I had a demo of this mower. Great machine just under powered in my opinion due to the size of the Hydro pumps that are required to get the machine going. Also as seen in the video the cut quality isn’t the best. I’d definitely be interested in buying one if they corrected those issues. Maybe a diesel machine for the low end torque would help the power issue.
Rented one and put 8 hours on it last Saturday. I had the 760 with the 66" BRUSH HOG deck. I had sidehills that I would not dare try with either of my tractors and brush hogs that I breezed through with the Altoz... the cant meter indicated I was on 25-30 degree sidehills, never slipped. I mowed mesquite trees up to 4' tall and it totally mulched them, Johnson grass over 5' tall I was unable to take a full width strip and it did push it down so didn't cut it all cleanly, but that worked well when I took half width strips so I could run probably 5-6 mph and when coming back on the next pass I would be going the opposite direction over the half from the previous pass and ended up leaving everything clean. I was cutting to 3" height which is as low as that one goes. Then in drainage areas, I went right through swamps cutting cattails, willows, and various swamp grasses and weeds. It doesn't work when the water is deeper than the deck! LOL! You can't mow under water, so I had to lift the deck a few times to keep mowing. The one thing that loaded it down was heavy bermuda grass that was 16-18" tall; I had to slow down to keep the RPM up and get a clean cut. Altogether I mowed probably about 20 acres of a wide variety of terrain that we cannot mow with our tractors or any of our other zero-turns. And it is way more comfortable to operate than any of our traditional zero-turns... and the adjustable seat suspension did adjust up to 300# for me which I don't know of any others that do that. This mower retails here right at $20,000 so I could never justify buying one, but where the local dealer is ARA Rentals in Lawton, OK and he rents this beast out for under $200/day (8 hours on the clock) I will keep using it at least once a month. On just one section, I mowed more than 2 men operating our walk-behind brush cutters could have cut in 3 days, so economically, this machine paid for itself for me.

Assuming base price is 13k that would be home owner model so how can this take on two pretty good machines at once? You could also have multiple extra tires on standby for the cost. What’s the maintenance cost? And if a tread breaks how’s the cost vs tire?

You still didn't say what the price is though lol. But I love it. My wife and I closed on our new home on Dec 18 2020 and at that time there was 1.6ft of snow on the ground. With no preparation for the snow and no tools a trip to Home Depot for a couple snow shovels was the only option to champion clearing the 170ft driveway. I figured it would be a great workout and it was but after doing it twice in a week of endless snow it was no longer a workout but bordering on suicide. Winter is coming again, and the TRX 766 seems to be a good all season tool to take on the snow and our 3.2 acres. We'd love to know the cost and financing options. Thanks

Make a smaller 42in and half the price and aerator spikes for the tracks. I do like that it's a Minnesota company, that was an important factor when I bought my Toro.

I paid 10k for a Dixie chopper and I slide down the hill all time.. my girlfriend about flipped it over on her and it wasn’t even that much of an incline..on top of that my grass stays torn up because the machine is too powerful and if you want to make a quick turn your grass is gone... so for a few thousand bucks this machine looks much safer and if you go slow around things I’m sure it doesn’t hurt your grass anymore than a Dixie.. I don’t want a 1200 pound mower on me or torn all to heck by the time it rolls down the mountain so I give this 2 thumbs up
The TRX 354 and TRX 561 the engine manufacturer recommends a 20 degree slope limit, on the other TRX tracked zero-turn mowers, the engine manufacturer recommends a 25 degree slope limit for continuous use and 30 degrees for intermittent use.

The torsion bar suspension is awesome loved in the Military but the one thing they have avoided talking about in every commercial I have watched is what happens when it throws a track. If you served in the Military and rode track vehicles you know that it will happen. It’s a real thing and a real pain in the ass for even a great mechanic. They didn’t highlight anything about breaking track and getting it back online. Because that is 100 times worse than a flat tire.

What happens when you throw a track while out mowing a lawn? That’s a possibility with track vehicles.
I don’t understand how a rear track adds so much traction over tires? Tracks are great for floatation but not on steep hills. I have a set of tracks for my CanAm x3 and sideways on hills is white knuckle driving cause I can slide sideways easily. I only have traction if the ground is bone dry. Where I see a track beneficial is in thorny brush where tire flats are common. The Tweel tires are awful handling so tracks come out on top in the form. Tracks are not better handling over tires. If you could run a track and tire mower blindfolded lol in a bumpy field, majority of people would choose tires. The track is cool, I’ll give them that but it adds a ton of cost to a mower that may not be necessary for most applications.

The more this man informs me of this Mower, I can Actually see that mower selling for upwards of $10K. Let’s see if I am close on its Price ? @@Altoz, The ZT5400 is rated for a gross weight of 2200 pounds and the 766 weighs in at 1600 pounds. Assuming a 200 pound operator there should be 400 pounds to spare for towing. Is the 250 pound towing capacity limited by components other than the transmissions?
There are many factors that are considered when determining the maximum towing capacity... transmissions is one of them. Currently the max towing weight is 250 pounds.

Yeah but tracks won't work on grass. Every turn it will tear the lawn . I don't see how you cod use it in a lawn without damage

Just demo'd one today... built like a tank... tore up the lawn on turns no matter what I did... it really depends on the grass you have...

What's the towing capacity on the 766?
The maximum towing weight is 250 pounds.
@@Altoz, The ZT5400 is rated for a gross weight of 2200 pounds and the 766 weighs in at 1600 pounds. Assuming a 200 pound operator there should be 400 pounds to spare for towing. Is the 250 pound towing capacity limited by components other than the transmissions?
There are many factors that are considered when determining the maximum towing capacity... transmissions is one of them. Currently the max towing weight is 250 pounds.
