Whereas the x-43, an unmanned aircraft actually capable of Mach 10. Reached that speed at 110,000 ft. A quick Google search found that the air pressure at 80,000 ft is .34 psi. Whereas the pressure at 110,000 ft is only .103 psi. Around a third the pressure. So the true airspeed experienced by an aircraft. Or unlucky pilot forced to bail at Mach 10 would really be about the same as an aircraft at Mach 3.3

Great video! The F-14 wings instead of angel wings was a fantastic touch. Something I found funny is that the movie is actually doing the realistic thing by not hitting the SAMs with tomahawks as modern SAMs have the capability to hit tomahawks. Also the SU-57 (Bad guy 5th gen fighter) would not have been able to detect the missile as it was probably an AIM-9X, which tracks infrared and not radar (thus the aircraft not actually having any radar waves to detect), it would of definitely noticed the F-18 tho.

Only one country, aside from the US, has ever had F-14s and still operates them, along with having mountainous areas with a covert nuclear programme. They didn't need to specify Iran, because it was obvious enough.

1:44 They actually explained why they couldn't do that in the movie. The SAM's were protected by radar and GPS jamming, countermeasures etc. The airfield was in a different location.
Add a couple of EA-18 Growlers to the mission and SAM problem is solved. Or just drop a couple of TACPs off the day before with laser designators and none of the jamming stuff will matter.
Not military but even if there's GPS jamming there are inertial guidance systems in missiles corrected by GPS which should have a fair chance of hitting static targets. I guess it could be that they were trying to reduce casualties maybe or just that they wanted more drama...
I was kind of hoping to have HISHE Ice tell Mav that he can still be his wingman anytime; only for Mav to punch him again. But the Batman reference is still well thought out along with the Batman mask. I like how the angel wings are shaped like an F-14's air intake with swept wings.

All this says is how bd the 2022 season for movies was.
0:20 I like how you've had the angel wings to be that of a fighter jet
"The Enemy" was used to refer to the bad guys so much in the film that I half expected Cobra Commander to be teased in a mid-credit scene. LOL
I absolutely love that their angel wings are the air intakes and wings of an f-14 Tomcat. It caught me off guard and got laugh out of me.
0:32, Phoenix is right to ask. In the first film, it was clear that the enemies were Russian "MiG-28" (they could say it because they were sure the Russians won't see the film) but in this one there is no mention of any country, to avoid any polemics. But a good eye will see that the 5th Gen jets are Russian Su-57.
Doesn't mean they were russian. They could've been exported to somewhere else.
@@bc_011 Has Russia ever exported any Su-57 fighters ? The only country in the world with functional F14 Tomcats is Iran, but their snow-covered mountain ranges are few...
@@sprinkle61 true true...
It was Iran, as there was an F14 tomcat in their hangar.
@DanishDrakens729 It was Iran in both movies.
Ok, that Val Kilmer Batman joke killed me. Loved his final interaction with Maverick :)
@Seth Torres Personal I didn’t think so at first then I found out the same actor actually played Batman. So it’s decently funny I’d say
@@Newt2799 You need to watch all the Batman movies, you're missing out.
@@ryukishi07thecreator70 I just watched Batman Forever. Honestly better than I expected. Jim Carey was a fun riddler too lol
Dropping that bomb blind was the most badass thing ever
he wasnt even in any bombing mode..
He was using the force.
God could you imagine if Val actually said those lines as a blooper joke.
Me throughout the entire movie:
Who are they fighting anyway?
The movie:
Hey, done or worry about it.
That only ONE country in the entire world actually has functional F-14 Tomcats made it super obvious to those who know...
Iran.
I found it nice that they never mentioned a country and just focused on the aviation part of it. In todays world it kinda feels refreshing
@@VNtergon Refreshing? people admit it's a remake of Star Wars.
@@josh72456 nah. Its a commercial military aviation. Even russian pilots liked it. Sure there are things in it that are more Star Wars then reality, but it was still fun instead of being a propaganda movie. bTW, whats most star wars for you in it?)
@@VNtergon The borrowed dialogue I just cringed a bit and of course the aerial sequences are callbacks to the Death Star battle just like the dialogue.
Possibly one of the best HISHE's i've seen in a long time. Well done you guys! Was especially a fan of the ever-increasing amount of people in heaven joke
Apparently somebody actually survived a crash like the Dark Star crash in the opening 🤔 he was like… really injured, but… 😂
Yep, Bill Weaver in 1966 bailed out of an SR-71 at 78,000 feet. He survived and only died last year.
@@Darius-scifieart yeah but darkstar was flying at mach 10, SR-71 flies at mach 3.
@@anguscovoflyer95 @qantaspilot95 I'm aware. But it wouldn't really matter as much as one might think. From your username I can probably guess you know about the concept of true airspeed. How as the air gets thinner at higher altitudes. Aircraft can fly faster over ground while experiencing comparable pressure.
The maximum altitude of the SR-71 is 85,000 ft.
It could have had a breakaway cockpit instead of a standard ejection seat.
@@RogueAI perhaps
I liked the part where Maverick said his famous catchphrase, *It’s Gunnin’ time* and proceeded to top all over the bad guys, truly one of the sequels of all time.
Stop! He did not say that! Also stop with the It's Morbin Time joke! It's getting really annoying!
@@mr.movieandtvguy5310 We must not have watched the same movie, I have a clear memory of this happening.
@@Befuddled_Ostrich It didn't! I know because I watched it many times! There's only one version of Top Gun: Maverick!

