    Awesome smaller fifth wheel! Would sure like other rv manufacturers come out with more smaller fifth wheels, in the 26-28 ft range!

    Hi josh! Been following you for quite some time now! Wife and I love your videos!! After watching your video on the 22 rbswe we purchased one and it is the perfect couples rv. But here we are a couple years later and in a different state, (Idaho) we found ourselves needed something else since our circumstances have changed. We watched your video on the 23 mls 5 th wheel and now we have one of those. We obviously weren’t going for length but quality once again. It’s large enough for long trips to see the kids, ( California and Arizona) but we still get that camping feeling. Thank you so much for what you do, as we enjoy your comedic take and professional input. Keep telling it like it is. Fans for life!!!

    What a cute little 5th-wheel! The kitchen is nice because it's really residential in it's layout; say, small house/cottage/apartment style residential. Centered sink with window and cabinet beneath for wastebasket and sundries. Small stove and microwave to one side. A full rack of drawers from floor to counter (the way it SHOULD be) on the other side. Fridge off to one side but within tentacle's, err, arm's reach. All this with a full length backsplash. The TV's too high. Where else would they put it? I really like how Cougar put the stairs on the same side as the slide. That way when the slide is open it gives the illusion that they're in the middle; making the space look bigger.

    A shelf between the bathroom sink and the medicine cabinet would not be in the way and give the ladies a place to set a hot curling iron or hair dryer.. And a pocket door to the bedroom could slide behind that sink unit.

      @@JoshtheRVNerd I like both, the Jayco appears to be bath and bed accessible in travel mode, which I think would be better for pit stops and taking a nap while on long journeys. Throw in some of the Winnebagos and the smaller fifth wheel has some good choices, nice to see.

    I love these smaller 5th wheels and this kitchen layout is really nice. One thing I don't understand: side stairs. Doesn't it make more sense to put the stairs in the middle so they're usable with a closed slide? Plus, you close the doors and the bathroom becomes MUCH bigger! Please explain why there seems to be a preference for an unsplit bathroom. I really don't get it.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Middle stairs would be possible (classic style really), but it would require a walk-thru bath which a LOT of people really dislike in a fifth wheel in today's market.
      I can't explain the preference of buyers. I only know it's dictated by consumer demand. Unfortunately, your preferences are the exception to the general rule.

It figures though -- my tastes tend to be for the classic and more practical. Ha! Anyways, thanks for letting me know. I guess I'm glad they're following consumer preference. Just wish I wasn't the exception. Love the videos!

      Something to consider: The iN*Command system might be a handy "get out of jail free card" in that regard.
      As you're pulling into a stop grab your phone
      Flip open the iN*Command App
      Start hitting the slide button as you walk back to the door
      Slide will be open enough to pass thru by the time you get in
      Use the app on your phone to close the slide on the way back to the vehicle
      Obviously means you need to plan where you park, but that's typically not an impossible task if you know what you're about to do.

    Rewatching, I have another question about this little guy versus, say, the new Winnebago Micro Minnie 5er. It seems like they both have enclosed tanks but this one is rated down to zero and the Winnebago is only rated to 32. Can you explain some of the extreme weather characteristics that make the Cougar so much better equipped? I'll also go look to see if you've already made a video. Thanks for all the info!

    Like these a lot and will probably get one of the half ton models as I have a 2500 but with a modest payload capacity. My big issue is with the bed. I have seen a number of these this fall at the shows and put a measuring tape on the bed. They are NOT a fill 80 inches long but a short queen. I need a full length queen. Josh have you ever put a tape on one of these?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what you're measured. Cougars are and have been 80" queens in their fifth wheel segment and always have been. Their trailers used to use short queens, but they now use 70" x 80" Kings.

    Not sure why Keystone continues to make these smaller Cougar Half-ton 5th wheels with a queen bed (or even the larger ones for that matter). Our 22rbs TT has a king bed. Once they change that aspect, we will probably trade up.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Answer: Closet slide. Does not allow enough room when retracted to allow for a king.
      Jayco is releasing new Eagle HT models around this size with no closet slide but an XL bonus closet in the room that allows for a king option
