My Italian grandmother made this often but with onions and, of course, oilve oil. I was very fortnuate to grow up in a small town of immigrants from all over and we had such a variety of dishes. It was wonderful.
My late grandmother was a Polish immigrant in the 1930s. She made some wonderful wholesome dishes with cabbages and potatoes. This definitely appears to be my style of comfort food.
This looks wonderful! My grandmother used to make a similar dish so this brings back fond memories. I am going to have to give this recipe a shot. Thank you!
Love this video. I make a cabbage dish similar to this often, but serve it with mashed potatoes. The addition of the pasta sounds great. My husband always likes the cabbage meal. And he loves pasta a lot. This be the best combination for him. Can other pasta shapes be used?
When I make my potatoes I put them in about an inch of water and steam them. I think it goes quicker. That would also make the starch water more potatoes starchy

Looks good. Reminds me of Eastern European dishes.
It's Lithuanian, at least the family members that made it were!

Looks great :)
I make cabbage and noodles all the time. Love the idea of adding potatoes. Did I miss you adding the onions?
Went in with the cabbage.
Looks yummy
Thanks!
That is a really interesting recipe! Thanks for sharing it. I think I need to do some research on this "starch solution" thing you keep talking about!
It's very interesting: www.amazon.com/dp/1623360277/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_X0FNWC1CNFWTQTJRAPT0?linkCode=ml2&tag=cscooks-20

Sure. Couldn't really cook the noodles then though 😀. I tend to just cover the potatoes anyway.
@@PlantBasedBistro you're right you wouldn't be able to cook the noodles then.
En español por favor.....