@@RED-47 I'm just trying to say that this joke needs to end. It was funny at first but now I hear it everywhere. It needs to end
No matter how dysfunctional the internet gets, HISHE will always be there to make us smile laugh. Thank you for another hilarious video - look forward to Wakanda Forever!
It’s amazing to see that they are still going strong!
After the 2nd Tomahawk launch "Now launch a wave of F-35 fighters for air cover to go those guys off Maverick." I have watched a lot of TH-cam channels with former Navy pilots who says a lot of the military stuff does not happen, but they still love this movie.
Of course they love it, US win at the end
The gag "Because I'm Batman" makes me laugh enough even in Top Gun. It'll never get old 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
All the times Maverick died and went to heaven were funny 😂
oh sorry fellas I wasn't listening 🤣
Val Kilmer is indeed Batman. And with that laugh, Tom Cruise is definitely the Joker.
That “Because I’m Batman!” gag with Val Kilmer was probably the best joke they have ever done!
I just noticed the characters had jet wings as angels.
good catch! didnt notice....
We feel the need for Saturday speed for Hishe’s latest episode with this year’s biggest films ever to happen to be a best sequel.
To be fair, the missile dodging thing, while cool, also left that 5-Gen fighter wide open for Mav's machine guns, so the movie also could have ended there.
Yeah, that sort of maneuver is an airshow trick and nothing more.
The Su-57 shoulda gotten missile lock alert. It would have had atleast some sort of countermeasures
i thought he already used up the last of his ammo taking out the second jet?
@@rockyroadmagic4152 that is the second jet
@@afarrel3195 oh you meant in the actual movie. I thought you were referring to the hishe where the third one does the same thing
2:33 Everyone just to let you know this is not the flat spin or the "cObRa SpIn" It's the Kvochurs Bell maneuver.
No its not. Its Pugachev’s Cobra.
@@Andrey_Gysev In the movie, it's Kvochurs Bell maneuver. The director confirmed it. The cobra maneuver is pointing nose up, breaking midair, and then pointing nose back down to be behind the aircraft that was previously behind you. The Kvochurs Bell maneuver is similar except you flatspin after breaking.
I like how all of them have Jet wings instead of Angel Wings in Heaven.
The lack of gags from that final dogfight has me seriously bummed.
So many pilots watched that scene and went "aaaand they're dead" about a dozen times
I love the line "I can go as low as you, sir! And that's saying something!" Such an unexpected burn!
I knew the "because I'm batman " was coming but it was still awesome
Favorite parts: "Because I'm Batman" and Mav's wheezy laugh.

