For example, MJ Holding are some of the biggest hoarders. Prices will come down eventually and there should be more than enough product to go around for everyone… hopefully.

This said, remember, this set will have new products released ALL throughout at least September 26th, 2025 and that's just on what was revealed this week. Don't overpay on this regardless of how GOATed the set may or may not be. You will have time to pick up the cards & packs you want at an affordable price for a few years before prices move permanently. With JPN set, same thing where you should always plan around PC JPN printing to global demand as well. We're not in SM Era where they weren't certain of the global appeal. Don't get scammed (by sketchy places that undercharge you bc they're fake/resealed/searched) and don't overpay (by buying a ton at the start and having your entire collection devalue over the next 2-3 years). If you want to buy a card, buy it knowing it will likely lose financial value for a few years. Not only does this make you safer with your collection budgeting, but it also ensures you're only buying the cards that speak to you. Collecting what speaks to you will always do better long term than collecting what you don't like (hence why I don't touch Trainer cards)

Even then, as much as I’m hyped for this set, I’m just going to treat it similar to 151. Just buy when I see it in store. I refuse purchasing unopened items from scalpers 🙅🏻♀️
Booster Bundles dropped today and sold out instantly? I am really not that worried about it. I know stores will have it and I'll pick up what I can and that's the end of it. If people would stop giving in to these Rip and shippers that would put an end to all this. But of course that'll never happen. Yeah, as someone who likes to mass open packs on the cheap for sets in general, this one is going to suck. I'll get what I can get. No way this set doesn't get reprinted because of the masterball headache. They really put the masterball thing in the WRONG set with this one. They pretty much locked in that the next special set will get ignored. A purely eevee set didn't need help. Frankly, neither did 151(in JP). Oh well. They will figure it out when they realize that paldean fates, shrouded fable and whatever special set comes out after the eevee set sit on shelves for years and gets sent back to pokemon from big box stores. This is not fomo i'm really that worried about in the long view. what Opossum said around 9:00 is good advice peeps. I was actually excited in that sense. Its giving me a chance to fill out the collection. Tons of random cards across the ages I am going for. I'm hoping some investors will be dumping some of their singles to make cash flow for flipping sealed surging sparks and the swarovski eevee set. And as always scarlet and violet singles are out there, and the prices I'm hoping stay suppressed for all this FOMO. Though my binder for this eevee set will have to sit pretty empty for about a year I'd guess. I dunno, people have their panic moments it seems. I might jump on the umbreon early just because I remember moonbreon at $300 on release....and then it just never got cheaper. At $600 I realized I mistake. If it doesn't do that again, I'll be MORE than happy to be wrong, take the L and be happy for everyone out there who really genuinely wants to collect the cards. Not my favorite set. At least the stellar-type crown is not as bad as the single type tera crowns...but it still hurts my soul to see all these arts with the silly hats...Lets see what else this set offers. Low info collectors or parents usually are the ones who buy those. They have no sense of what the price is, and that the set, while popular, is unlikely to go for 3x msrp. Again, not that they really know what the MSRP actually is. Think like a total novice, you see a "elite trainer box" for $150 and you think, "wow, it says its elite, it has a ton of packs in it, and it has a rare promotional card and all these other things in it like special card sleeves? I think I'll get that for little sally and little billy!" Not knowing that normally its a $50, and for many sets you can find them for $30 easily. Education for the masses is something I'd like to take a crack at, but we will see. maybe I should hoof it considering christmas is upon us...
prints the same but scalpers going crazy. Personally the best way to collect imo is to buy a couple packs when you can to feed the addiction and then buy singles. 90% of sets you can buy for dirt cheap and youll buy entire sets for much cheaper than you ever can ripping.

So…. I just started wanting to get into collecting a set at a time… I’m a long time Pokemon fan but have never been able to afford the collecting hobby.. it seems like it’s a bad time to get in…. I’m still going to do it because I want to start collecting but I’m even more intimidated by the hobby because of this happening.
Start with affordable sets or singles, if its intimidating atm. If you really want to start collecting there is no need to start with the latest set(s), as it will be a long term thing anyway. Take it slow, and get familiar with the cards. No rush, have fun, good luck 👍
its a great time to get in. You don't have to start looking at a set that won't come out until next year. Trust me, look at scarlet and violet base set. obsidian flames. paradox rift. temporal forces. Those sets are really affordable right now. I'd say paldea evolved too...just ignore the magikarp card...its a whole thing, its a rabbit hole you don't need to go down. But thats a lot of current sets that you can get great cards on the cheap!
When the set releases, big retailers will have plenty of products constantly. Walmart restocks every week just figure out when they do at your local store. Don't be a A33 and get everything.

Glad I got 4 ETBs of the preorder and 2 surprise boxes ordered of plasmatic evolution ordered from the Pokemon Center. Plus a few more preorders from GameStop. I also have 4 sealed boxes of 151 UPCs 4 151 booster bundles and 1 151 Japanese booster box all sealed. Keeping them locked away for a long time.

