I'm trying to do a diet conversion with my canaries with much more veggies, But there's just one of my canaries which will not eat his veggies only rarely spinach, kale and broccoli so I need to bribe him with treats I have watched your latest vlog on how to get your bird to eat veggies but no matter what he won't eat them. What a delicious meal to start the day with! Thank you Sophie, for sharing this. I will definitely try it with my flock. I'm wondering if your legumes and peas are cooked or not? Thanks!
Hello, Thanks for the info love your videos! Do you give them a tablespoon of everything daily or a tablespoon total. I’ve been giving my conure a 1/4 cup of chop a day. Is that too much? Thanks!
Hey! A 1/4 cup cones our at 4 tablespoons so that’s quite a lot! We give one tablespoon of fresh food in the morning and one tablespoon of dry food in the evening so 2 tablespoons per bird per day! This is just a guideline which can be adjusted based on weight and wastage!
My conures are both picky . They do like some corn , apples , grapes, strawberries and blueberries but what they long for is seeds , walnuts and chips . In the morning I feed them scrambled eggs and fruit but I’ve noticed that they are eating less of it and start making a lot of noise , meaning they want their seeds . That’s basically what they eat the most now 😞
Do you have a list of the food and what you mix for her. My bird found me 6 years ago in my backyard. She won’t eat any fruits or veggies I put in her cage.

Hlo sophie!! I would like to know how to gain weight in my 2 GCC's as they are 1 year and 3 months old at a weight of 53 and 51 grams. They eat their chop, pellets and some seed as 10% of their diet. ( the seeds are not on the healtheir side so i would appreciate it if you will tell me about some good seed mix too ) What should i do, i have been really worried for months now. One more thing that they look same as scampi but i can feel their keel bone ( not too sharp ) is it okay or not. I hope u will reply and help me 🤞
You could always schedule a vet check up to check if they are just bred smaller! Otherwise increasing protein from sprouted seeds, grains and legumes, plus adding nuts to the diet may help !
@@BirdNerdSophie thank u for replying 😊 Actually sadly but there are no good avian vet so that's off limit for me. 😔 I am giving them walnuts and almonds daily now i will try to add some sprouts 🤞
Question how many times a day do you feed them ? And when you do you leave the food bowls in there so later they finish or once it’s been a while you take it away until lunch ?
Can you give conures exclusively freeze dried food? There's a bunch of people in my town that freeze dry food and will freeze dry whatever you give them.
Nice! Does this mean your conure only has 2 main meals? Once in morning and once before sleep? What time do they eat pellets? Do they eat pellets everyday or not?