It's clearly Iran I'm not sure why people think it's Russia as they already have a nuclear program and are a permanent member of the united nations plus they don't have many mountains especially near their coastline.
@@fenrir834 they make it a point that its not an actual country, and even the area's its staged in is the middle of the ocean.
Only HISHE can make a good Batman Forever joke 👍🤣🤣🤣
Great video! The F-14 wings instead of angel wings was a fantastic touch. Something I found funny is that the movie is actually doing the realistic thing by not hitting the SAMs with tomahawks as modern SAMs have the capability to hit tomahawks. Also the SU-57 (Bad guy 5th gen fighter) would not have been able to detect the missile as it was probably an AIM-9X, which tracks infrared and not radar (thus the aircraft not actually having any radar waves to detect), it would of definitely noticed the F-18 tho.
It has something called "DIRCM" which will detect and defeat IR missiles.
Ice: who is the better pilot?
Mav: let’s not ruin this awesome relationship
Ice: I am . Do you know why? Because I’m Batman
When Ice said "you wanna know why?" I knew exactly what was coming and I wasn't disappointed
First movie the enemy country (if you put together context clues) was North Korea. This time around it was Iran (if anyone was wondering).
Russ-Iran
@@therollerlollerman nah just Iran-modern fighters were Russian manufacture, but that's just reflecting the current relationship; Iran is the only country still using F-14s.
How was it North Korea? It was also Iran.
@@mindtraveller100 the first movie it's supposed to just be dprk. Solitary red star on "Russian" planes and the theater of operations being the Indian Ocean. That aside, the directors commentary on the special edition flat out says the original's bad guys were supposed to be north Korea but the state department asked them to make it more obscure since they were trying to normalize relations at the time.
Top Gun Maverick its just Iran as the bad guy.

@@getsideways7257 Top Gun Maverick is not a bad film but the praise yeah I think it was either post covid feelings like with Spiderman No Way Home. Sure on a cinematographic level it's better than other blockbuster films from this yeah but narratively nah.
omg the part where they ask which country the fighters are fighting against was so relatable... i was asking myself the same question the whole movie
Unlike the original top gun, this one did not have the intention of pointing fingers at certain countries like Russia or North Korea or any country western bastions may see as threats. By keeping the “enemy” coated in black with visors and no name it didn’t offend or make threats towards anyone in real life
If you really want to know-the answer is Iran. They are the only nation still using F-14s (plus the terrain and nuclear focus fits).
@@AthenianOwl237 Yeah, I thought as much. IRL though they’d never fly the SU-57 because a) there’s no export version available yet and b) there aren’t even more than 20 of those fighters in active service now anyways, and ALL of them are with Russia.
I can't wait for Top Gun 3, SIXTH generation fighters!!!!! DRONES!!!!!

Then they should have explained it better
@@conn_man_249 Also they are goddam sams, which can intercept cruise missiles
Add a couple of EA-18 Growlers to the mission and SAM problem is solved. Or just drop a couple of TACPs off the day before with laser designators and none of the jamming stuff will matter.
They just couldn't come up (and didn't bother to) with a better excuse for the canyon run.
Not military but even if there's GPS jamming there are inertial guidance systems in missiles corrected by GPS which should have a fair chance of hitting static targets. I guess it could be that they were trying to reduce casualties maybe or just that they wanted more drama...
This episode was the best ! 😂😂😂😂 The tire squeal sound got me when he dodged the missile 😂😂😂😂😂

I was kind of hoping to have HISHE Ice tell Mav that he can still be his wingman anytime; only for Mav to punch him again. But the Batman reference is still well thought out along with the Batman mask.
I like how the angel wings are shaped like an F-14's air intake with swept wings.
"because im batman" caught me offguard! lmfao! 🤭
2:31 infrared missiles don't actually give a warning to the targeted plane so sneaking up behind a plane like that is totally possible.
Laser warning system
Missile approach warning system: are ur sure abt that?
Uh.... you get lock warning, missile alert and you can see a giant dot on your radar being the f18 before it even shot a missile. And yes, IR missiles do tone missile alert. I don't know why you think they dont. Technology is too advanced to "sneak up" on a plane anymore. Even if you have an f22.