Oh man, that kind of scam happened in my local Poko FB group when 151 was coming out. Some lady was doing "preorders" for ridiculously cheap prices...she ended up siphoning and running away with like 50-60k euros from the group, rough times. Luckily I wasn't one of the people who fell for the scam. Mostly because I don't like doing preorders and because I didn't have any money at that time anyway. Lucky me, I guess. 🤣

Thing is the PC etb, I think they need to print more of those ff I only wanted one to display cause I like evee and I like the simple artwork on it I’m hoping for more prints of those etb’s
they only pre sell a certain amount. Even if they don't sell past the alloted amount for preorders, they shut off preorders about a week ahead of a set release date. Then they open up sales on release day again. So far we've seen pretty much every set have PC ETBs sit on the site for months. 151 has been the only exception to the rule as it sold out same day, but even it opened for sales on release day. I suspect they only presell like %30 of the etbs. It also gives them time to figure out who has paid up, and who hasn't, and those who don't pay, those get released for sale too. They charge your credit card the day of release, and give you a few days if you have insufficient funds or the credit card details change. Hope I have disueded your fomo. Keep your eyes peeled on release day, usually at a human time of day in the morning. Good luck.

People have been buying 100s of booster boxes for $90ish and selling them a couple years later for 2x. the money is in the volume essentially turning $90k into 180k
If I had set aside $50 for each biweekly paycheck back in 2002, I could have saved up $1200 that year. If I kept on doing that for 22 years, I would have saved $26,400. If I had spent $1200 in 2002 on the Pokemon Legendary Collection packs, I would have ended up with 382 packs. The current lowest price on Ebay is $1500. $1500 x 382 = $573,00.

So…. I just started wanting to get into collecting a set at a time… I’m a long time Pokemon fan but have never been able to afford the collecting hobby.. it seems like it’s a bad time to get in…. I’m still going to do it because I want to start collecting but I’m even more intimidated by the hobby because of this happening.
Start with affordable sets or singles, if its intimidating atm. If you really want to start collecting there is no need to start with the latest set(s), as it will be a long term thing anyway. Take it slow, and get familiar with the cards. No rush, have fun, good luck 👍
Get Japanese or Korean if you really just want a collection and aren't trying to flip and profit hits

its a great time to get in. You don't have to start looking at a set that won't come out until next year. Trust me, look at scarlet and violet base set. obsidian flames. paradox rift. temporal forces. Those sets are really affordable right now. I'd say paldea evolved too...just ignore the magikarp card...its a whole thing, its a rabbit hole you don't need to go down. But thats a lot of current sets that you can get great cards on the cheap!

When the set releases, big retailers will have plenty of products constantly. Walmart restocks every week just figure out when they do at your local store. Don't be a A33 and get everything.

Glad I got 4 ETBs of the preorder and 2 surprise boxes ordered of plasmatic evolution ordered from the Pokemon Center. Plus a few more preorders from GameStop. I also have 4 sealed boxes of 151 UPCs 4 151 booster bundles and 1 151 Japanese booster box all sealed. Keeping them locked away for a long time.

Oh man, that kind of scam happened in my local Poko FB group when 151 was coming out. Some lady was doing "preorders" for ridiculously cheap prices...she ended up siphoning and running away with like 50-60k euros from the group, rough times. Luckily I wasn't one of the people who fell for the scam. Mostly because I don't like doing preorders and because I didn't have any money at that time anyway. Lucky me, I guess. 🤣

Thing is the PC etb, I think they need to print more of those ff I only wanted one to display cause I like evee and I like the simple artwork on it I’m hoping for more prints of those etb’s
they only pre sell a certain amount. Even if they don't sell past the alloted amount for preorders, they shut off preorders about a week ahead of a set release date. Then they open up sales on release day again. So far we've seen pretty much every set have PC ETBs sit on the site for months. 151 has been the only exception to the rule as it sold out same day, but even it opened for sales on release day. I suspect they only presell like %30 of the etbs. It also gives them time to figure out who has paid up, and who hasn't, and those who don't pay, those get released for sale too. They charge your credit card the day of release, and give you a few days if you have insufficient funds or the credit card details change. Hope I have disueded your fomo. Keep your eyes peeled on release day, usually at a human time of day in the morning. Good luck.

I never preordered from shops who only sale on social media🥴 Those individuals always take preorders only for months later to announce “we were shorted sorry”😂 The way I see it those “shops” are receiving interest free loans from there customers😑 There’s a dude on TH-cam who said on video that he took $16,000 worth of preorders for prismatic etb and is confident he’ll be able to fulfill all orders😳 It’s extremely dumb offering preorders with no guarantee allocation once again I see it as a interest free loan😑 I always preorder from big box stores like GameStop,Best Buy, Pokémon center less risk on cancellation

Pokemon "investing" is so stupid. Same as videogame "investing" , what buy etbs at 50 a pop, booster boxes at 90 a pop and then hold for ten years to make like 400 bucks total after moving it all? Absolutely ridiculous you'd make more money just putting 50 aside each paycheck
People have been buying 100s of booster boxes for $90ish and selling them a couple years later for 2x.
the money is in the volume essentially turning $90k into 180k
