Josh we absolutely enjoy your videos. My husband and I plan to full time rv soon and you have sure made us picky shoppers. Wish us luck soon with it because we are so excited and very much a deserving couple!
LOVE the rear U-shaped kitchen!!! GREAT prep space and a BIG dedicated pantry!!! LOVE that this Open Range has NO carpet!! EASY cleaning is the KEY!!!!!! :)
Basically change the decals & swap to frameless windows + solid kitchen counter w/a farm sink. There are a few other minor items, but that's about it. The "Ultralite" fifth wheel series is being phased out now. The "Light" you described is continuing however.
Josh, great video. I really like this RV. Would I be able to add a 2" receiver to haul our bikes? Is there an option for table and chairs instead of dinette? Love the big windows, the counters and 2 windows in the bedroom.
*RECEIVER HITCH:* Would need to be aftermarket & could affect your warranty. *TABLE & CHAIRS:* You bet. Alternatively, you could contact our sales team & request a discount and/or removal of the existing booth. Then, you could purchase and use whatever table setup you preferred at your leisure.
Josh this is the one we both love. Our home closes next month and we will be coming to you from Texas. I hope y'all will have this open range and we'll need help with a truck. On the truck we're thinking of a used, my hubby wants a diesel
Interesting 5er and floor plan. Good news about the insulation, I fear that too many don’t give that a thought until it’s too late when they find themselves in an extreme environment and realize their unit is wholly inadequate. I do question the lack of dual pane windows. Might be OK for 5 hours in a windless test room, not going to work well in the real world. Do they not use a fiberglass roof because of weight? Nice enough unit it almost has me thinking about my Class A. Would work well with the new diesel 1/2 tons. Thanks that your video didn’t feel too long while telling too little, and was even entertaining!
Les than 1% of towable RVs use fiberglass roofing. Cost is a primary factor. The roof skin itself is rarely the failure point, but the seals themselves.
Josh, I own this RV and I love, love, love it!! However I am having this one issue which you didn’t talk about when you were doing the tour and that is my refrigerator door won’t completely open up due to it hitting the dinette so I was wondering if anyone has contacted you about this and if they were offering a solution to this problem?
Josh, can the light version of this 5 th wheel actually be towed by a half ton pickup? Looking to travel long distances. If so advice on best model. Thank you
Completely depends on the capacities of the truck in question. If you were considering offering our team the opportunity to work with you, then just give us a call and we'll run the numbers to verify a safe pairing.
I record videos of the RVs we sell, so yes we can get you any RV we show. We're a dealer -- not just an advertiser. The "Ultralite" series was phased out, but the 280RKS "light" version (*which is just the same RV*) is available.
The good news? It *is* still in production -- though not *EXACTLY* as you see here. Here's what I mean: Open Range basically built two versions of this. They had the "Ultralite" that you see here, then they had a near-twin called the "Light" that basically had a small trim package above the "Ultralite" sister. Main differences in the Light will be things like Frameless Windows, Solid Kitchen Counter, and a stainless farm sink instead of stainless double sink. The "Ultralite" trailers are still in production, but the "Ultralite" Fifth Wheels were very recently phased out. The "Light" near-clone of this model *does* still exist and is available for normal active production. We just sold out of the last of these 2804RK "Ultralite" models this month and are working to replace them with the "280RKS Light" variant. You're welcome to contact our team at 800-256-5196 for more details on things like pricing and when we can get one in for you!
It IS 30ft basically at 29'11. And you can't just "make it longer" without making serious changes. Perhaps the Eagle HT 30.5MLOK would work for you as it's basically the next step larger from something like this. You can see one here: bit.ly/2BoLLeM
No. That requires a completely different chassis and front end. They're working on what is roughly being called the "Light 360" to re-introduce the king combo pinbox. We were VERY vocal about instantly advising the lack of king combo box was a "miss" on this product and continue to push to have that made available once again.
Hi Josh, how big of a truck is needed for this 5th wheel? Do we need 3/4 ton diesel or 1/2 ton diesel? What do you recommend? We're already making our plans for the trip there.
At this stage Linda it would be best for you to start making contact with a member of our sales team directly. Let them get to know you a bit so they can help you plan a package best suited for what you're seeking to accomplish.
Josh you the only guy that displays when slide outs or closed and open giving us full vision of the tour, and not half ass like a lot of people 👍👍👍👍👍👏

lol sorry? :)

Joshua, Congrats!!! LOVE this design!!! :)
Can you do a single sink which would be great, also can you get a different table for the dinette
Thanks
Kim
I'd like to see the "full fat" version, like a OF284RLS. Love your videos and commentary, keep at it.

Considering I had a hand in this one's creation it'll be extremely unlikely we don't keep it on hand. It's a knockout based on customer feedback!
We're hoping for a truck and 5th wheel package deal
We do that too! Give our fellas a call when you're getting closer so we can make sure we have a proper pairing ready for you.

Apologies - you’re the first I have heard report it
Fridge doors can open either way. Perhaps flipping it would help?
I want to see you open the fridge door all the way... does it hit the slide top?
Contact our team. We'll get you a picture. Can't post a pic in reply here. You can reach them at 800-256-5196
AMAZING floorplan! great job josh.;-)

Josh,
If I want basically this exact unit as shown, can I do that at Haylett?

@@JoshtheRVNerd Great to know, Thank you Josh! By the way, you do a fantastic job with your reviews.
I noticed that this model isn't listed on the manufacturer's website...I really want this model do you have any in stock or know where I can buy one?

Josh, I thought you told us that Open Range would be reintroducing the king combo pin box on the 2019's. Is that no longer the case?
I did say that. I also said "In another series." They're calling it the Light 360. It doesn't exist yet.
I can't wait to see it. Thanks!!!
Do they have this floor plan in a 30-35 ft. 5th wheel?
It IS 30ft basically at 29'11.
