST try it at night its incredible. I rank it above millenium force.
Bro I have trauma on the beast 😂
I was in third grade and my dad got me on it
That’s why I stopped liking roller coasters for a while
Now I love them again 😂
I’m visiting my sister that goes to college at UK, so I can’t wait to go here. I have an immense fear of heights, so I came here to see which ones I might enjoy
I grew up going to King's Island... I still live about two hours away and I go every year for my birthday. I'm going to Cedar Point this week though! I've never been. Wish me luck!
Man I miss the Vortex it was my favorite ride there at Kings Island!
Still sad catching glimpses of Vortex as well as seeing the POV. Cant wait to see what will be going in its place!
You DEFINITELY got a like simply because you mentioned six Flags Great adventure....have you done vid for that already? Nitro and king da ka closed as soon as we got there 😂😂😭!

The beast is a classic and one of my favorites despite its slow lift chain. It’s worth it!!✨
you know it's old when the vortex is there 😩
Wait why isn’t it there anymore?
@@Mhamon77 it’s too old now
@@phanomkuji6928 so they replaced it?

Thanks for the info on Kings Island. It's been about 30 years since I've been to Kings. We live closer to Cedar Point, but thinking we'll spend a weekend out there.... Thanks again
Flight of fear is the best!
Yea. The line is always soooo long
Wrong.
@@davidmcaninch4714 it’s not the best But pretty good. I’ll say Orion or mystic timber’s is the best

Have fun, man!
R.I.P the Vortex. :(
Orion is a pretty sick ride, though.
The Banshee is one one my top favorites, though.
Oh man, you have to go back and ride Racer after the retrack. It is delightful! Glad you got to ride the legendary Vortex before it was removed, loved that coaster so much.
I went to kings island in 1985 on our 8th grade school trip we had a awesome time great memories
thanks for including the Vortex it brings back some fun memories and if you didn't know that The Beast is the longest and oldest wooden rollercoaster in the world and has been around since it's opening debut on April 14,1979 yes it's 42 years old and it's also one of my favorites there at the park... and where the firehawk sat is now the home of Orion so I'm wondering what's next to come to the park to replace the empty space where the Vortex once sat.
The record was beaten a long time ago I heard. The Beast may not even be in top 5 now
It’s not the oldest
i’m going next week and i’m so excited, i haven’t been there in 6 years!!!
14:51 Was about to go deaf with my airpods in 💀
I miss KI, last time I was there was probs 6-7 years ago? I hope Flight Of Fear still has the retro vending machines by its exits
i was at KI today and im pretty sure they are still there!
We need more coasters like the Firehawk, it was amazing 🔥
X2 is the only other one i know of
The Beast sure is a good name for that coaster!!!
@@sportsygirl8 coming to kings island is definitely worth it
@@lukejensen2521 I'm sure it would!
Adventure Express may look mild and timid on video, but in real life. It will beat the crap out of you.
Mystic Timbers back row.... insane ride!!!
The banshee is the best coaster
Did you hear the news??
I love all kinds of theme and amusement parks and I love watching and learning about coasters, but I haven't ridden many because I was scared of drops and could never get okay with the organ-floaty feeling on the few I went on as a kid. Going on Saturday with some friends and hoping to overcome this, and this video helps a lot! It's good knowing what to expect, and I figured out a plan to start with some of the more tame coasters that don't have a ton of elements I'm unfamiliar or uncomfortable with and then work my way up as I go through the park. Thanks for all the great video!!
I swear he’s the joker on every ride he just laughs lol
banshee might be my favorite
I’m going there ,this weekend
Have fun, man!
Ride all the coasters!
Same!
I’m going there Monday
I went there the same time as you did u go on Saturday?
Cool many I saw you
The kids in the background of the Vortex were the best thing I have seen all day.
I remeber the day my mom and aunt tricked me to getting on the banshee. Had fun but will never forgive them 😂
Diamond back and Orion was the most scariest and most fun roller coasters I have ever been on
diamondback the only roller coaster to ever scare me... not because of the actual height or speed but them seats it feels like you can fall right out lol
and the beast hill usually never is that slow to go up the hill lol ,its old
Really? I think there are super comfy.
i’m literally passing out looking at the banshee clip, and you’re still going strong with a mere “oh baby”
Here we go!! Yeah!!!!
Hey any tips on learning on how to face your fears of rollercoasters.I had this since I was like 6 or something and still have yet to get on one
Edit:I got on Thunderhawk at Dorney,I might get on Hydra next :D
Idk how but i somehow did it. I went to seaworld last year as a school field trip and there were 2 options, roller coasters or no rollerocasters. I basically just picked roller coasters to face my fear. After that I really liked them. All you need to do is just believe that you can!
@@onlinematthew Thx :D
try riding the small ones first, adventure express and the racers are awesome starters :D
you just gotta go on one, then ur hooked
@@Squelchmeky exactly what happened to me. I faced my fear literally 1 day before COVID and now I’m just dying to go on them.
I went n the Racer a couple days before he uploaded this, the first hills get me the most. Great ride though.
But for the Bat i was scared to death the 1st time cuz it has a 70 ft drop (I rode this before MT which has a 109 ft drop) and its the tallest ride i've ever ridden (other than like the Windseeker or whatever) and the slow chain lift didn't help much,oh and there was a clanking above my head (the little triangles on the lift hill so if the chain breaks the train doesn't roll back into the station. but the chain lift set aside i was in the middle to back for the first time and the one behind the front the 2nd time, and theres a little drop at the top, and then it does a u-turn then the big one (which is only at a ~45 deg angle smh) and it was amazing, theres swinging and its one of my new fav rides at KI (MT being #1)
Edit: P.S. you forgot Orion (which i barely saw anyone on yesterday i wonder why)
Your soul leaves your body when you ride orion
@@rivalx7137 100 percent yes

Do you mind telling me when this video was taken? I don't see people wearing masks and Vortex is still a ride.
when he made it you dont have to wear a mask anymore
@@kaydeng1122 he was asking for a date he was already aware they didn't have masks
He most likely took it shortly before the upload date. Ohio hasn't required masks for the past few weeks
this is a late upload because vortex was taken down and he does not have KI's new giga coaster in this video
@@getbrainseeds thanks
ive only been on a handful of rollercoasters at kings island, but banshee was my absolute favourite. the speed was comfortable, and the loops werent that bad. the part where i felt sick at was actually the last corkscrew. i loved it more than orion
